Best Havok Decks in Marvel Snap

This guide aims to highlight the best decks that utilize Marvel Snap's latest release, Havok. His ability grants him the possibility of scaling incredibly vertically. However, his drawback is equally as strong. By taking a look at key synergies, we can determine which decks Havok fits in the best.

Best Havok Decks in Marvel SnapArguably one of the most interesting new card releases in Marvel Snap, Havok has made his way into the game. He is a 2-cost, 0-power card with the ability: After each turn, you lose 1 Max Energy and this gains +4 Power. Already, this effect sounds extremely powerful, being able to net huge numbers vertically. However, the downside is equally as large, limiting your energy total for the rest of the game equal to that of when you played him. For example, if you played him on turn 4, you will continue to only have 4 energy until the end of the game. Furthermore, he is susceptible to Shang-Chi and Shadow King. Nevertheless, let’s take a look at the best Havok decks in Marvel Snap.

Here, you can Havok – Toxic Junk List

One of the most popular and anticipated combos talked about online is Havok and Viper. Although any combo involving Viper generally tends to be draw-dependent and thus unreliable, this deck works. This is because you’ve got a lot of different win conditions and play patterns. In fact, you could even swap out a few cards depending on what style of play you prefer. The deck list is as follows:

  • Nebula
  • The Hood
  • Black Widow (or Carnage, Zabu)
  • Viper
  • Havoc
  • Shadow King
  • Green Goblin (or Debrii)
  • Sentry
  • Shang-Chi
  • Man-Thing (or Typhoid Mary)
  • Annihilus (or Doctor Octopus, Spider-Woman)
  • Doctor Doom (or Alioth)

The goal of this deck is to send Havok over to your opponent on turn 3, limiting their energy output and most likely leading to an immediate retreat. If they decide to stay, you can easily counter their Havok by playing Shadow King or Shang-Chi. However, that isn’t the sole win condition. It mostly serves as a fun combo that you can pull off inconsistently. Instead, you’ll want to pilot this deck as a regular junk deck, sending over The Void, The Hood, and Green Goblin by using Annihilus.

Speaking of Annihilus, not many players might have him. As a result, you can sub Annihilus out for Spider-Woman or rather Doctor Octopus who has risen in popularity as of late. This will help you clog your opponent’s lanes or mess with their plays and total power output. If you do not include Annihilus, then maybe adding Carnage to the deck might help get rid of The Hood and The Void if you do not draw Viper. Lastly, this deck typically runs Alioth but we’ve included Doctor Doom. This is because you’ll be able to capitalize on your opponent’s limited energy by adding horizontal power.

Negative Energy, Negative Deck – Mr. Negative List

Mister Negative has been a fan-favorite deck ever since its initial release. However, it typically is regarded as too inconsistent for ladder. As a result, players prefer to pilot more meta-relevant decks instead. Regardless, this deck still performs well, especially with the inclusion of Magik and the newly buffed Ravonna Renslayer. Here is the deck list:

  • Bast
  • Psylocke
  • Havok
  • Ravonna Renslayer (or Zabu)
  • Mystique
  • Magik
  • Mister Negative
  • Darkhawk (or Wolfsbane, Ironheart, Living Tribunal)
  • Jane Foster Thor
  • Iron Man
  • Knull
  • Arnim Zola

This deck essentially plays as a traditional Mister Negative deck. If you successfully play Ravonna on 2, and Mister Negative on 3, you can play Havok on 4 or 5. This makes him have decent power whilst not worrying about the energy limit due to Mister Negative swapping your cards’ costs. Even if you play Jane Foster on 5, and Havok alongside a few other cards on 6, you’ll have a 0-cost, 6-power Havok which is great considering this is the worst-case scenario. Magik also helps prolong the effect of Havok, netting you extra power.

If you do not have Ravonna Renslayer, she is only 3000 Collector’s Tokens and serves a great purpose, especially after her recent buff. However, if you do not want to purchase her then simply replace her with Zabu. Bast is a great option to help boost any 0-powered cards you draw early so it doesn’t feel as bad playing them normally. Yet, he can be replaced with a card such as Sunspot. If you want to get greedy with it, you could include The Living Tribunal instead of the one-drop altogether.

Limited Cost, Unlimited Output – Kitty Pryde List

What if you genuinely aim to play Havok on turn 2 and scale him up to 20 power? In that case, you’ll need low-cost cards that can win you another lane. You can achieve this by brewing up a mixture full of 1 and 2-cost cards. This is what we’ve gone for:

  • Kitty Pryde
  • Nico Minoru (or Spider-Ham)
  • Nebula
  • Forge (or Bast)
  • Nova (or Iceman)
  • The Hood
  • Armor
  • Angela
  • Carnage
  • Havok
  • Jeff (or Nightcrawler, Mysterio)
  • Bucky Barnes

Kitty Pryde Havok deck list

By playing Armor and Havok in a single lane, you’re almost guaranteed that location. As a result, focus all of your remaining power in another lane. This could involve playing Kitty Pryde repeatedly onto Angela with The Hood’s Demon, Jeff, and Forge. Alternatively, you could Forge your Jeff and access difficult locations. Carnage can eat Bucky, Nova, Forge, or The Hood for some nice power. A cheeky play would be placing Nebula in the third location, acting as bait. This gives your opponent a conundrum, forcing them to cover both bases.

When it comes to replacements, this deck is very flexible. Bast could be a great substitute for Forge as every single target it can hit is beneficial. Furthermore, you could include Mysterio for nice Horizontal synergy with Bast or Forge. Nightcrawler is a great option if you do not have Jeff and Iceman can serve as a nice tool for disruption. If Elsa Bloodstone ever returns to her former glory then maybe she could find a home in this deck but so far it doesn’t look likely. Overall, this isn’t the best deck but it definitely will be fun to experiment with and iterate on further.

That being said, these were the best Havok decks in Marvel Snap.
