Seliana Fun Fright Fest has finally arrived to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. This latest festival will be available from October 15 through November 5 and bringing new and old event quests into the rotation again. Aside from Arch-Tempered Velkhana, I’m pretty sure you’re also excited about additional Monster Hunter World: Iceborne layered armor, right? In total there are 16 new layered armors added with this month’s festival. Let’s take a look at what new stuff you can craft and what materials you’ll need to make them. Just remember to select the whole row instead of crafting them piece-by-piece to save materials (and time).
1. Demonlord Layered Armor
As usual, along with a new festival comes a “festival exclusive” layered armor as well. Since it’s the Halloween season, the armor design takes inspiration from classic monsters such as vampires and succubus. You simply need to collect 5 VIP Fun Fright Tickets to be able to craft it. They dropped randomly after each quest but if you wear the full Demonlord armor set, you can get a higher chance of getting VIP Tickets.
2. Universal Studio Collab – Azure Starlord

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne layered armors give lots of fashion options for Long Sword users now.
After waiting for two long years, we can finally craft the High Rank version of the Universal Studio Japan collaboration costume as a layered armor. To make it you’ll need:
- Azure Era Seal x3; from the “USJ: Shine On Forever” event quest.
- Silversnow Pelt x5.
- Guiding Rime Crystal x3.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1.
3. Universal Studio Collab – Azure Age
Of course, the Master Rank version is available as layered armor as well. The materials are:
- Large Azure Era Gem x3; from the “USJ: Ballet of Frost” event quest.
- Silversnow Pelt x5.
- Guiding Rime Crystal x3.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1.
4. Guildwork Layered Armor
If you want to cosplay as The Huntsman without sacrificing your build, now’s the time. To make Guildwork layered, you’re going to need:
- Velkhana Ticket x1; from the “The Place Where Winter Sleeps” event quest.
- Research Commission Ticket+ x5; from MR 6 event quests:
- “We Run This Town”.
- “Hymn of Moon and Sun”.
- “Divine Surge”.
- “The Place Where Winter Sleeps”.
- Elder Spiritvein Bone x5.
- Velkhana Crystal x1.
5. Guild Palace Layered Armor
You can never have enough armor with capes. And the Guild Palace is one fabulous caped armor thanks to the addition of furs. Craft it by collecting:
- Velkhana Ticket x1; from the “The Place Where Winter Sleeps” event quest.
- Hero King Coin x5; from MR 6 arena quests:
- “Arena Master Quest 07”.
- “Arena Master Quest 06”.
- Elder Spiritvein Bone x5.
- Velkhana Crystal x1.
6. Velkhana γ Layered Armor
The highly anticipated second Arch-Tempered Elder Dragon has come. And so its armor. This fight is pretty tough, and I’m not even counting the 30 minutes time limit, making collecting Velkhana Ticket to be quite a challenge. Especially if you need to craft both the armor and layered sets. Hopefully, you have beaten Fatalis at this point to make things easier. Here are the materials you’ll need to craft it:
- Velkhana Ticket x5; from the “The Place Where Winter Sleeps” event quest.
- Tempered Crownhorn x7.
- Elder Spiritvein Bone x5.
- Great Spiritvein Gem x1.
7. Kadachi Scarf Layered Armor
You can now bring the cute Tobi-Kadachi into your home in Seliana by making the Kadachi Scarf layered. Simply collect these materials to craft it:
- Scarf Ticket x1; from the “Kadachi Twins” event quest.
- Tobi-Kadachi Thickfur x1.
- Viper Tobi-Kadachi Thickfur x1.
- Prized Pelt x1.
8. Skull Scarf Layered Armor
If you want something less cute and edgier, the Skull Scarf is also yours to craft. All you need are:
- Black Bandana x2; from the “Tears from Nirvana” event quest.
- Deathweaver Membrane x1.
- Shadowpierce Fang x1.
- Research Commission Ticket+ x1; from MR 6 event quests:
- “We Run This Town”.
- “Hymn of Moon and Sun”.
- “Divine Surge”.
- “The Place Where Winter Sleeps”.
9. Clockwork Layered Armor
If you’re looking for a bit of steampunk aesthetics for your Switch Axe or Charge Blade set, this one is just for you. “A Farewell to Zinogre” event quest won’t just give you lots of Dragonvein Coal but also Zinogre Ticket to craft three layered armors, Clockwork, Wyverian Ears, and Leon. The ticket drop rate is a bit low though, so don’t expect to be able to craft it just from two or three hunts. For each of the Clockwork α and β sets, you’ll need:
- Zinogre Ticket x1; from the “A Farewell to Zinogre” event quest.
- Steam Ticket x4; from Steamworks.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x3.
10. Wyverian Ears Layered Armor
To transform your character into the Monster Hunter‘s equivalent of elf, the Wyverian, you need to gather:
- Zinogre Ticket x1.
- Wyverian Ticket x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
11. Resident Evil Collab – Leon
Along with Clockwork armor, the Resident Evil 2 Remake Leon full set costume is now available as layered as well. The materials for making it are:
- Zinogre Ticket x1; from the “A Farewell to Zinogre” event quest.
- S.T.A.R.S. Badge x6; from “RE: Return of the Bioweapon” event quest.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x3.
12. Resident Evil Collab – Claire
Meanwhile, Claire costume will come later on October 23rd, together with the “Brand New Brute” event quest. The quest will feature Brute Tigrex and drops bonus Armor Spheres. It will also give you Brute Tigrex Ticket for crafting four different kinds of layered armors. First, you’ll need these to make the Claire layered:
- Brute Tigrex Ticket x1; from the “Brand New Brute” event quest.
- S.T.A.R.S. Badge x6; from “RE: Return of the Bioweapon” event quest.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x3.
13. Duffel Penguin Mask Layered Armor
Next up, another animal-head-kind-of layered armor. Perfect for hunting in the snowy Hoarfrost Reach. You’ll need to collect these materials:
- Brute Tigrex Ticket x1; from the “Brand New Brute” event quest.
- Penguin Ticket x1; from “Duffel Duty” event quest.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1.
14. Sealed Dragon Cloth Layered Armor
The ninja-like long scarf headpiece. Goes well with Nargacuga and Odogaron sets. You’ll need:
- Brute Tigrex Ticket x1; from the “Brand New Brute” event quest.
- Sealed Dragon Cloth x1; from “A Chilling Entrance” event quest.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1.
15. Buff Body γ and ɑ Layered Armor
There seem to be two variations of the Buff Body layered armor with a different level of “buff-ness”. First, there’s the Buff Body ɑ you can craft with:
- Brute Tigrex Ticket x1; from the “Brand New Brute” event quest.
- Buff Ticket x4; from “Muscle Monkey Madness” event quest.
- Large Elder Dragon Gem x1.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x3.
And then there’s the buff-ier Buff Body γ. The perfect reward for besting two Furious Rajang in one quest. The materials are:
- Buff Ticket+ x3; from “Mighty Muscle Monkey Madness” event quest.
- Monster Essence x10.
- Pure Dragon Blood x5.
- Rajang Heart x1.
16. Street Fighter Layered Armor
Previously exclusive to PS4 back in the base World, now PC players can craft their own Street Fighter costumes (without the help from mods). While it was a huge challenge back then, fighting High Rank Arch-Tempered Nergigante and Lunastra for the materials is extremely easy with MR gear.
For Ryu layered armor, you’ll need:
- Nergigante Ticket x2; from the “Herald of Destruction Cry” event quest.
- SFV Ticket III x1; from the “The Awakened Satsui No Hado” arena quests.
And for Sakura, you’ll need:
- Lunastra Ticket x2; from the “When Blue Dust Surpasses Red Lust” event quest.
- SFV Ticket II x1; from the “Empress in Full Bloom” arena quests.
And those are the new Monster Hunter World: Iceborne layered armor added together with the Seliana Fun Fright Fest. Obviously, more event quests will still be coming in the future and I hope we’re getting Arch-Tempered Shara Ishvalda. But for now, let me know if I missed anything — or if you have questions about specific materials — in the comments below.
