Sony and Bend Studio revealed today in a blog post that Days Gone will hit digital PC storefronts on May 18, 2021.
The announcement included a gameplay trailer showcasing the PC port’s enhanced visuals, unlocked framerate, and a higher-resolution photo mode enabling players to better “capture the realistic and detailed world of Days Gone.”
Additionally, the version will also support various controller options, as well as ultra-wide monitor support in Bend’s effort to “…deliver […] new and returning players a unique experience with Days Gone on PC.”
The post-apocalyptic game was previously released in 2019 to mixed reviews. A Bloomberg report published last week indicated that Bend Studio had tried to pitch a sequel, but it never got off the ground in part due to the jumbled reception.
Furthermore, Days Gone is the latest PlayStation Studios title to find its way to PC following Horizon Zero Dawn‘s 2020 release. In an interview with British GQ earlier this year, Sony Interactive Entertainment head Jim Ryan seemed keen on the idea of bringing more PlayStation games to PC, describing it as “an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience.”
The Days Gone PC port will release on May 18, 2021, on Steam and Epic Games Store. It’s also currently available on PlayStation 4 and playable via backward compatibility on the PlayStation 5.
