Who Will Join Season 2
The latest news shows that there are famous TV show actors and actresses joining The Last of Us Season 2. A few weeks ago, an interesting picture from the cast of the show was released. Looking at the image simply gives you the information that apart from Bella Ramsey, more stars are coming to the series. Pedro Pascal’s absence in the image reminded fans again that Joel will die in the next section.
So far, the presence of the following cast in the next chapter has officially been confirmed: Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), Kaitlyn Dever (Abby), Isabela Merced (Dina), Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Rutina Wesley (Maria), and Young Mazino (Jesse). Also, Catherine O’Hara will be playing as a mysterious character. It sounds like Neil Druckmann, the director of the series and the game, will have more surprises for the fans. Perhaps, we could also see Laura Bailey, who played Abby in the game, in Season 2. Back in the previous section, we saw Troy Baker as James, and Ashley Johnson as Ellie’s mother.
The Story of Season 2
The base of Season 2 will definitely depend on what happened in The Last of Us Part II. Similar to Season 1, which covered the main parts of The Last of Us Part I plus the Left Behind DLC, it will mostly follow the same path as the original game storyline, including almost the same elements. However, there will certainly be variations, as seen in Season 1. In particular, Season 1 Episode 3 fully concentrated on Bill’s emotional life, while the game only glimpsed at his relationship with Frank. The presence of a new enigmatic character can also support this idea.
Fans desire to see what HBO will deliver for the most shocking part of the next story, Joel’s death. Perhaps, we will only be able to observe Pedro Pascal in Ellie’s memories, identical to the actual game. Moreover, The Last of Us Part II introduced two new scary versions of the infected, the Shambler and the Rat King. Seeing them in the show could be very interesting.
The Release Date of Season 2
No official release date has been confirmed for Season 2. But, HBO has set a 2025 return for the popular TV show. Apparently, the next season will have 7 episodes, two episodes fewer than Season 1, but it still needs approval.
