How to Unlock All Mounts in Far Far West

Save your hard-earned gold in Far Far West by claiming a free Mythic ride early, then plan your endgame cosmetic upgrades using exact shop prices and trader locations.

How to Unlock All Mounts in Far Far West

Mounts help you cross Far Far West’s wide maps, but the six unlockable mounts are cosmetic and share the same base performance. This guide covers the free starter Roach, the quest-unlocked Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo, and every shop mount up to the 25,000 Gold Legendary Phantom.

1. All Mounts in Far Far West

Far Far West has six mounts split across four rarity tiers. Two are free to obtain through normal story progression, while the other four require purchasing from the mount shop with Gold. The table below provides a quick overview of every mount.

Mount Rarity Gold Cost
Roach Normal Free (Starter)
Rodulph Fine 1,500
Sandy Fine 1,500
Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo Mythic Free (Quest)
Nyxie Mythic 5,000
Phantom Legendary 25,000

Mounts in Far Far West are cosmetic. They share the same base performance regardless of rarity or Gold cost, so your choice comes down to visual preference and how much Gold you want to invest.

2. How to Unlock Every Mount in Far Far West

Two of the six mounts are free through story progression, and the remaining four are purchased from the mount shop in the Saloon hub. The only practical differences between them are the unlock method and cost.

2.1. Roach

Roach, the default starter mount in Far Far West

Roach

Roach is the default starter mount, available in your stable the first time you boot the game. No Gold or quests are required. It gets you moving on day one and covers basic traversal across all maps until you unlock another cosmetic mount or decide to spend Gold on a look you prefer.

  • Rarity: Normal
  • Cost: Free
  • How to unlock: Available in your stable from launch

2.2. Rodulph

Rodulph

Rodulph

Rodulph is the first Fine-tier mount available for purchase. At 1,500 Gold, it is one of the two cheapest cosmetic shop mounts and an early visual alternative to Roach.

  • Rarity: Fine
  • Cost: 1,500 Gold
  • How to unlock: Purchase from The Rootin’ Tootin’ Shack in the Saloon hub

2.3. Sandy

Sandy

Sandy

Sandy is the second Fine-tier mount and costs the same as Rodulph at 1,500 Gold. If you are ready to spend Gold on your first shop mount, the choice between Sandy and Rodulph is entirely a matter of personal preference.

  • Rarity: Fine
  • Cost: 1,500 Gold
  • How to unlock: Purchase from The Rootin’ Tootin’ Shack in the Saloon hub

2.4. Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo

The Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo

Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo is a Mythic mount that costs nothing. It unlocks by completing the Otto questline on the Canyon map as part of normal story progression. This is the best value mount in the game. Do not skip this questline.

  • Rarity: Mythic
  • Cost: Free
  • How to unlock: Complete Otto’s three quests on the Canyon map

To unlock Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo, follow these steps to clear Otto’s quests on the Canyon map:

  1. Load into Canyon on any difficulty.
  2. Find the quest giver point on the map and interact with Otto.
  3. Complete all three quests Otto assigns.
  4. Extract successfully to claim Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo and the Otto skin.

2.5. Nyxie

Nyxie

Nyxie

Nyxie is the purchasable Mythic mount, priced at 5,000 Gold. It is a significant step up in rarity and visual flair from the Fine-tier options, and the most accessible of the two premium shop mounts for players building their Gold reserves steadily.

Farm Gold through vein mining and challenge clears to reach 5,000 before purchasing.

  • Rarity: Mythic
  • Cost: 5,000 Gold
  • How to unlock: Purchase from The Rootin’ Tootin’ Shack in the Saloon hub

2.6. Phantom

Phantom

Phantom

Phantom is the only Legendary mount in the game, locked behind a 25,000 Gold price tag. It is the rarest and most expensive option available, making it the clear endgame cosmetic goal for players who want the Legendary ride on the frontier.

Stack Gold from hidden chests, repeated Canyon Medallion clears, boss kills, and secret medallion routes to get there faster.

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Cost: 25,000 Gold
  • How to unlock: Purchase from The Rootin’ Tootin’ Shack in the Saloon hub

3. Where to Buy Mounts in Far Far West

Rootin’ Tootin’ Shack

All purchasable mounts are sold at The Rootin’ Tootin’ Shack in the Saloon hub. From the Saloon entrance, follow these steps to reach the shop:

  1. Exit the Saloon through the main door.
  2. Walk forward and turn right.
  3. Pass the first shop on your right.
  4. Enter the second shop on your right, located directly opposite the Spells cave.
  5. Interact with the trader inside to browse available mounts and purchase with Gold.

The shop also provides hero customization options from the same menu. Purchased mounts appear in your stable immediately and are available for all future runs.

4. Best Mount to Get First in Far Far West

Since mounts are cosmetic, the only meaningful factor when choosing which to target first is Gold cost vs. rarity. The priority order is straightforward regardless of which maps you run.

Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo is the top priority for any player with Canyon unlocked. It is a Mythic mount that costs nothing and unlocks through the Otto questline as part of normal story progression.

If you care about rarity for the lowest Gold cost, finish Otto’s questline before buying a 1,500 Gold Fine mount; only spend early if you prefer Rodulph or Sandy’s look.

After Flash McEquine V6 Ultra Turbo is secured, the remaining mounts are purely cosmetic purchases. Target them in Gold cost order based on what you can afford:

  • Rodulph or Sandy: 1,500 Gold each; choose whichever visual appeals to you.
  • Nyxie: 5,000 Gold, the mid-tier Mythic option.
  • Phantom: 25,000 Gold, the Legendary endgame cosmetic goal.

Before grinding Gold, check for active promo codes, since milestone codes can reward free Gold. Check the official Far Far West Discord and social channels for any currently active codes before spending time farming a small amount.
