Minecraft obviously never gets old

A recent fact sheet released by Microsoft shows that Mojang has set a new Minecraft monthly active users record as the humble indie game turned juggernaut continues to be incredibly successful. In short, the game has a whopping 140 million active players and the Minecraft Marketplace has sold $350 million worth of mods and add-ons so far.

Also, the players have downloaded over 1 billion unique pieces of content from the marketplace. But those are just some of the record-breaking facts about Minecraft. To find out more, make sure to check out our original news coverage.

Sony registers a trademark for Sunset Overdrive

Sony registers a trademark for Sunset Overdrive

If you haven’t, you owe yourself to play Sunset Overdrive

Sunset Overdrive is a fun, quirky, and colorful game that’s really difficult to describe and one you should definitely try. It initially released on the Xbox One in 2014 and arrived on PC in 2018 along with all of its additional content. The game has previously been exclusive to Xbox and Windows but now we caught wind of the news that Sony Interactive Entertainment has registered a trademark for the game.

While that isn’t a safe bet that a sequel is coming to PlayStation, it definitely shows that Sony wants to keep it close by for future use. Since Insomniac was acquired by Sony, this could also be an effort to get the franchise to come home under the same umbrella with their other games like Ratchet & Clank and Spider-Man. For more information on the newly registered trademark, check out our original news coverage.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be very performance-friendly

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be very performance-friendly

The epic trilogy will become a lot easier on the eyes

The release of Mass Effect’s Legendary Edition is soon upon us and EA decided to grace us with information on how it will run across various different platforms. Console players can choose between two modes that will favor quality or framerate. How achievable its max resolution and fps is depended on the power of the machine the games are being played on with Xbox Series X definitely taking the cake.

What’s great is that every platform will be able to hit 60 FPS, even the original PS4. However, PC has all the consoles beat and on that platform, you can basically do whatever you want in terms of resolution and quality, provided you have the specs. For the complete table of how ME: Legendary Edition will perform on each system, check out our original news coverage.

Watch Dogs: Legion gets a major content update

Watch Dogs: Legion gets a major content update

Now with mind control!

As of today, Watch Dogs: Legion has been updated to version 4.0 and supplemented with new content, both for Season Pass owners and for other players. Most updates the game received thus far were designed for the multiplayer component so it’s great to see solo players getting some new toys to play around with.

Besides numerous new missions, the new playable character – Mina Sidhu is by far the most interesting addition to the game. She’s basically a psychic that can control other NPC’s and project mental blasts to damage enemies. The update also brings highly requested advanced NPC customization so players can go crazy with how their DedSec team looks.

The next-gen visuals of the Witcher 3 will come from a mod

The next-gen visuals of the Witcher 3 will come from a mod

Great looking game will turn into an amazing looking one

The Witcher 3 will get a graphically enhanced edition for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X / S in the second half of 2021. While we already know the enhanced version will entail ray-tracing effects, faster loading, and higher framerates, what we didn’t know is that most of the visual improvement might come from a mod already available on the PC.

The creator of the most popular Witcher 3 mods – HD Reworked Project has revealed he is in talks with CDPR about incorporating his modified textures into the enhanced edition. The guy’s basically been working on the project for 5 years so this would be a crowning achievement for all his effort. Of course, a huge plus is that he would also probably be financially very well compensated.

If priced well, PSVR could turn out to be a huge hit

Many players haven’t even got a PlayStation 5 yet, and Sony is already getting ready to roll out supplemental hardware. I’m of course talking about the next PlayStation VR device which up until recently we knew very little about. Luckily, we recently got some technical details in a report released by the UploadVR portal.

These details include the total resolution of 4000 × 2040 pixels (2000 × 2040 per eye), eye-tracking tech, haptic vibration, and the ability to manually set the interpupillary distance. With all that, the PSVR2 could prove to be a real juggernaut device that will perfectly complement the powerful console. Hopefully, it won’t be too expensive or in short supply.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer released

Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer released

Carnage looks amazing in the new trailer

It’s truly rare that we get a Marvel superhero movie outside of MCU that is well received by fans. Luckily, 2018’s Venom was one such movie and, this fall, we will have a direct continuation of the story. Venom: Let There Be Carnage, is a sequel directed by Andy Serkis, in which we’ll see Tom Hardy’s Venom clash for the first time with Cletus Kasady and the iconic Carnage symbiote.

The trailer spends a lot of time showcasing the humorous side of Eddie’s and Venom’s relationship but then it switches gears and goes into full-on villain mode putting Cletus Kasady and Carnage front and center. We even get a look at the villain in all of its spiky, terrifying glory and honestly can’t be more excited for the movie to come out.
