Wuthering Waves is Giving Away a Free 5-Star as Compensation for Launch Issues Compensation for Launch IssuesWuthering Waves has just announced another set of compensation rewards that it will be sending all players as an apology for the game’s current launch issues, including another free standard 5-Star Resonator.

Since launching on May 23rd, Wuthering Waves has been hit by a barrage of complaints and critiques, largely stemming from some very uneven optimisation and crippling technical performance issues. Unlucky players have been faced with immense stuttering, incredible amounts of lag, and a variety of bugs and glitches to make things worse. Alongside these more mechanical problems, Rovers have also expressed disappointment at the game’s slow and fantasy-verb-heavy storyline and other issues, all of which have compounded into a less-than-ideal opening gambit for the budding gacha title.

Fortunately, Kuro Games is more than aware of the issues and, alongside directly fixing these problems with various hotfixes and patches, they have begun offering compensation rewards to all players. Gacha games are no stranger to compensation, with most gacha titles offering players pulls or currency whenever the game needs to go offline or a game-breaking bug emerges. However, Kuro is taking things one step further, giving all players a free 5-star character of their choice as compensation.

First announced on Bilili, the official Wuthering Waves Twitter account has since tweeted out the following statement regarding compensation for Wuthering Waves’ launch problems. This was also accompanied by a more in-depth blog post on the Wuthering Waves website.

Dear Rovers,

After yesterday’s post, we have some new updates to share with you regarding our future plans for game improvements.

We will be giving out Radiant Tides*10 and a free custom 5-Star Standard Resonator voucher as a token of gratitude for your support.

The most surprising announcement is easily the free 5-Star Standard Resonator voucher. Between the Novice Convene and the Beginner’s Choice Convene, all Rovers already had the opportunity to earn two standard 5-Star units quite early into the game, with this new voucher giving everyone a third for absolutely three. As for who’s on the voucher, you have the choice of Encore, Verina, Calcharo, Jianxin, or Lingyang. According to the official post on the Wuthering Waves website, the voucher, as well as the 10 limited pulls, will arrive in everyone’s mailbox on May 26th and will be available until May 22nd 2025, allowing everyone who plays WuWa within the next year to get a free 5-Star Resonator right away.

This actually isn’t the first batch of apologems Kuro Games has issued as part of their post-launch support for Wuthering Waves. Just yesterday, they also announced via Twitter that they would be sending all players 10 Lustrous Fates, the currency used to pull on the Novice Convene, Beginner’s Choice Convene, and both Permanent Convenes.
