PlayStation’s State of Play Coming This Thursday

Sony will host a 30-minute live broadcast event on its official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels this Thursday at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET as part of their State Of Play series, during which it plans to make a number of announcements for upcoming titles on PS4 and PS5.

PlayStation’s State of Play event is finally making its long-awaited comeback. After an extended period of silence, it looks as though the Japanese developers are finally ready once again to lift the veil and show the entire gaming industry what it has planned for the future of its consoles.

A post from the company’s official Twitter page pointed out that this upcoming Thursday, fans will once again be treated to one of PlayStation’s State of Play broadcasts. According to Sony, the show will run for about 30 minutes and will focus purely on the games, with no new hardware or accessories expected to be unveiled.

A number of highly expected upcoming titles by Sony’s first and third-party developers are anticipated to make an appearance during the show. Most notable among them is the sequel to Guerilla’s futuristic franchise Horizon Forbidden West, the new entry to Santa Monica Studio’s massive action-adventure series God Of War Ragnarok or even the latest addition to Square Enix’s flagship franchise, Final Fantasy XVI.

This announcement comes hot off the heels of the latest news coming from Sony in regards to its ventures within the realm of virtual reality. More specifically, the company has announced that a new model based on the PS VR headset is being developed, yet it will not be released any time this year.

PlayStation’s State of Play will begin this Thursday at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET/ 10 PM GMT and can be viewed live on the company’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
