The Turbine is the new large flying ARC enemy introduced with the Riven Tides update. Unlike normal ARC machines, it is not worth shooting the moment you see it in the sky. The Turbine has a defensive fight pattern, changes position during the raid, and only becomes a realistic damage target when it lands and exposes its weak point.
1. Where to Find the Turbine
Go to Riven Tides when you want to find the ARC Turbine. Check close to the Hotel Paronama Azzuro, it usually spawns close to this location on the Riven Tides map. It can appear in normal Riven Tides raids, and you do not need a specific map condition before searching for it.
Start checking the sky later in the raid, especially after the match has been active for around 15 minutes.
2. All Turbine Phases and Attacks
The Turbine fight is built around light phases. The color of its lights tells you what you should be doing. If you shoot at the wrong time, you waste ammo and expose your position for no real gain.
| Turbine Phase | Light Color | What You Should Do |
|---|---|---|
| Airborne phase | Red | Stay behind cover and do not waste ammo |
| Searching phase | Yellow / Amber | Move indoors or reposition before it lands |
| Grounded phase | Blue | Attack the exposed weak point |
3. Turbine Weak Spots
The Turbine’s main weak point is the exposed center that appears when it lands. Do not treat the whole body as a good target. The outer shell wastes ammo, while the center gives you the best damage during the grounded phase.
| Weak Spot | When to Shoot | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Central rotating mechanism | During the blue grounded phase | Highest priority |
| Yellow exposed parts | During the grounded phase | Secondary target |
| Outer shell/armor | Avoid unless no other target is visible | Low priority |
4. Recommended Loadout for Turbine
The best Turbine loadout gives you armor damage, burst damage, emergency cover, and enough healing for a drawn-out fight. Do not fight it with a weak setup unless you are only testing the encounter.
| Slot | Recommended Gear |
|---|---|
| Primary Weapon | Hullcracker, Bettina, or another strong ARC-damage weapon |
| Secondary Weapon | Anvil, Aphelion, or another accurate backup weapon |
| Throwable | Wolfpack, Showstopper, or other heavy ARC utility |
| Utility | Deadline Mine, Barricade Kit, Snap Hook |
| Healing | Vita Spray, Vita Shots, Sterilized Bandages |
| Extra Supplies | Heavy Ammo, shields, and enough healing for repeated phases |
5. How to Defeat a Turbine
The Turbine is a patience fight. You are not supposed to shoot constantly. The correct strategy is to survive the airborne phase, reposition during the searching phase, and unload damage only when it lands.
- Start the fight from cover. Do not shoot the Turbine from open ground. Begin near a building, wall, or large structure so you can break line of sight when it attacks.
- Wait for the blue grounded phase. Ignore the Turbine while it is flying with red lights. When it begins shifting toward a landing phase, reload, heal, and prepare to fire.
- Shoot the exposed center. Once it lands, aim at the central rotating mechanism instead of the outer armor. This is where your strongest damage should go.
- Use heavy damage in short bursts. Fire your Hullcracker, Anvil, Wolfpack, or other heavy tools during the grounded window, then stop wasting ammo when it takes off.
- Reposition after each damage window. Move to another piece of cover if the area becomes unsafe, especially if lightning pressure or other Raiders start closing in.
- Loot quickly once it falls. After destroying the Turbine, move to the wreckage fast, check the central wreck area, grab the Turbine Compressor if it drops, and leave.
6. How to Get Turbine Compressor
The Turbine Compressor is obtained by defeating an ARC Turbine and looting its wreckage. You can also get one from an ARC Courier, but fighting the Turbine is the direct farming method.
The item is mainly needed for Avian Alarm Project progress and advanced utility crafting, so extract as soon as you secure one. Turbine Compressor is used in the following:
- Avian Alarm Project Stage 5: Requires 2 Turbine Compressors for the Critical Warning Birds stage.
- Powered Descender: Requires a Turbine Compressor and a Level 3 Utility Station to craft.
