We got some juicy details from the latest showcase for Resident Evil, once again hosted by Brittney Brombacher from What’s Good Games. We got a lot of news across different forms of media as the franchise has spanned across everything imaginable in its 25-year history. Let’s get into all of the gory information from TV shows, collaborations, and, yes, some sexy vampire ladies.
Yes, another new trailer was shown at the event. We got a deeper look at the story as players will return to play as Ethan Winters as he looks for his daughter. He will meet surviving villagers who have had their community torn apart by a new threat for the Resident Evil 7 protagonist. A closer look at Lady Dimitrescu, her brother, and other villains we will inevitably have to kill and possibly watch turn into weird tentacle monsters, which is a classic trope for these games.
No, tentacle monsters are not confirmed, but it is good to be prepared for that when playing a new entry of the series.

The Mercenaries: A classic mode returns
Remember Mercenaries? The classic arcade game mode is returning to Village with a few twists. For those unfamiliar, it tests your skills to reach objectives as fast as you can as you fight your way through environments full of enemies.
While the campaign will see the return of a merchant as it is heavily inspired by Resident Evil 4, you will also get a shop in this optional mode for those of you looking for more action and fewer scares. In between levels, you will purchase new weapons and gear to prepare for the next area. You can even customize and upgrade what you bought to get an extra edge over the werewolves and other monstrosities that await you.
Powerup abilities will be scattered throughout each level. You can get boosts in damage of certain weapon types, increased movement speed, and so much more.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Trailer and Release Window
The upcoming CG animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness has a new trailer. We got a deeper look at the story that will revolve around Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Taking two years after Resident Evil 4, the White House is hit by a zombie outbreak, so the two leads will have to survive while protecting the president.
The Netflix series will arrive this July. No solid date was placed yet, but at least we have an idea when to expect the show.
Resident Evil 4 VR
That’s right; Resident Evil 4 is hitting virtual reality. As one of the biggest surprise details from the Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom is partnering with Oculus Studios and Armature Studio to bring the classic game into VR on the Oculus 2. More will be shown during the Oculus Gaming Showcase on April 21.
Dead By Daylight Collaboration
For the 25th anniversary, Capcom and Behaviour Interactive are joining forces to bring a Resident Evil chapter to Dead By Daylight. All we know is that it will hit in June with an Umbrella charm to show off your love for all things zombies, tentacle monsters, and tall vampire ladies who will stomp on you. Behaviour Interactive will give more details on May 25 for the crossover.
This is not the first time the 4v1 horror game has dipped its toes into other universes. From video game characters like Pyramid Head from Silent Hill to Michael Myers from Halloween, this is a fitting addition to its ever-growing roster of terrifying characters.
