Diablo IV – World Tier 3 Leveling Guide

Here are some of the best options that you can level up while playing on World Tier 3 difficulty in Diablo IV. Leveling starts to become slower as you enter to World Tier 3 and it may feel like a slog to gain levels as you need to do the second Capstone Dungeon or gain access to World Tier 4. These tips will certainly easy the process and make things go faster.

Diablo IV - World Tier 3 Leveling Guide

Leveling will definitely start to get slower once you pass level 50 in Diablo IV. By the time you’re around that level, you should be able to be competent enough for World Tier 3: Nightmare difficulty. You do get an advantage of getting more experience on this difficulty, but it’s still going to be a journey to level up. This guide will share some of the things I learned during my time on World Tier 3 difficulty. It did require some experimenting, but it was worth it in the long run.

You’re going to need some patience and discipline as you are leveling to progress your character. I highly recommend to be at least level 70 before you attempt your second Capstone Dungeon because just like the first one, it will be another strenuous test for your build. Believe it or not, there’s only three ways that I can think of that are consistent and efficient in terms of the availability. Diablo IV does got a decent amount of timed-based endgame content, and that can affect your leveling speed. For example, the Helltide event can be a good place to level up because monsters are always going to be slightly higher level than you. Unfortunately, they are time-based and it does require waiting until you have access to it.

Without further ado, it’s time to know what are the three best options to level up efficiently on World Tier 3 difficulty. KeenGamer has more similar Diablo IV content if you’re interested:

Nightmare Dungeons – This Is Your New Home

Nightmare Dungeons are objectively the best endgame activity you can do for your character on this difficulty. Not only the monsters give the players increased experience points, but they are dungeons, so that means there will be many hostile targets for you to kill. Most importantly, they reward the player greatly by allowing them to upgrade their Paragon glyphs. You’re going to need to upgrade those Paragon glyphs as you level up mainly because monsters are certainly going to be stronger too. I highly recommend using any glyphs that’s going to increase your damage while you are busy running these types of dungeons over and over again.

These dungeons will eventually be available to you as you are leveling your character on World Tier 3 and eventually you will be able to craft them if you complete a dungeon that is Tier 3 or above. Try to drink the experience potion when you are running these dungeons because they will be beneficial in this situation.

I have some tips to help you run these dungeons efficiently. I recommend players to avoid the Witchwater dungeon mainly because there are these serpent like mobs that can stun you. You don’t want to fight a lot of them at the same time because they can constantly stun you, and you won’t be able to do anything. It will most notably slow you down from finishing the dungeon. You definitely want to run the dungeons around your level or slightly higher too. Clear speed is important when doing these dungeons and I would advise players to finish them around 10 to 20 minutes on average. If you’re performing slower than 20 minutes, you might want to lower the Tier difficulty or avoid some of the dungeon’s affixes. If there’s a certain affix I recommend every player to avoid: it is Backstabbers.

Recently, Blizzard has just announced the news that they will be increasing the experience that players can get in an upcoming patch.

Tree of Whispers – You Got Work for Me?

Before I had access to World Tier 3, I was actually doing a lot of bounties when I only had access to World Tier 1 or 2. They were certainly great for getting experience at that time. The Tree of Whispers bounties are still surprisingly good for getting experience even for World Tier 3 difficulty. While they aren’t as effective compared to the Nightmare Dungeons in the long run, I like to run them every now and then to change up the pace. It’s also another way that you can potentially get more crafting materials which is always nice and you can also obtain more Nightmare Sigils. I would say it’s good to do the bounties until the late 60s where it does feel like the experience gain starts to deteriorate, but it is still a nice secondary option.

I also recommend players do not skip out the big dungeons too. Even though, they are longer to do, but the rewards is certainly great. There’s potentially good loot you can find them, and it’s a dungeon, so there will be a lot of monsters for you to kill, and that means you are getting a tons of experience.

The Tree of Whispers can sometimes be annoying to do them because sometimes you’ll realize there’s not enough time to do a big dungeon, so you would have to wait for it. Luckily, the moment when the old bounties are gone, you’ll be able to do the new ones right off the bat. That is the one big advantage that The Tree of Whispers provide while the Helltide events don’t. From my experience, the Rare and Legendary loot that you get from the tree itself starts to become worse as you level up. So keep that in mind, most of the stuff will either be used for crafting materials or you can sell them for extra gold.

Strongholds – Finish All of Them

If you still have access to the Strongholds in World Tier 3, you should definitely do them. I did do a couple of them in World Tier 2, but I stopped doing them because I was getting distracted by other things in the game. Luckily, I can say that Strongholds are still an effective way to gain experience even on World Tier 3. Matter of fact, the final Stronghold gave me access to level 70, and that’s where I was able to do the second Capstone Dungeon afterwards. The mobs are generally going to be slightly higher level than you, so you will get additional experience in that regard, but the reward at the end is the juiciest part of it.

I also recommend players to do all of them because some of the Nightmare Dungeons are accessible to the dungeons that are locked behind the Strongholds. If you do these Stronghold missions, you get access to them. They are some of the excellent dungeons that the Nightmare Dungeons can offer mainly because of how easy access you can get towards them without needing to traverse from a long distance. Also, finishing these Stronghold missions will allow you to improve your character because it is tied to the Renown system which will be helpful for World Tier 4: Torment difficulty.

That is all I have for my tips on leveling efficiently on World Tier 3. It was a fun journey to work my way towards beating the second Capstone Dungeon and I am currently capable of handling content on World Tier 4. Hopefully, these tips will help you level up faster and get access to World Tier 4, so you can get your hands on those ancestral items.
