Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the latest movie from Marvel Studios, and it kicks off Phase 5 of the MCU. With the movie out now in many countries worldwide, we now know the Rotten Tomatoes scores for the film. As it stands right now, it looks like the general movie-going audience seems to like the film more than the critics do. That being said, the movie isn’t as universally loved as previous MCU films like Avengers: Endgame or Spider-Man: No Way Home.
If we visit Rotten Tomatoes right now, the critic score for the film is currently at 48% based on 292 reviews. 140 reviews are fresh, but 152 reviews are rotten. The average score from critics is 5.70/10 meaning we are looking at a lot of 2 or 3-star reviews from the movie.
The critic’s consensus says: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania mostly lacks the spark of fun that elevated earlier adventures, but Jonathan Majors’ Kang is a thrilling villain poised to alter the course of the MCU.
On the flip side of this, the audience score for the film is more favorable at 84%. This number is based on more than 2,500 verified ratings from people that have watched the film in the cinema. The audience rating is also higher at 4.2/5 stars.
CinemaScore has tweeted out its reception for the film, and the audience gave it a ‘B’ score. This is quite low when compared to other MCU movies that usually get an A rating.
It will be interesting to see what the final Box Office tally for the film is. It’s currently the second worst-reviewed MCU movie of all time behind Eternals which has a critic’s rating of only 47%. Both Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Eternals are the only rotten movies in the whole MCU franchise.
