In the latest bewitching Bayonetta 3 trailer, many of which have been appearing everywhere this month, a devastating plot point is revealed. Possible spoilers, so look away now if you haven’t seen the trailers! Bayonetta dies. Or, one of them does, anyway… It’s a long story. At the very beginning of the trailer, we see our beloved witch fall at the hands of a villain. For the first time ever, she loses a battle.
While I’d have thought this would be a huge spoiler, it’s actually only the tip of the iceberg. As it turns out, there are many different Bayonettas in this game. This Bayonetta 3 trailer confirms the multiverse theory circling around the internet, and might even prove the Cereza theory. The character that dies at the start of this trailer is none other than the one who dies in the original teaser trailer for the third instalment, shown all the way back in 2018. We already saw her die there, but seeing it with actual voice acting was more intense.
