Many players have reported Roblox installation issues arise when trying to install that game with its RobloxPlayerInstaller.exe setup file. For example, this is what a player’s Reddit post said about Roblox not installing: “I’ve decided to redownload Roblox on my laptop so I downloaded the Roblox installer and then opened it. After the progress bar reached like, 90% it immediately closed and didn’t install anything.” Players can’t play Roblox because of such installation issues. This is how you can fix Roblox not installing on a Windows PC.

Run the Roblox Installer as an Administrator
First, try running the Roblox installer file with administrator rights. This will give the installer for Roblox full system access rights. Right-click the RobloxPlayerInstaller.exe file and select Run as administrator on the context menu.
Try Installing With RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe File
Some players have confirmed they’ve fixed Roblox not installing by running a RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file. You can find this file within a Roblox data folder that appears after running the installer. This is how you can run the RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file.
- Simultaneously press the Windows logo + R keys, input %localappdata%, and click OK.
- Open the Roblox folder in the Local directory.
- Next, double-click Versions.
- Click the Date modified column to show the most recent folders and files at the top.
- Open the most recent version subfolder.
- Double-click the RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file. If that doesn’t work, right-click that file and select Run as administrator.
You can also download a RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file from an alternative website source. Open this RobloxPlayer.exe page and click the Download latest Version button for Roblox Player Launcher there. Then try installing Roblox with RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe.
Erase the Roblox Data Folder
If resolution two doesn’t work for you, try erasing the Roblox data folder to fix Roblox not installing. Doing this might clear corrupted data causing installation issues. You can delete the Roblox data folder like this.
- Bring up the Local directory with Run as instructed for step one of the previous potential fix.
- Click the Roblox data folder once to select rather than open it.
- Select the Delete option on Explorer’s command bar or Home tab.
Temporarily Disable Antivirus Shields
Antivirus shields can sometimes cause software installation issues to arise on Windows PCs. You can prevent these false flags from occurring by temporarily disabling antivirus shields. So, try temporarily turning off the Real-time protection option in Windows Security, as covered on this Microsoft help page, before attempting to install Roblox.
If you have installed a third-party security app, disable its alternative antivirus shield. The usual way to do this is to right-click its system tray icon and select a context menu option for disabling the antivirus shield. Or look for a disable antivirus option within the settings tabs of your software.
Temporarily Disable Windows Defender Firewall
A Windows firewall block could be another possible reason for Roblox not installing on your PC. A firewall can block an installer’s server communication. You can ensure this can’t happen by temporarily disabling Windows Defender Firewall when attempting to install Roblox. Check out this Microsoft page for details about how to turn off the Windows Defender Firewall.
Of course, there are also many third-party firewall alternatives. Is there a third-party firewall installed on your PC? If so, turn it off before installing Roblox.
Download and Install Roblox Via Microsoft Store
If none of the potential solutions above fix Roblox not installing, try installing the alternative Microsoft Store app for the game instead. This is a different installation method, for which you don’t need to run any Roblox setup file. These are the steps for installing Roblox via MS Store.
- Click Start on your PC’s taskbar.
- Select Microsoft Store to open that app.
- Input Roblox in MS Store’s search box, and select the match app result.
- Click Get to install Roblox.
Those potential resolutions will usually fix Roblox not installing on Windows 11/10 PCs. Although nothing is guaranteed, they are solutions that have worked for many players who’ve needed to resolve installation issues. If they’re not enough, consider contacting the support service for the game via this Roblox page.
