Everyone knows monster girls are best girls. I don't think anyone expected the spider queen from Middle Earth to rank among the arachnae waifus, though. Featured in a new trailer for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, the living human and ghost elf duo find themselves face to face to face with Shelob, a rather nasty master of spiders that went up against Frodo and Sam. Rather than encase them in silk and threaten to suck out their juices, this time Shelob takes on a more pleasing shape to forge an alliance with the ringed hero.
Perhaps I'm too rusty on my Lord of the Rings lore, but I don't recall Shelob ever being able to do that. It wouldn't be surprising if it's not canon that she can, though. The Shadow series has already taken many artistic liberties with the source material, so expecting anything faithful to the books or any of the extended media would be naive.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is slated for an October 10th release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
