The Beachcombing map condition was added with the Riven Tides update and gives players a new way to uncover buried loot on the beach. To take part, you need the Dockmaster’s Detector, a gadget used to scan the sand and reveal hidden caches.
Beachcombing is especially useful if you are farming Ship Models for the Last Resort Event or looking for extra Riven Tides loot during a raid.

Beachcombing is not a normal chest route where you simply loot buildings. You need to be on Riven Tides during the Beachcombing condition and actively scan the sand with the detector.

2. How to Get Dockmaster’s Detector

The Dockmaster’s Detector is the gadget used to find buried caches during Beachcombing. The most reliable way to get it is through the Avian Alarm Project, where the first stage rewards the detector after you place the bird trap near the buoys on Riven Tides.
It can also appear as loot during Beachcombing sessions, but the Project reward is the cleaner unlock route.
- Open the Avian Alarm Project from the Projects menu.
- Start Stage 1: Initial Flock Intake.
- Load into Riven Tides and go to the Seabed area.
- Find the buoy objective and place the bird trap.
- Return to the Project menu and claim the Dockmaster’s Detector reward.
- Equip it before entering a Beachcombing run.
3. How to Use Dockmaster’s Detector

The Dockmaster’s Detector only matters when the Beachcombing map condition is active on Riven Tides. Bring it in your loadout, go to the sandy beach areas, and sweep the detector over the sand until it starts reacting. The feedback becomes stronger as you move closer to a buried cache, and a dig prompt appears once you reach the correct spot.
- Enter Riven Tides when Beachcombing is active.
- Equip the Dockmaster’s Detector in your loadout.
- Head to the sandy beach areas, especially the northern beach and Seabed side of the map.
- Activate the detector and move slowly across the sand.
- Follow the stronger beeping and light feedback as you get closer.
- Dig when the light turns green, then loot the buried cache by pressing E.

The best Beachcombing cache route is on Riven Tides, mainly around the northern sandy areas and the beach near the Port Authority Building. Use these locations to search Beachcombing caches:
- Beach North of Port Authority Building: Best overall Beachcombing route. Sweep the sand with the Dockmaster’s Detector and follow the signal until the dig prompt appears.
- Northern Sandy Beach Areas: Strong general cache route during Beachcombing. Move slowly across the open sand and scan wide areas instead of hugging only the buildings.
- Seabed Area: Useful if you are already near the Avian Alarm objective route. Check the open sand and exposed beach sections with the detector.
- Azzurro Beach: Strong beach route near the Panorama Azzurro side of the map. Use the detector across the sand instead of only checking hotel interiors, then move slowly along the shoreline for buried cache signals.

The best Beachcombing route is to start near Port Authority, sweep the beach north of the building, then move across the open sand toward the Seabed. This keeps you in the strongest known cache area while still giving you enough room to follow detector signals.

- Move toward the Port Authority Building.
