Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred – Why You Shouldn’t Ignore Helltides

Helltides are incredible nowadays because of the many gameplay changes that's been done. They literally give you everything that's important to acquire within Diablo IV's endgame. If you ever feel like you're falling behind in the game, you just simply need to run more Helltides.

Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred - Why You Shouldn't Ignore Helltides

Helltides have always been a crucial part for Diablo IV’s endgame. During the launch days, it was the only way you can farm the Forgotten Soul for upgrading your Legendary equipment. Currently, that is not the case anymore. Players can obtain Forgotten Souls through many sources which do make Helltides not as important to farm for that certain material. With that mentioned, don’t underestimate the value of Helltides.

Nowadays, it’s definitely a different beast than what it used to be. The density of monsters has drastically been increased, they appear more frequently, and the chests can drop Boss Materials. Helltides was an important factor back in the early days of Diablo IV, but it serves a bigger purpose in Diablo IV’s current state. That is mostly because of the big gameplay changes that Blizzard has done to the game.

Ever since Blizzard has done so many balance changes, Helltides is extremely mandatory to farm. If you plan on diving deep into the endgame of Diablo IV, you shouldn’t slack off when it comes to Helltides.

Those Desirable Uniques and Mythic Uniques

Diablo IV has been getting content updates after its inception. Back in the launch day, there was no way to target farm Unique items until now. Farming the Tormented Bossess is an excellent source of getting Uniques and Myhic Uniques. Every good endgame build in Diablo IV needs to have some equipped Uniques and Mythic Uniques. These items are what going to make your favorite builds absolutely wreck the game’s content on higher Torment tiers.

It's always exciting to open up these chests!

It’s always exciting to open up these chests!

For this season of Diablo IV, players will easily find the Living Steel material while running Helltides. If you happen to find the Mystery Chest, you should definitely take advantage of it. You are guaranteed to get a decent amount of Living Steels. These chests will be important if you want to collect a full stack of Living Steels. The chests can also drop The Infernal Horde Compasses and Tributes for your Undercity runs.

You can also find other Boss Materials if you just explore and kill random mobs along the way. Don’t expect them to drop as frequently like the Living Steels, but it still is something you should know. For this season, I highly recommend to kill Grigore many times if you’re looking for your Mythic Uniques.

Legendary Obssession

Helltides are also an excellent source for getting Legendary items too. This makes Helltides a worthwhile location to farm if you need potential upgrades for your items. It is possible to find Ancestral Legendary items too, but you are going to have to grind a lot of Helltides if you want to see them appear. Whether you’re hunting for Legendary and Ancestral Legendary items, doing Helltides is a solid option.

Runes have recently been added if players own the Vessel of Hated campaign. Helltides is sort of decent to when it comes to farming for runes. The monster density is so high, so there is a chance that you can find them the more monsters you kill. I do recommend popping the Silent Chests as you explore within the map. I have managed to find a Legendary Rune before, so make sure you open them!

It is ALWAYS worth it to do the events as you explore the map.

Outside of the Legendary items you get, you can acquire gem fragments. Gems have always played an important role in Diablo IV. With the Vessel of Hatred expansion being out, they now have a brand new tier to them. This also adds value to Helltides if you’re looking to farm some gem fragments.

You can also acquire various objectives for your Tree of Whispers. This also means you can simply smash two birds with one stone at times. That also means you will acquire more loot and rewards.

Respect the Helltides!

As you can see, Helltides is just an excellent source of farming for various things within Diablo IV’s endgame. The more Helltides you do, the more you’ll realize you’re just going to be swimming in loot. That’s a good thing for a game that’s heavily centered on finding items and pushing your builds to their fullest potential.

If you’re simply struggling to progress your Diablo IV journey, I highly recommend to just farm Helltides as many times as you can. It will simply help your journey, and it’s going to allow you to enjoy the endgame experience even more. It is best to do these runs as fast as you can.

Dead bodies everywhere...

Dead bodies everywhere…

I generally like to bounce between Torment II or III. I do Torment II if I’m prioritizing for speed and I have intention on killing the Blood Maiden multiple times. Torment III is what I generally prefer to do because my build can definitely handle it and taking advantage of the better experience gain. Higher difficulties does mean more drops, but it’s not worth it if your build isn’t strong enough.

Now will you excuse me, I need to get back and start farming for more Living Steels!
