Curiosities are an interesting type of collectable in Final Fantasy 16. Ranging from signboards to heirlooms, these curiosities embody the journey Clive goes through over the course of the game: they represent the peoples he’s helped, the bonds he forged and the promises he’s made. Not only are they nice to look at and admire but they are also required for any player looking to get the Final Fantasy XVI Platinum Trophy as the “For the Hoard!” trophy requires that you find every curiosity for Clive’s Wall of Memories. Some of these curiosities are easier to find than others, which may need a bit of guidance on.
Here’s where to find all 22 Curiosities for the Wall of Memories in Final Fantasy 16.

How to Get All Curiosities in Final Fantasy XVI
To obtain every single curiosity in Final Fantasy 16, you need to have reached the final main scenario quest, “Back to Their Origin”. While some quests do become available much earlier than that, this is the point you can find and obtain all 22 curiosities.
As such, proceed with caution if you have yet to beat the main scenario quest of Final Fantasy 16: there will be very mild spoilers going ahead.
The Oath
“Created the day Clive pledged his allegiance to Cid, this crystal shard transfixed with twin daggers is a powerful reminder of a promise made, a friendship forged, and a legacy inherited.”
The Oath curiosity is acquired during the main story and will be the very first curiosity in your collection. You’ll acquire it automatically after the main quest “Cid the Outlaw.”
Hanged Man Signboard
“The emblem of the Hanged Man, the tavern that sits at the heart of Lostwing – now in the depths of an aetherflood. It depicts a hooded, bound, and starved man hung by the ankles – perhaps contemplating how he will take his vengeance on those who made him this way.”
You can acquire the Hanged Man Signboard by finishing Quinten’s quest line. Specifically, you need to complete “For Great Justice II”. This concludes the entire Lostwing saga and will award you the Signboard upon completion.
Martha’s Rest Signboard
“The emblem of Martha’s Rest, personal fiefdom of the landlady of the Golden Stables, an island of safety and security in a sea of anything but.”
The signboard from Martha’s Rest can be picked up by completing the sidequest, “Rekindling the Flame II”. This is the final quest in Martha’s questline, following on from the events of Rekindling the Flame.
Veil Signboard
“The emblem of the Veil, Northreach’s far-famed house of ill repute. The town is a gateway to the imperial capital Oriflamme, where waves of old money and new lap against the oppossing sides of the great wall.”
You’ll net yourself the Veil Signboard once you complete Isabelle’s ( also known as the Dame) series of sidequests, concluding with “Under New Management II”. The first part in this quest chain will be available soon after you beat the main quest “Why We Fight” but the second won’t be available until reaching the final quest.
Guardians Scarf
“With this tippet, dyed red for the flames of the Firebird and the blood of his fallen Rosarian brothers, does Sir Wade pledge not his loyalty, but of the Guardians of the Flame.”
To obtain Sir Wade’s Guardian Scarf, you simply need to progress the main scenario quest. Upon reaching the quest “Things Fall Apart” Clive will be ushered around the realm, tending to your allies in need from the recent rise in Akashic and other fiends. One such quest is “The Flames of War” in Martha’s Rest: complete that and the Guardians Scarf is yours.
Briar’s Kiss Signboard
“The emblem of the Briar’s Kiss, the finest forge in Dalimil, run by the puckish and precocious young forgemaster, L’ubor. He inherited both his forge and the role of Desert Hare from his predecessor, the original Ruzena Dalimil – though the mayoralty of Dalimil, he won entirely by his own merits.”
The Briar’s Kiss is the esteemed forge of L’ubor and you can add its signboard to your vast collection by completing L’ubor’s chain of sidequests. In particular, you must complete “Lines in the Sand II.” This will unlock upon reaching “Back to Their Origin.”
Crimson Caravans Signboard
“The emblem of the Crimson Caravans – porters of wide renown based in the market town of Boklad. It depicts a laden chocobo. After the death of her brother and confidant, Theodore, Eloise chose to continue the work they had begun together – freeing Bearers from slavery, just as she had freed him so many years before.”
To pick up the Crimson Caravans Signboard, you must complete Eloise and Theodore’s set of quests. This begins with the quest “Trading Places”, with the second part becoming available once you reach “Across the Narrow” in the main scenario. Then, simply beat “Trading Places II” to add the signboard to your repertoire.
Clayhearth Signboard
“The emblem of the Undying’s headquaters in Tabor. The Undying are a secret society sworn to serve House Rosfield – and more particularly, the Dominants of the Phoenix that are in the Rosfield line.”
You can pick up the Clayhearth Signboard in a similar way to all of the other ones by completing the quest chain associated with the Undying. To be more specific, you must beat the “Duty Undying” quest line from Cyril in Tabor. Once you reach “Back to Their Origin” in the MSQ, you’ll be asked to go to Waloed by Cyril. At this point, just complete “Duty Undying II” to obtain the Clayhearth Signboard curiosity in FF16.
Rusted Battlehelm
“Archduke Elwin’s helm, worn in his victorious campaign to quell the northern uprising, and later laid upon his memorial stone. Now it sleeps in Clive’s chambers, a constant remind of the bravery and selflessness of the man in whose footsteps he and his brother mean to follow.”
The Rusted Battlehelm is an heirloom worn by the late Archduke Elwin, Clive and Joshua’s father, which now rests on his memorial stone on Hawk’s Cry Cliff. This helmet means a lot to the brothers and you can take it back to Clive’s chambers once you reach “Back to Their Origin.” At this point, Joshua will have a new sidequest for you: complete “Where There’s a Will” and the Battlehelm will be yours to keep.
Snow Daisy Garland
“A fragrant diadem, handwoven by Jill from flowers picked on the shores of Oillepheist Bay. The garland rekindles memories of a more innocent time and speaks of a love that can never fade.”
This curiosity is one of the most sentimental of them all: a promise between Clive and Jill that everything will be alright and their love will never fade. To obtain the Snow Daisy Garland, complete the sidequest “Priceless” sidequest. This will unlock upon reaching “Back to Their Origin” by reading a specific missive.
Cid’s Goblet
“Miraculously undamaged in the attack on the old hideaway, Otto held onto the featureless clay cup to remind him of his lost friend, before giving it to Clive, knowing that Cid would have wanted the proud bearer of his legacy to have it.”
Cid’s classic, grubby goblet will be a welcome sign to many players when they get their hands on it. To do so, beat the “Payback” sidequest. You can get this quest from a missive from Gaute after reaching the quest “Out of the Shadow” in the main scenario.
Model Airship
“Mid’s dangerous dream of flight, immortalized in miniature. Though the experiment ended in failure, Mid has “allowed” Clive to keep hold of the model so that once her renown has grown, he might sell the piece for an exorbitant amount gil.”
You can pick up this Model Airship from Mid after completing the sidequest “Aiming High”. This will unlock after reaching the main quest “Back to Their Origin.”
The Triunity Accord
“Signed in Port Isolde by representatives from Rosaria, Dhalmekia, and Sanbreque, this mutual accord sets the stage for a new age in Storm if not officially, then at least in spirit.”
The Triunity Accord is a special curiosity, representing the union of three peoples once thought divided. To obtain it, you must complete the sidequest Three’s Company for Byron. To even unlock that quest, though, you need to have completed two previous sidequests, Smooth Like Butler and the For Great Justice II.
Stolas Quill
“Loresman Harpocrates’ best-loved writing implement, whose ink has penned many a learned tome. It is said that the long quills of the stolas become imbued with the wishes it hears over its long lifetime, the words just waiting to pour out onto the page – so should the day come that Clive puts down his sword and picks up the pen, he shall not find his one and only insurmountable enemy in writer’s block.”
The Stolas Quill is a reward from the Loresman Harpocrates once you’ve helped him reconnect and reunite with an old pupil of his, the Dominant of Bahamut Dion, in a sidequest which unlocks upon reaching Back to Their Origin. Harpocrates’ quest is titled “A Tail to Tell”. Simply complete it and the Stolas is yours (as well as a hint at a possible happy ending).
Scholar’s Bonnet
“Vivian Ninetales’ acadmic cap, awarded to her upon her graduation from the University of Kanver. Now Vivian shares her learning with Clive – the gift of the bonnet serving as a pledge that so long as they remain together, her knowledge shall be as much his as it is her own.”
To claim Vivian’s bonnet from her time as a scholar in the Crystalline Dominion, you need to complete a specific side quest for her once you reach the end of the main scenario quest. That sidequest is called “An Inconvenient Truth” and will award you the Scholar’s Bonnet upon completion.
Winter Mead
“A gift from Gav, this potent potable is made from honey collected in the Northern Territories’ short summers and fermented slowly over the next six moons. Despite an obvious inability to hold his drink, Gav has insisted that he be allowed to share the bottle when the time comes to crack the seal.”
This gift of Winter Mead is given to you by Gav upon completing a personal request from him. Complete the sidequest “Silver Linings” to obtain this curiosity. Like many other NPC-centric sidequests, this unlocks once you reach the final main scenario quest, Back to Their Origin.
Medicine Chest
“A beautifully carved chest that opens to reveal countless compartments full of tonics and tinctures. As Clive often proved a difficult patient, reluctant to come to the infrimary, Tarja commissioned this curio that he might take a part of the infirmary with him.”
The Medicine Chest is easy enough to obtain, but because it isn’t linked to a quest some players may have missed it on their first trip around Valisthea. Once you reach the final main scenario quest, “Back to Their Origin”, go to Tarja in the infirmary: just speak to her and the Medicine Chest curiosity will be yours to claim.
Continental Censer
“An ornate brass censer from beyond the outer seas, gifted to Clive by Charon for his assistance in clearing her name. According to the cantankerous shopkeep, when packed with herbs and ambergris and left to smolder, the fragrant smoke produced can ward off everythign from insects to the plague, protect a home from thieves and demons, and heal any number of ailments, all while bringing love and fortune.”
Charon’s gift to Clive, the Continental Censer is a reward for helping clear Old Nan’s name. To do this, you need to complete the sidequest “An Eye for an Eye.” This becomes available after reaching “Cloak and Dagger” in the main scenario quest and awards the Continental Censer upon completion.
Martelle Apples
“A somewhat stunted, somewhat sweet apple grown from the blighted earth thanks to the dedication and perserverance of one woman – Martelle. Though she was to lose her life from the wounds she sustained in Kupka’s attack on the hideaway, her legacy lives on in the saplings she saved from the ruins.”
The Martelle Apple curiosity is awarded upon completing the sidequest “Fruits of Her Labors”. This quest is a very early one once you move into the new Hideaway and you can pick it up from Cormac in the Backyard. Fruits of Her Labors is a sequel quest to “Moving Heaven and Earth” from the original Hideaway.
Ambrosia’s Tack
“A saddle and blinders crafted specifially for Clive’s childhood chocobo, Ambrosia. Even after being seperated from her master, the noble steed served the people of Rosaria in his stead – protecting the defenseless from the merciless, just as a good Shield should.”
This curiosity is a blast from the past and will likely be one of the earliest ones you’re able to pick up. An old saddle for Clive’s prized silver Chocobo Ambrosia, this tack now sits as a prized piece of his collection.
Ambrosia’s Tack is a reward for completing the sidequest “The White-Winged Wonder.” This is a very important quest that gives you access to Ambrosia as a mount, allowing you much faster and more convenient traversal around Valisthea. Charred Sparring Sword
“Clive’s old sparring sword, salvaged by Torgal in the aftermath of the Ironblood invasion and hidden at Clive’s ‘”original” hideaway, the rookery. It is a reminder of who Clive once was and who he has become – as well as of the unbreakable bond between lifelong friends.”
The penultimate curiosity is a familiar one: a charred, burned remnant of Clive’s past in the form of his old sparring sword. This is the self-same weapon we saw, and used, in the opening sections of Final Fantasy 16.
Obtaining this curiosity involves completing Torgal’s set of sidequests. To be more specific, you need to complete the sidequest “More than Words.” This follows on from a quest much earlier in the game called “A Bone to Pick” and is an incredibly heartwarming quest even outside of the final reward.
The Circle of Malius
“A faithful reproduction of an ancient mural depicting the Eikons and their creator, Ultima. It is based on both an incomplete tapestry kept by the Undying in Tabor, as well as sketches taken by Joshua at an ancient fortress in Ash where the mural was most likely used by adherents to the now-vanished Malius faith.”
Last, but certainly not least, is the Circle of Malius. This cloth recreation of the Eikon’s ancient mural is a beautiful piece of art, one which holds a truth hidden from all of Valisthea for centuries.
To claim this final curiosity, you need to find, and complete, all 7 Chronolith Trials. The Chronoliths are Eikon-specific time trial challenges dotted around the various regions of Valisthea: upon interacting with them, you’ll be taken into a timed challenge where you can only use the abilities of a single Eikon. There are 3 stages which each contain 3 rounds before concluding in a boss fight to test your capabilities with the chosen Eiklon.
Manage to complete each one and you’ll get a special accessory that enhances the power of the ultimate Eikon abilities. Clear all 7 Chronoliths and the Circle of Malius will drop on the final one, adding the last curiosity to your vast collection.
Once you’ve acquired all of the curiosities for the Wall of Memories, make sure to head back to the Hideaway. With your collection complete, simply interact with the wall and the trophy For the Hoard! should pop, getting you one step closer to that shiny FF16 Platinum.
That was where to find all the curiosities in Final Fantasy 16.
