Spooky season is upon us and Marvel Snap is taking full advantage of this, providing us with the beast that is Werewolf By Night (and some great, rare variants of him). This Series 5 card can be bought using 5000 Collector’s Tokens via the Token Shop. Alternatively, you could attempt to pull him from a Spotlight Cache alongside the chance of pulling Silk and Ghost-Spider. However, before you look to purchase him, let’s familiarize ourselves with his card. He is a 3-cost, 3-power card that has the ability: ‘After you play an On Reveal card at another location, move there and gain +2 Power.’ That being said, let’s take a look at the best Werewolf by Night decks in Marvel Snap.

Snapping By Day, Surfing By Night – Silver Surfer Deck
It goes without saying that any 3-cost card is immediately eligible to be somewhat decent in Surfer decks. Albeit, some cards work better than others but regardless of ability, all 3-cost cards get buffed by the Silver Surfer. Regardless of collection level, you’ll have some 3-cost cards that work well in this deck list. That said, let’s take a look at this Werewolf By Night x Silver Surfer deck list:
- Nova (or Forge)
- Goose (or Elsa Bloodstone, Jeff)
- Juggernaut
- Storm
- Maximus
- Killmonger
- Brood
- Werewolf By Night
- Silver Surfer
- Daken (or Spider-Man, Polaris)
- Cosmo
- Shang-Chi (or Sera)
Firstly, one of the most important cards here is Killmonger. This is because he is able to counter the very prevalent Nico Minoru x Thanos list by destroying the infinity stones as well as ruining bounce decks. Furthermore, he can kill Nova and the Shard, buffing up your side of the board. Cosmo is also a great option despite him blocking all of your on-reveal cards. This is because it’s always great to have an option to ruin Hela decks, especially since the recent buffs to discard and the release of Black Knight, Of course, Juggernaut works great also if you manage to push away their Modok from Invisible Woman on turn 5.
In case you didn’t know, if you play an on-reveal card under Cosmo, it will still trigger Werewolf By Night’s ability. This is due to the wording of his card clearly stating ‘if you PLAY an on-reveal card’. Therefore, Cosmo is not that big of a hindrance. Regardless, you can swap him out for any tech card you prefer as the meta shifts. You could also think about including Sera to play more cards and then Dazzler to take advantage of that. However, we didn’t want the board to be too full as it would prevent Werewolf By Night from moving.
Move Out of the Town, There’s a Wolf! – Move Deck
Finally, the move archetype is getting some much-needed love! Ghost-Spider was a great addition yet Spider-Man 2099 was a bit lackluster. Silk found a home in her own ‘Silky Smooth’ deck list but now we’ve got something somewhat solid in our hands with the release of Werewolf By Night. The deck list is as follows:
- Ghost-Spider (or Forge)
- Iron Fist
- Human Torch
- Cloak
- Dagger
- Kraven
- Hulkbuster
- Werewolf By Night
- Vulture
- Doctor Strange
- Spider-Man (or Juggernaut, Shang-Chi)
- Heimdall
This deck plays like a traditional move deck however its turn 6 play is amplified. Instead of Heimdall shifting everything to the left and trying to hold a lane on his own, Werewolf By Night can now jump to his lane and help you win that location. Leaving Multiple Man out of this list was a matter of board space as you generally want to be able to have space for your Werewolf to move around. The rest of the deck plays pretty standardly, allowing you to move cards all across the board. On top of that, you don’t really need any new cards as this deck is mostly series 3 and below.
An alternative turn 6 play would be Juggernaut (if you decide to include him) and Doctor Strange. This way, you can pull your Vulture/Dagger/Torch across, buffing it in the process whilst simultaneously playing Juggernaut in a different lane in order to win it and buff Kraven. There are a lot of intricate combinations that can happen here but be wary of Kingpin, Shadow King, Cosmo, and Fisk Tower. Thankfully, there aren’t any cards in this deck that possess an ongoing effect so you can guarantee a big, bad wolf!
The Wolf Will Bounce, I Mean Pounce – Bounce Deck
Despite being heavily targeted in the previous OTA, bounce lists still perform pretty well. We’ve taken out the nerfed Angela, however, you could still include her in the deck. You could even go as far as playing Silky Smooth, but we wanted to highlight a different type of deck seeing as how Silky Smooth is already popular. This is the deck list:
- The Hood (or Nico Minoru)
- Bast
- Iceman
- Kitty Pryde
- Shadow King (or Angela)
- Luke Cage (or Jeff, Shang)
- Elsa Bloodstone (or Collector)
- Mysterio
- Falcon (or Bishop, Black Widow, Sera)
- Werewolf By Night
- Hit-Monkey
- Beast
One thing to note about this deck is that there are no wrong answers. If you’re still an Angela believer post-nerf, include her! Do you want to add Bishop and maybe even Jeff? Go right ahead! At the end of the day, this deck aims to buff up Hit-Monkey while taking advantage of the cheap cost cards we’ve got. An interesting replacement package would be to include the Wasp, Yellowjacket, Jane, and Thor combo for maximum power on your Hit-Monkey. Spider-Ham would be good in this deck as well! Regardless, just play the cards that you are most comfortable using.
Season pass card Elsa’s nerf didn’t completely render the card useless, in fact, it feels just as great as before. On top of that, bouncing your 1-cost cards all over the place makes it easy to take advantage of locations and avoid traps set by your opponents. If you’ve got Nico, she’d be an excellent addition to this deck, being able to provide you with many spell changes. Discounting Werewolf By Night using Beast could be an interesting line of play if you aim to play the wolf alongside the monkey and the kitty on turn 6.
That being said, these were the absolute best Werewolf By Night decks in Marvel Snap.
