The first set of drip marketing for Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero has begun rolling out across social media as Version 1.3, which features Yanagi and Lighter as featured S-Rank Agents, draws ever closer. In this first set of images, 1.4’s first S-Rank Agent has been revealed as Asaba Harumasa, a laid-back member of the elite Ethereal hunting squad Section 6.
Continuing the trend of Section 6 copying their element and class combination from Belobog Industries, Harumasa is a new S-Rank Electric Attacker Agent, the same combination as Anton. Harumasa is also the second male S-Rank Agent, coming just after the introduction of Lighter in Version 1.3. In combat, Harumasa wields a long bow and, if he’s anything like the other Section 6 members, it will likely transform into another kind of weapon: Soukaku’s club becomes a standard, Yanagi’s naginata becomes a katana, and Harumasa’s bow looks like it would make some excellent short swords.

Harumasa, “Coward” of Section 6
We’ve met Harumasa, as well as the rest of Section 6, before during our first real venture into Hollow Zero. Section 6 is a specialised Ethereal hunting group that branches out from H.A.N.D. and it is made up of an elite, if quirky, team of characters, including the poetic and mysterious team leader Hoshimi Miyabi. Harumasa appears to be a very laid-back individual, with some even questioning his skills due to his “cowardly” nature. Version 1.3 will feature a deeper look at Section 6 during Miyabi’s Agent Story.
If the terminology caught you off guard, drip marketing is a term in gacha game circles to describe social media posts which reveal an upcoming playable character before they are officially revealed. For Hoyoverse games like ZZZ, Honkai: Star Rail, and Genshin Impact, drip marketing for characters releases a full version before they are added to the game, giving players time to change their spending or saving plans.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 featuring Harumasa launches in late December 2024. Meanwhile, Version 1.3 of Zenless Zone Zero, which stars one of Harumasa’s Section 6 colleagues Yanagi as a playable character, releases on November 6th.
