The remake of Resident Evil 3 and its online counterpart, Resident Evil: Resistance, will not release until April 3. For players wanting to dive into the refurnished world of zombies and cheesy heroes and villains, a demo will arrive on March 19 for RE3, and the four-against-one beta comes on March 27.
The demo will feature Jill Valentine with Carlos Oliveria as they try to save civilians in Raccoon City. While trying to help those in need, the Nemesis will be lurking to kill you and your companion. Add the 20 Mr. Charlie statuettes on top that will act as a scavenger hunt for players wanting to consume every bit of gameplay before the full game is out. Once finished, an exclusive cinematic trailer will play to continue the hype of the upcoming title.
The beta for Resistance will feature four of the six survivors. The lone player will go into the shoes of Daniel Fabron to eliminate the others.
Capcom is following up on the success of its ground-up remake of Resident Evil 2. The return to the second in the horror franchise has sold approximately five million copies, at least since December of last year. Not only did it reach commercial success, but the Metacritic score across all platforms also averaged a 91 out of 100.
After the announcement of RE3, Resistance eventually crept out of the shadows as a seemingly standalone non-canon online title in the universe. It would later get revealed to be an attachment to the remake as additional content where four survivors must face the undead and one player as a mastermind, a character who rigs the world around the others.
