Zenless Zone Zero: Yidhari Guide | Best W-Engines, Disc Drives, & Team Pairings

Master Yidhari's skill set in Zenless Zone Zero. This guide covers everything, from her gameplay to the W-Engines, Disc Drives, and teammates that suit her. All of the details you need to maximize damage and gain effects that enable her to take advantage of her HP-draining skills.

Yidhari from Zenless Zone Zero

The second S-Rank agent to arrive in Zenless Zone Zero 2.3 is none other than the game’s first Ice-Rupture Agent, Yidhari the Octopus Thiren. This guide’s goal is to help you get to know, build, and play her better. Before all that though, the main question you have to answer is: Is she worth pulling for?

If you’re looking to build a better Rupture team, then yes. Yidhari’s unique role as an Ice-Rupture Agent in the game makes her an incredibly future-proof DPS Agent to invest in. But pulling for her is just the beginning. Figuring out how to maximize her abilities, equipment, and damage is the tricky part.

1. Zenless Zone Zero: Yidhari Overview (Class, Lore, & Gameplay)

Yidhari’s charged basic attack is cancellable, allowing you to switch Agents mid-animation.

Before getting into the different ways to optimize her kit, it’s best to get yourself acquainted with Yidhari’s character. Yidhari will be Zenless Zone Zero‘s first playable Proxy Agent, which makes her even more unique than her specialty already does. Discover details regarding her lore, gameplay style, and passive ability below.

  • Faction – Spook Shack: Yidhari will join Yuzuha, Alice, Manato, and Lucia as the fifth member of Spook Shack.
  • Background: Revealed in Zenless Zone Zero 2.3’s main and event stories, Yidhari is an orphaned Proxy with a traumatic childhood. She loves tales of the supernatural, which leads her to join the Spook Shack forum.
  • Class- Rupture: The newest Agent specialty in the game, with only three playable Agents belonging to it so far. This role specializes in high damage that ignores enemy armor. Rupture Agents are amazing counters for HP-scaling, one of the main roadblocks players face in endgame content.
  • Gameplay: Similar to Manato, Yidhari’s fighting style relies on her juggling her HP in exchange for bonuses. Her basic attack can be held to charge it up while draining her HP, while her EX Special Attack heals her. Players who enjoy high-risk, high-reward gameplay are in for a treat with Yidhari.
  • Core Passive – Dreamscape Collection: Like Yixuan, Yidhari’s Sheer Force increases by 0.1 for each 1 point of HP. Additionally, as her HP decreases, her skill damage increases, and she also gains 10 Decibels per 1% of HP lost.

Now that you know the basics about Yidhari, it’s time to explore the best gear for her, starting with W-Engines.

2. Best W-Engines for Yidhari

The 3 best W-Engines for Yidhari

Yidhari’s Top W-Engines – Kraken’s Cradle, Puzzle Sphere, and Radiowave Journey

W-Engines are essential to your Agent’s stats and capabilities in Zenless Zone Zero. The right gear will give Yidhari the ability to take advantage of her HP loss from her held basic attack. Below are the three best W-Engines for Yidhari – from her unique exclusive to useful free-to-play and New Eridu Fund alternatives.

2.1 Kraken’s Cradle – Yidhari’s Exclusive W-Engine

How To Obtain Kraken’s Cradle

You can pull for Kraken’s Cradle in the W-Engine banner that releases with Yidhari.

Kraken’s Cradle Effect

This W-Engine increases the user’s Ice Sheer DMG by 6% whenever they receive damage. That buff can stack up to three times for up to 25 seconds. Each stack has a separate duration timer.

Additionally, when the Agent’s HP drops below 50%, they gain a 20% Crit Rate increase. This buff syncs perfectly with Yidhari’s skills and further rewards risk-taking players. If you prefer constantly staying under 50% HP to keep your damage up, Kraken’s Cradle is an amazing addition to your collection.

Best Use Case

Kraken’s Cradle is Yidhari’s exclusive W-Engine, so its effects all benefit her kit. It encourages aggressive gameplay by increasing her damage output when taking damage from enemies or her own skills.

While Kraken’s Cradle is the best overall pick for Yidhari, players who didn’t manage to pull for it can rely on a free-to-play option like Puzzle Sphere.

2.2 Alternative #1: Puzzle Sphere – The Perfect F2P Solution

The Puzzle Sphere screen

Puzzle Sphere will give Yidhari’s EX Special Attack even more utility than it already has.

How To Obtain Puzzle Sphere

Puzzle Sphere can drop from any of the available banners. You can also purchase it in Sixth Street’s Box Galaxy.

Puzzle Sphere Effect

Performing EX Special Attacks will increase the user’s Crit DMG for 12s. Additionally, if their HP drops below 50%, their EX Special Attack DMG increases. The values for both of these buffs will depend on what level your Puzzle Sphere is at.

Yidhari’s kit is all about alternating her charged Basic Attack and EX Special Attack, so the Puzzle Sphere works surprisingly well with her. Moreover, it once again benefits aggressive players who prefer keeping their HP low for buffs.

Best Use Case

Puzzle Sphere’s focus on Crit DMG makes it exceptionally useful for players who have high Crit stat rolls on their Disc Drives. Be sure to have Yidhari’s Basic Attack and EX Special Attack upgraded as much as you can to fully bring out this W-Engine’s burst damage potential.

Puzzle Sphere is relatively free and effective, but if you already have it equipped on another Rupture Agent, you can also try out Radiowave Journey.

2.3 Alternative #2: Radiowave Journey – A Substitute for New Eridu City Fund Users

Radiowave Journey is also a great choice for other Rupture Agents like Yixuan.

How To Obtain Radiowave Journey

You can get Radiowave Journey by purchasing the premium version of the New Eridu City Fund (ZZZ‘s battle pass) and reaching level 30 in it.

Radiowave Journey Effect

Radiowave Journey’s effect buffs the user’s Sheer Force by a certain amount, depending on its level, whenever they perform a Chain Attack or Ultimate. The buff stacks up to 3 times and lasts 12s, with each stack having a separate duration counter.

Yidhari isn’t particularly built for Chain Attacks and Ultimates. However, Radiowave Journey is simply one of the few options available for Rupture Agents at the moment. This works for players who prefer playing it safe and increasing Yidhari’s damage potential without sacrificing too much health.

Best Use Case

Radiowave Journey is a more unconventional choice that’s suited for newer players. If you’re not too comfortable with constantly having lower than 50% HP, this W-Engine will buff Yidhari’s Sheer Force without always resorting to HP drains.

Once you’ve picked the W-Engine that suits your playstyle, the next step is to start rolling for Disc Drive stats.

3. The Best Disc Drive Sets and Stats To Give Yidhari That Final Push

Go for 4pc Yunkui Tales and 2pc Branch & Blade song if you already have decent Crit Rate.

Disc Drives will boost Yidhari’s stats, but finding the perfect roll is purely luck-based. The goal is to prioritize the stats that matter most to an Ice Rupture Agent; however, it can take a ton of time and resources. So, you don’t have to meet all the stats listed, but try to get as close to them as possible.

Recommended Disc Drive Sets

  • 4-Piece of Yunkui Tales: Its effect boosts the Yidhari’s HP, which in turn increases her Sheer Force Damage due to her passive ability. It will also increase her Crit Rate and further buff her Sheer DMG whenever she uses an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate.
  • 2-Piece of Woodpecker Electro (Crit Rate)/Branch & Blade Song (Crit DMG)/Polar Metal (Ice DMG): The 2-Piece Disc Drive you choose should depend on the stats you manage to roll on your Yunkui Tales Drives. Pick the set that will boost your lowest stat.

Priority Disc Drive Stats

  • Disc Drive 4 Main Stat – Crit Rate or Crit DMG: Rupture Agents are usually going to be your main DPS units. So, boosting their Crit stats is always recommended, similar to Attack Agents.
  • Disc Drive 5 Main Stat – Ice DMG or ATK: These stats will allow you to further invest in raw damage.
  • Disc Drive 6 Main Stat – HP: Yidhari’s Core Passive makes her benefit a lot, both offensively and defensively, the higher her health pool is. Having a higher Max HP also increases survivability when using her charged basic attack.

Recommended Disc Drive Substats

HP > Crit Rate > Crit DMG > ATK

HP will be your highest priority since it’s basically a two-for-one bonus with Yidhari. Skip rolls with the stats DEF, Anomaly Mastery, Anomaly Proficiency, and PEN, as they don’t matter much to Rupture Agents.

When you’re finally satisfied with the Disc Drive stats you have, it’s time to start thinking about which Agents pair with Yidhari the best.

4. Best Yidhari-Centered Team Compositions

Lucia’s Support Abilities perfectly complement Rupture Agents like Yidhari.

Discover which teams will bring out Yidhari’s full DPS potential. Her kit makes her primarily built for Rupture teams. There currently aren’t a lot of Agents built for Rupture teams, making it easy to see which ones work well with Yidhari. Below are some teams you should consider:

Team #1: Yixuan, Lucia, & Yidhari

A team featuing Yixuan, Lucia, and Yidhari

The best Rupture team for wiping out high-armor enemies.

Lucia, the newest Support character, is built specifically to assist Rupture characters. She buffs her teammates’ Max HP through her Darkbreaker effect, which also makes enemies more vulnerable to Sheer DMG.

Both Yidhari and Yixuan‘s Sheer DMG scale with their Max HP. This synergy makes Lucia the best Support option for Rupture teams.

Yixuan‘s role here is to be a secondary DPS who’ll also benefit from Sheer DMG buffs. For a more budget-friendly option, you can swap her for Manato, which also forms an all-Spook Shack lineup.

If you prefer a more classic team composition with Stun, Support, and DPS Agents, try using Ju Fufu and Astra Yao instead. This team feels more familiar for veteran players while still allowing Yidhari’s playstyle to shine.

Team #2: Ju Fufu, Astra Yao, & Yidhari

Ju Fufu's hilarious trailer thumbnail

Yunkui Summit’s Tiger Thiren is the best Stunner for Rupture Teams.

Technically, any other Stun agent could replace Ju Fufu here, but she’s slightly better due to her passive that refunds 300 Decibels whenever an Attack or Rupture Agent uses their Ultimate.

Astra Yao is generally considered the best Support Agent for Stun-Attack teams, but she’s also considerably effective in Rupture teams. She’ll boost the team’s overall ATK while also healing them with her Ultimate. Immediately switch to Yidhari after Astra triggers her buffs to quickly dispose of your enemies.

Yidhari is the only DPS main for a team like this, so make sure to build her well and master her kit when attempting this team.
