EA shared it on their own Star Wars page via Twitter to announce the new first-person dogfighting shooter developed by Motive Studios, showing off an epic and interesting story trailer. For the single-player campaign, Star Wars: Squadrons delves into the story of pilots on both sides of the conflict, characters who are normally both nameless and faceless in the franchises, giving this a unique perspective into the Star Wars universe.

Taking place after the destruction of the second Death Star on Endor, you’ll be escorted through a tale of continuous star fighting battles between the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron and the Titan Squadron, the latter of which is made up from remnants of the Empire.
Star Wars: Squadron‘s multiplayer mode hosts up to 10 players with 5v5 teams. Players can customise their pilots with new weapons, shields, upgrades and cosmetics that they unlock whilst earning experience points. Not only is the game cross-platform, but there’s even a VR mode for PS4 and PC.
At the official Star Wars: Squadrons website, EA goes into more detail as to what players will have in-store.
Take full control of different starfighter classes from both the New Republic and Imperial fleets, such as the X-wing and TIE fighter. Modify your ship, divert the power between its systems, and destroy your opponents in strategic space dogfights.
Compete in intense 5v5 dogfights, unite with your squadron to tip the scales in monumental fleet battles, and take off in a thrilling Star Wars™ single-player story. Immerse yourself in the pilot’s seat completely with the option to play the entirety of Star Wars™: Squadrons in virtual reality (VR) on PlayStation®4 and PC with cross-play support.
So for any players who own a PC or PlayStation VR headset, you can enjoy the Star Wars X-Wing flying experience first-hand! Star Wars: Squadrons will be lightspeeding to PC, Xbox One and PS4 (which as of writing is not listed on the store) on the 2nd of October, 2020. You can pre-order Star Wars: Squadron’s now at the game’s official store.
