Best Black Knight Decks in Marvel Snap

Black Knight is the latest addition to Marvel Snap and we're listing the absolute best decks to use him in. Discard is an archetype that's been getting some love recently with a few buffs here and there. With his unique ability, Black Knight has the potential to create a new style of play for discard-based deck lists.

Best Black Knight Decks in Marvel SnapThe latest card in Marvel Snap is none other than the sword-wielding Black Knight. Before we take a look at what decks he could slot into, it is important to fully understand his ability. He is a 1-cost, 2-power card that reads: after you discard a card, add the Ebony Blade to your hand with that card’s power (once per game). Naturally, Black Knight has a lot of synergy with discard cards. However, he also works well with Zabu as the Ebony Blade is 4-cost. Another thing to note about the Ebony Blade is that it counts as having no ability. Therefore, it technically can be buffed by Patriot and the Washington D.C. location. That being said, these are the best Black Knight decks in Marvel Snap.

A Hela Solid List – Power-Focused Discard

Hela discard decks are a bit jarring at times due to their heavy dependence on card draw. Not only do you need to draw both Hela and MODOK, but you also need to either draw them in a specific order or draw Invisible Woman beforehand. This deck list doesn’t run MODOK and instead focuses on targeted discards. You’ll find that this deck has as much synergy as Juggernaut and Storm, meaning everything feels pretty cohesive. With this in mind, here is the deck list:

  • Blade
  • Black Knight
  • Zabu (or Iron Lad, Wave, Psylocke)
  • Lady Sif
  • Dracula
  • Ghost Rider
  • Silver Samurai (or Sword Master, Gambit, Hellcow)
  • Jubilee
  • Magneto
  • Giganto
  • Hela
  • Infinaut

This deck focuses on targeted discards, allowing you to carefully craft the Ebony Blade’s target. Drawing Black Knight towards the end-game is incredibly frustrating and thus Hela is a solid backup option to help you scrape a victory. However, if you did draw Black Knight late and still want to play him, pairing him up with Lady Sif on turn 4 or 5 is really effective. Another thing to note is Silver Samurai truly feels powerful in this deck, especially with the Zabu discount. This is mainly due to the fact that he is able to discard low-power cards that dominate the meta such as Iron Man, Kitty Pryde, Bishop, Angela, and more. If you plan to include Luke Cage for protection, then maybe Typhoid Mary is an option.

Despite how valuable the Zabu discount can be, he isn’t fully necessary due to the prominent nature of Mobius. Therefore, you could rework the deck a little, removing some 4-costs and adding other options that play better on curve. Speaking of 4-costs, Jubilee’s impact should not be overlooked. She has a good chance of pulling a high-power card due to how top-heavy this deck is. While experimenting with the deck, you could go as far as including a Tribunal package but the deck is a bit clunky as is, so it is not recommended.

Elsapocalypse – Classic Discard With A Twist

The beauty of Marvel Snap deck crafting is that you can always substitute in tech cards that you prefer in order to personalize the deck to your liking. We were enjoying the season pass card Elsa Bloodstone and as stats have shown, she is dominating the current meta. As a result, we’ve decided to include her in this discard-based list that focuses on filling the board. We’ll explain play patterns momentarily, but first, let’s take a look at the deck list:

  • Blade
  • Black Knight
  • Morbius
  • Wolverine (or Zabu, Ghost-Rider, Black Cat)
  • Swarm
  • Colleen Wing
  • Elsa Bloodstone (or Sword Master)
  • Lady Sif
  • MODOK
  • Stature (or Dracula)
  • Black Bolt (or America Chavez)
  • Apocalypse

The first half of this deck looks like your standard discard list. However, there are three cards in here that you wouldn’t normally see in discard. These are Elsa Bloodstone, Stature, and Black Bolt. Elsa is a great addition to try and take advantage of how full the board will be at the end of the game. Your 1 and 2-drop, many copies of Swarm, and discounted Stature will all be able to at least fill two lanes consistently. Therefore, you’ll be able to get a nice boost from Elsa, increasing your overall power in said locations.

In terms of replacements, you could get rid of the Stature, Black Bolt, and Elsa package altogether and create a fully discard-based decklist that sticks to the classic mold and formula. In that case, you’ll want to include the likes of Dracula and Sword Master. However it is worth noting that similarly to Silver Samurai, we find that running Black Bolt is extremely valuable in the current meta. This is because he targets low-cost cards such as Kitty Pryde, Hit-Monkey, Miles Morales, Mysterio, Jeff, Deadpool, Forge, bounce cards in general, and even cards obtained from the raft.

Furthermore, Stature is available alongside Black Knight in their Spotlight Cache, allowing you the chance to obtain both cards if you haven’t already.

Who’s a Hela Good Boy? – Lockjaw Deck

As much as we wanted to try and include a Patriot package to take advantage of the fact that Ebony Blade is a no-ability card, it was to no avail. Hopefully, more unique interactions will reveal themselves as players experiment more and new cards are released into the game. Instead of conjuring up a niche, combo-centric deck, we’ve compiled together a Hela Lockjaw list. This is perfect for cycling cards around and dropping some high-power early. The deck list is as follows:

  • Blade
  • Black Knight
  • Colleen Wing
  • Swarm
  • Lockjaw
  • Lady Sif
  • Gambit (or Sword Master)
  • Dracula (or Vision, Klaw)
  • Infinaut
  • Hela
  • Magneto
  • Death (or America Chavez, Apocalypse, Doctor Doom, Blue Marvel)

First, the cycling of cards is extremely valuable as you do not have to worry about playing on curve. By dumping in a Swarm or two into Lockjaw, you’ll be able to consistently get useful cards back out. You can play Gambit into Lockjaw for a chance to draw him again and destroy yet another card from your opponent’s side or you can throw discard cards in there to try and discard a plethora of cards. Either way, there are still ways to win if you do not draw Hela. In fact, Hela is often only played if your Lockjaw luck isn’t great.

In terms of replacements, the deck itself is pretty versatile, allowing for multiple different options. For example, you could get rid of Gambit and Dracula in favor of other certain cards you prefer. You could include Doctor Doom which works well with Lockjaw or even simply Apocalypse for Dracula and the Ebony Blade. Alioth, Black Widow, Scorpion, Iceman, or Aero could be possible inclusions for more of a disruptive control approach. Overall, there’s a lot you can do with this deck so feel free to slot in the cards that you feel the most comfortable using. Speaking of, there is a Shuri Moon Girl list that is going around but it still needs refining before it can truly shine as it lacks a bit of consistency.

That being said, these were the best Black Knight decks in Marvel Snap. The next new card release is set to be Nico Minoru, who possesses a unique ability that utilizes spells.
