Lost Soul Aside is a fast-action fantasy RPG that might be exactly what you’re looking for now that we have a look at it with the 18-minute gameplay trailer. It started development in 2016 with one Chinese developer Yang Bing but is now a 30 person team after joining Sony’s China Hero Project, and creating UltiZero Games.

The game was originally being created for PS4, but has now been announced to run on the PS5. Their official website gives little detail to the game’s premise, but this Twitter post from 2017 reveals some important story details.

After watching the gameplay trailer, we can see how much effort has been put into this title. Combat looks swift and precise as Devil My Cry-like music plays in the background. The fights look unique, and there seem to be a lot of different abilities at your disposal. It’s hard to say if the game will continue without UI, but they may have taken it out just for the trailer.

Kazer, our main playable protagonist, resembles Noctis from Final Fantasy 15. There are clear inspirations from DMC and Final Fantasy, but the game still has its own identity. The graphics are stunning, and you can see the details in each strand of hair or the etchings in their blades. The environments you explore throughout the trailer are beautiful, yet hauntingly empty.

Near the end of the trailer, we see the hero fight against a giant fantastical monster. The fight looks thrilling and stylish, as the rest of the trailer does. This is an exciting new title, which has yet to attain a release date. We’ll have to wait a little longer for more information on Lost Soul Aside.
