Version 1.2 of Zenless Zone Zero marks the arrival of the game’s first S-Rank Defence Agent, Caesar King, the leader of the Sons of Calydon. With a brash and blunt personality, Caesar isn’t the most complicated or intelligent individual, although she still manages to run the Sons like a well-oiled machine. With the respect and love of her family, Caesar concerns herself with strength and power, boasting great martial prowess with the sword and shield which she uses to clean up any messes which come her way in the Outer Ring.
As a combatant, Caesar’s playstyle revolves around blocking and parrying opponents while remaining on the field, giving her a very unique gameplay loop compared to other Agents. She’s also incredibly interesting because of how flexible and multifaceted she is: she has impressive damage and a good deal of bulk, alongside decent Physical Anomaly Build-Up, access to some of the strongest buffs and debuffs in the whole game, a very potent squad-wide shield, and more. Caesar is a jack of all trades and one you certainly want on your roster.
Here’s how to make the best Caesar King build in Zenless Zone Zero. This guide will include an in-depth look at Caesar’s kit and how to play her, the order you should prioritise levelling her Skills, what her best W-Engines and Drive Discs are, and what team compositions she works well in.

Caesar King Release Date and Banner Availability
First and foremost, let’s take a look at when Caesar King will join the playable roster of Zenless Zone Zero and how long her banner will be available in Version 1.2. Caesar is the headlining act of 1.2’s first phase and her banner will go live when the new version update does.
Caesar’s Exclusive Channel, “Ember-Crowned Overlord”, starts on September 25th when Version 1.2 begins and will last for three weeks until October 16th. During this period, any S-Rank Agent you pull on the limited channel has a 50% chance of being Caesar: lose the 50/50 and your next S-Rank is guaranteed to be the featured Agent. In addition, Caesar is joined by Anton and Piper who are both on rate-up on the Ember-Crowned Overlord banner.
Once Caesar’s banner finishes on October 16th, you’ll need to wait for her rerun if you want to add her to your team beyond that point. We haven’t had any characters rerun yet in ZZZ but, if they follow the pattern laid out by Hoyoverse’s other gacha titles, it will take at least six months before Caesar and her signature W-Engine return.
Zenless Zone Zero Caesar Kit Overview
Basic Attack
Caesar’s Basic Attack is her bread-and-butter ability and the one you’ll be using most often, alongside her Special Attack. Her main Basic Attack combo is Rampaging Slash, a series of six strikes with her sword and shield. These attacks all deal Physical DMG.
Meanwhile, Caesar also has access to Dead End, a special version of her Basic Attack which you can trigger by holding Basic Attack while in possession of one or more Assist Points; triggering this attack will have Caesar toss her shield into the air, attacking nearby enemies in all directions and dealing Physical DMG.
Dodge
For most characters in Zenless Zone Zero, Dodge is a rather important skill, especially for squishier characters like supports or DPSs. Caesar, however, is very different. Her regular dodge, Adrift, is like most other dodges in the game, while Hog Rush is her Dash Attack, allowing Caesar to strike forward with her shield in a fierce bash, dealing Physical DMG.
During Hog Rush’s activation, Caesar takes 40% less damage, and when she gets attacked by an enemy, she’ll block with her shield and get knocked back slightly. If you then use her Special Attack or EX Special Attack, Caesar will instantly combo into Retaliation and use either Roaring Thrust or Overpowered Shield Bash, depending on how much Energy you have. Lastly, there’s also Eye For an Eye, Caesar’s Dodge Counter, which causes her to stab at the enemy and deal Physical DMG.
Because of Caesar’s block and parry-heavy playstyle, her Dodge is actually a rather obsolete skill: because her regular Special Attack can Perfect Block attacks just as well as her EX Special Attack can, there are very few situations where you should be using Caesar’s block over her parry. Even the Retaliation combo from her Dash Attack is much easier to trigger with her other abilities. As such, her Dodge, and most of the attacks associated with it, fall by the waist side when compared with the rest of her kit.
Assist
Caesar’s Assist is one of her more important abilities. Even as one of ZZZ’s tankier characters and someone who excels at both Stunning and blocking, Caesar still wants to switch with her allies at a regular cadence, especially if you want to build up Assist Points at a regular cadence. All of her Assist abilities help with that while also giving you another way of quickly entering Caesar’s core Retaliation combo.
Caesar’s Quick Assist is Lane Charge, a simple attack where she jumps onto the field and stabs at enemies in front, dealing Physical DMG. Meanwhile, her Defensive Assist, Aegis Shield, has Caesar parry an enemy blow, dealing massive Daze. You can then follow up Aegis Shield with Aiding Blade, causing Caesar to toss her shield forward, unleashing a powerful spinning attack followed by a slash that deals Physical DMG: similar to her Dash Attack, you can follow this up by using her Special Attack to either use Roaring Thurst or Overpowered Shield Bash to extend her combo.
Just because Caesar can block every attack doesn’t mean that she should and skilled Caesar players will learn that rather quickly. As such, her Assist and its associated abilities are there to give you an extra way to quickly back into her regular rhythm after switching out, especially in the case of giving you a way to quickly activate either Roaring Thrust or Overpowered Shield Bash without needing to use Perfect Block.
Special Attack
Caesar’s Special Attack is the backbone of her entire kit and playstyle. Her standard Special Attack – Shockwave Shield Bash – and her EX Special Attack – Parry Counter – both function almost the exact same way. After using the skill, Caesar will strike forward with her shield, dealing Physical DMG. If she’s hit by an enemy at the beginning of the skill’s activation, it will trigger a Perfect Block, negating the damage once and automatically following up with either Roaring Thrust or Overpowered Shield Bash, depending on how much Energy you have.
Roaring Thrust has Caesar thrust forward with her sword, dealing Physical DMG in front of her. Meanwhile, Overpowered Shield Bash causes Caesar to strike forward with her shield, dealing massive Physical DMG. If she’s hit by an attack at the beginning of this skill, she will trigger a Perfect Block, negating all incoming damage and recovering all the energy used to activate the Skill: however, if you activated this attack via a Perfect Block or Retaliation, you cannot use it to trigger back-to-back Perfect Blocks.
After either of these attacks, Caesar will enter a guard stance, reducing incoming damage by 40%. If she’s attacked during this guard stance, she will block the attack and be knocked back, allowing her to trigger Retaliation once again by using her Special Attack. Lastly, whenever Caesar triggers a Perfect Block, Retaliation, or Defensive Assist, her Impact is increased by 14% for 3s.
There are a lot of aspects to Caesar’s Special Attack but the long and short of it is that you can use it to parry almost any incoming attack while keeping Caesar on the field, whether you have the Energy for the EX variant or not. With enough practice, you’ll be able to constantly parry opponents who come at you, stringing together deadly Roaring Thrusts and Overpowered Shield Bashes to tear through enemy Stun Bars at a rapid pace. These attacks also deal a considerable amount of Physical Anomaly Build-Up, making Caesar quite the terror when it comes to offence, defence, and support.
Chain Attack and Ultimate
Caesar’s final main ability is her Chain Attack, Road Rage Slam, and her Ultimate, Savage Smash. If you select Caesar after triggering a Chain Attack, she will unleash a powerful downward strike at all enemies ahead, dealing massive Physical DMG while also making her invulnerable during the duration of the skill.
On the other hand, if you use Caesar’s Ultimate once the Decibel Rating is at maximum, Caesar will, instead, toss her shield forward, unleashing a powerful spinning attack on all enemies in front, followed by a downward strike, all of which deal massive Physical DMG. Her Ultimate’s Daze damage increases by 65% when you hit shielded enemies.
Caesar’s Core Passive and Additional Ability
Barrier of Resilience is Caesar’s Core Passive. When Caesar activates her EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, Ultimate, or whenever she triggers Overpowered Shield Bash through Retaliation, she buffs all squad members with a Radiant Aegis shield equal to up to 700% of her base Impact + 700 (1400% + 1400 at maximum Core Skill level). This Radiant Aegis shield lasts for 60s and is equipped by the on-field character, with its value shared among all squad members. While this shield is active, the shield bearer’s ATK is increased by 135 (1000) and this buff remains for an additional 5s after Radiant Aegis expires.
Then there’s Battle Spirit, Caesar’s Additional Ability which activates whenever she’s in a squad with another Sons of Calydon member or someone who can activate Defensive Assist. The only characters who cannot activate this requirement are ranged characters who have Evasive Assists, such as Zhu Yuan and Grace. Whenever Caesar activates Perfect Block, Retaliation, Defensive Assist, or Basic Attack: Dead End, she applies a Debuff on all enemies within a 7m radius, increasing the damage they take from all squad members by 25% for 30s.
On one hand, Caesar’s Core Passive is an excellent source of protection, providing all of your characters with a very meaty shield whenever they step onto the battlefield. On the other hand, though, Caesar is also an excellent buffer and support character, increasing the ATK of whoever is on the field for up to 60s while also increasing the damage dealt to all enemies by simply playing her the way she is suppossed to be played. While Caesar herself isn’t as powerful as the other main DPS characters of ZZZ, the sheer amount of utility she has at her disposal is incredible, making her one of the most flexible and powerful units in the entire game.
How to Play Caesar in Zenless Zone Zero
Caesar is a really interesting character for ZZZ because she’s essentially multiple roles at once: she has some decent damage, great buffing and debuffing capabilities, can provide defensive support to the entire team with her Radiant Aegis, inflicts a surprising amount of Physical Anomaly Build Up, and is a pretty great Stunner with her naturally high Impact stat. Her flexible nature is, undoubtedly, her greatest strength, but it can also make Caesar a bit daunting.
When Caesar enters the battlefield, your first priority should be building up your Energy so that you can trigger her EX Special Attack. Start by simply attacking any nearby enemies with your Basic Attack combo: if any enemies come at you, block them with Caesar’s ordinary Special Attack and Roaring Thrust to deal a good deal of damage. Eventually, you’ll get enough Energy to use Parry Counter on an incoming attack, spawning a Radiant Aegis shield and allowing you to counter with Overpowered Shield Bash for massive Physical DMG.
At this point, continue using Caesar’s best attacks – her Special Attack and Retaliation follow-up attacks, as well as her Dead End hold attack – to debuff enemies and refresh Radiant Aegis’ duration. Once you have dealt enough Daze to Stun an opponent, it is time to switch Caesar out for your main DPS. Thanks to the ATK buff from Radiant Aegis, as well as the damage increase from Battle Spirit, your incoming DPS should be able to annihilate anything standing in their path. After that, reprock all of your other buffs and then switch back to Caesar to do it all again.
Here’s Caesar’s main combo in Zenless Zone Zero:
- Basic Attack > Special Attack to Block Incoming Attacks > Basic Attack > EX Special Attack to Perfect Block and spawn Radiant Aegis > Basic Attack / Hold Basic Attack / Special Attack > Trigger Stun > Switch Out
If you’d like a more in-depth breakdown of how to use Caesar, here’s a step-by-step guide on her main combos:
- Begin by attacking any nearby opponents with Caesar’s Basic Attack combo.
- Once an enemy goes to attack you, Perfect Block them with Caesar’s Special Attack and then follow up with Roaring Thurst for high damage.
- Continue attacking enemies and parrying attacks until you can create Caesar’s Radiant Aegis shield with either her EX Special Attack or Overpowered Shield Bash.
- At this point, make sure to use Dead End to debuff all surrounding enemies and keep fighting until you inflict enough Daze to Stun an opponent.
- Switch to your main DPS and make good use of the extra ATK from Radiant Aegis, as well as the damage increase from Battle Spirit.
- Switch back to Caesar once you deal with the Stunned threat.
- Rinse and repeat.
Caesar’s Skill Priority Order
- Special Attack
- Core Passive
- Assist
- Basic Attack
- Ultimate
- Dodge
As Caesar’s most impactful ability, it only makes sense that her Special Attack is at the top of her priority list. While levelling up her Special Attack won’t change the timing or effect of her Perfect Block, it will drastically increase the damage of all attacks associated with it: this includes the initial Shockwave Shield Bash and Parry Counter damage as well as the Roaring Thurst and Overpowered Shield Bash damage. Additionally, levelling this skill up will also increase the Impact increase from switching stances. Most of your time playing Caesar will be spent parrying and blocking opponents and you want to ensure all of those attacks hit hard.
While it isn’t a combat skill, we recommend focusing on levelling Caesar’s Core Passive next. Not only is the extra shield strength very beneficial to you and your squad, but the ATK bonuses provided by Radiant Aegis jump up massively between each level: at Core Passive Lv 1 the ATK bonus is just 135 whereas it goes all the way up to 1000 at Core Passive Lv 6. This is one of the strongest single buffs in all of ZZZ and will benefit almost any character in the game – including Caesar herself – making it a priority when it comes to levelling her skills.
Caesar’s Mindscape Cinema
Get lucky enough to pull multiple copies of Caesar from the Ember-Crowned Overlord banner and any duplicate copies of the Sons of Calydon leader will become consumables used to unlock her Mindscape Cinema. Each character in ZZZ has a total of six Mindscape Cinema slots to fill and each provides very useful bonuses or even completely new passive abilities and effects which can massively boost that Agent’s viability.
- Spearhead Advance: When Caesar enters combat or switches in, she instantly buffs the entire team with a Radiant Aegis shield, which can be can be triggered once every 300s. While Radiant Aegis is active, enemies within a 5m radius of the shield bearer suffer a 15% Attribute DMG RES reduction.
- Legacy of Far Lands: While Radiant Aegis is active during Core Passive: Barrier of Resilience, Caesar’s Energy Generation increases by 10%, and the shield bearer’s attack boost is increased to 150% of its original value.
- Absolute Trust: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2.
- Aries the Battering-Ram: When Caesar uses a Chain Attack or Ultimate, she gains 3 additional Assist Points. If her Energy is below 20, she can activate EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash with 1 Assist Point instead once every 5s.
- Romantic Conquest: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2.
- Overlord’s Will: EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash and Assist Follow-Up is guaranteed to trigger a critical hit. The skill’s DMG is increased by 50% with additional damage of 50% dealt to the primary target. When Caesar uses EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash or Assist Follow-Up, her CRIT Rate is increased by 30% and her CRIT DMG is increased by 60% for 15s.
Caesar’s C1 is a fantastic pick-up for any player and one of her best Mindscapes. A lot of Caesar’s early gameplay is spent parrying and attacking so that you can activate Radiant Aegis from her EX Special Attack, whereas her C1 just has her start the battle with it already active. This means that you’ll instantly benefit from that big ATK bonus. Additionally, the Attribute DMG RES reduction just increases Casear’s viability as a powerful hybrid unit, especially when that is paired with her other buffs and debuffs.
Caesar’s Best W-Engine in ZZZ
Best in Slot: Tusks of Fury
Caesar’s best W-Engine in Zenless Zone Zero is easily her signature Defence W-Engine, Tusks of Fury. You can obtain this S-Rank W-Engine from the W-Engine Channel while Caesar’s Ember-Crowned Overlord banner is still ongoing. As for why it is her best, Tusks of Fury specifically raises both Impact and Shield value, two incredibly important stats when it comes to building and using Caesar in combat. Additionally, it allows Caesar to play an even more impactful role as a pseudo-DPS, psuedo-support hybrid character.
At level 60, Tusks of Fury will provide its wearer with 713 Base ATK as well as a meaty 18% Impact substat and access to the Invincible Rider effect. This increases the Shield value provided by the equipper by 30%. Additionally, after any squad member triggers Interrupt or a Perfect Dodge, all squad members’ DMG increases by 18% and Daze dealt increases by 12% for 20s.
Firstly, the massive amount of Base ATK on Tusks of Fury, paired with the Impact substat (which Caesar uses for her Shield strength), is perfect for increasing her strength as both an offensive and defensive squad member: add the direct Shield strength increase on top of that and Caesar’s support and defensive potential increase even further. Furthermore, Caesar’s Perfect Block will let you quickly, and easily, trigger consistent Interrupts on the enemy, giving skilled players incredibly high uptime on the additional DMG and Daze which improves the output of the entire squad. Simply put, you cannot beat Tusks of Fury as Caesar’s best W-Engine.
Best Replacement W-Engines for Caesar
If you’re low on Polychromes after pulling for Caesar or simply want to save for a future unit, you’ll need to look at replacement W-Engines for outfitting Caesar. Unlike most roles in ZZZ, Defence doesn’t have a standard S-Rank character, which means that there also isn’t an S-Rank Defence W-Engine which players can obtain from either the gacha or the Store. Fortunately, Caesar works incredibly well with most of the other Defence options, especially the ones which players can get their hands on for free.
- Spring Embrace (Battle Pass A-Rank W-Engine): Reduces DMG taken by 7.5%. When attacked, the equipper’s Energy Generation Rate increases by 10% for 12s. When the equipper switches off-field, this buff will be transferred to the new on-field character with its duration refreshed. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
- Original Transmorpher (Craftable A-Rank W-Engine): Increases Max HP by 8%. When attacked, the equipper’s Impact is increased by 10% for 12s.
- Bunny Band (Craftable A-Rank W-Engine): Increases Max HP by 8%. Increases the equipper’s ATK by 10% when they are shielded.
Of these three options, Spring Embrace, the Defence Battle Pass W-Engine, is likely Caesar’s best option. The extra damage reduction is always going to be useful because you will mess up and miss a parry or two here or there, allowing you to stay in the fight for much longer. The extra Energy Generation Rate is where this W-Engine really shines, though, as it will let Caesar steadily build up to her EX Special Attack at an even faster rate as she blocks and parries away enemy blows. Spring Embrace synergizes really well with Caesar’s kit and is a solid replacement option if you need it.
The other two Defence W-Engines for Caesar are also decent. Original Transmorpher’s extra HP is nice, if a bit unexciting, but the real prize is the bonus Impact. Extra Impact is great on Caesar as it allows her to quickly Daze targets as a sort of pseudo-Stunner unit while also improving the strength of Radiant Aegis, her unique shield effect. Zenless Zone Zero’s other craftable Defence W-Engine, Bunny Band, can give your Caesar quite a chunky boost in terms of offence. If you’re skilled with triggering her Perfect Block, you should have almost 100% uptime on Radiant Aegis, which also means 100% uptime on the extra ATK provided by Bunny Band. You can also craft both of these W-Engines at Box Galaxy, allowing you to get them to U5 very quickly.
Caesar’s Best Drive Disc Sets in ZZZ
Despite how flexible Caesar’s kit is, there are only a few Drive Disc sets which work well on her in Zenless Zone Zero. This is mainly due to her scaling – which is almost entirely ATK with a bit of Impact thrown in there – but there are a couple of solid options for those looking to improve their Caesar build either offensively or defensively.
- 4pc Proto Punk + 2pc Shockstar Disco: Increases Shield Effect by 15% and Impact by 6%. When any squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, all squad members deal 15% increased DMG, lasting 10s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
- 2pc Proto Punk + 2pc Shockstar Disco + 2pc Fanged Metal: Increases Shield Effect by 15%, Impact by 6%, and Physical DMG by 10%.
Proto Punk is a new Drive Disc set introduced in Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.2 alongside Caesar and it is perfect for her, especially when you pair it with Shockstar Disco. The bonus Shield Effect from Proto Punk will ensure that your team stays nice and healthy whenever Radiant Aegies is active, allowing you to benefit from its big ATK buff for much longer. As for the 4pc bonus, the extra DMG will be relatively easy to trigger as well, letting Caesar buff the team even further on top of all of her already existing bonuses. The extra Impact from Shockstar Disco is, at this point, simply a nice cherry on top which will make it easier for Caesar to Stun opponents.
If the four-piece bonus on Proto Punk doesn’t excite you, you can simply run three two-piece bonuses and benefit from the smorgasbord of buffs and stat bonuses, instead. Running 2pc Proto Punk, Shockstar Disco, and Fanged Metal will give Casear an injection of meaningful stat bonuses, all of which will aid in either dealing more damage, providing more shields, or stunning enemies faster. Overall, it is less effective than 4pc Punk but it is more useful and far easier to manage, especially if you want to keep Caesar on the field more often than not.
Most Important Stats for Caesar
Caesar’s rather simple stat scaling emboldens her flexible nature. Unlike other Defence characters like Ben Bigger, all of Caesar’s abilities scale almost entirely off of ATK, allowing you to focus entirely on that if you want to directly improve her damage output. This also opens the door for other stats such as CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, Energy Recharge, and, of course, Impact, all of which will greatly improve Caesar’s performance on the battlefield.
Here are the main stats you should be looking for on your Drive Discs for Caesar in Zenless Zone Zero:
- Drive Disc 4: CRIT Rate / ATK%
- Drive Disc 5: ATK% / Physical DMG Bonus
- Drive Disc 6: Impact
Meanwhile, here are the four most important substats which you should be looking for on Caesar’s Drive Discs:
- ATK%
- CRIT Rate
- CRIT DMG
- Anomaly Proficiency
Caesar’s Best Teams in Zenless Zone Zone
Premium Anomaly Caesar Comp (Caesar, Jane, Burnice)
In this team, Caesar is much more of a buffer and supporter than a main damage dealer. As an Anomaly-focused team, most of your damage output is going to come from Assault, Shock, Burn, and Disorder, which Caesar can contribute to herself with her relatively high Physical Anomaly Buildup. Her main role here is to buff all of your allies with Radiant Aegis and then debuff your enemies with Battle Spirit, opening the door for your Anomaly allies to wipe the floor with what’s left. It’s undoubtedly a very powerful composition and one that works pretty well in almost any area of the game.
- Caesar (Tusks of Fury) | 4pc Proto Punk + 2pc Shockstar Disco
- Jane Doe (Sharpened Stinger) | 4pc Fanged Metal + 2pc Freedom Blues
- Burnice (Flamemaker Shaker) | 4pc Chaos Jazz + 2pc Freedom Blues / Grace (Fusion Compiler) | 4pc Chaos Jazz + 2pc Freedom Blues
- Red Moccus Bangboo
Jane is our first DPS for this team comp and she’s the Assault side of our Disorder equation. With her lightning-quick attacks, Jane is adept at quickly and efficiently triggering Assault on wide groups of enemies. While she and Caesar are, in most aspects, polar opposites – with Jane’s playstyle being very dodge-heavy and Caesar’s being block-heavy – they compliment each other very well, with Caesar’s massive Radiant Aegis ATK buff greatly boosting Jane’s Assault damage. Additionally, as we mentioned above, Caesar can aid Jane in getting even more Assault triggers as her attacks will also deal Physical Anomaly Buildup.
Next up is our other Anomaly attacker and this is where you have a choice. The best option for this slot is Burnice, the featured S-Rank Agent of Version 1.2’s second phase and ZZZ’s first Fire Anomaly unit. Not only will she be able to trigger Caesar’s Additional Ability (and vice-versa) but she can also deal damage from off-field, freeing up room for either Caesar or Jane to get in a bit more damage. Of course, Burnice isn’t available yet and many may be hesitant to pull for her after getting Caesar. Worry not, though, as Grace makes a solid substitute. While her off-field capabilities are lacking when compared to Burnice, her Shock application is very reliable and she works excellently with both Jane and Caesar as a constantly switching ATK-scaling DPS.
Premium DPS Caesar Comp (Caesar, Ellen, Soukaku)
Thanks to her flexible nature, Caesar can also work excellently in more standard team competitions in Zenless Zone Zero. Between her ATK buff, her hearty shields, her debuffs and her excellent Stun potential, Caesar can work as a great hybrid unit in most compositions with a standard Attacker and Supporter core. The best team of this nature is likely Ellen and Soukaku, two Ice units who work excellently together and can also work great with Caesar. Most often, you run this team comp with a Stunner like Anby or Qingyi. Not only can Caesar pick up that slack in terms of Stunning opponents but she’s also capable of applying plenty of buffs that both of her squad members can benefit from.
- Caesar (Tusks of Fury) | 4pc Proto Punk + 2pc Shockstar Disco
- Ellen Joe (Deep Sea Visitor) | 4pc Woodpecker Electro + 2pc Polar Metal
- Soukaku (Bashful Demon) | 4pc Swing Jazz + 2pc Polar Metal
- Sharkboo Bangboo
Ellen is one of the strongest main damage dealers in Zenless Zone Zero and a lot of that comes down to her unique Flash Freeze charges. By Dash Attacking or using her Special Attack, Ellen can increase her own CRIT Rate and ATK, leading to some ludicrous damage when paired with supporters like Soukaku. Well, with Caesar, Ellen’s ATK and damage output can go even higher, with the Radiant Aegis shield providing 1000 ATK on its own. With both Caesar and Soukaku’s various buffs in play, Ellen will sweep through anything in her path, dealing absurd amounts of Ice DMG as she does so.
That leaves Soukaku, this composition’s dedicated Support Agent and a really great one for Ice-based teams. With Ellen in the team, Soukaku’s Additional Ability will activate, buffing the entire team’s Ice DMG after consuming a Vortex from Fly the Flag. She, too, scales almost entirely off of ATK, meaning that she will also benefit from Caesar’s Radiant Aegis buff, allowing Soukaku’s own damage and bonuses to receive a nice chunky boost. Soukaku is already Ellen’s best pairing and Caesar just makes this combo even sweeter.
F2P and Low Investment Caesar Comp (Caesar, Corin, Lucy)
The final team we’re recommending for Caesar is an F2P and low investment composition for those who don’t have access to these premium units. Caesar’s flexible nature makes her a solid bet for basically any team composition but there’s one which plays directly into her strengths while also containing characters which all players can obtain for free, namely Corin (who all players will receive from the Mail) and Lucy (who is the main reward from a big event in Version 1.2). Caesar can take a lot more agency and go on the offensive a lot more in this team but she’s still mainly a sub-DPS hybrid, with Corin filling in the role of main DPS and Lucy being our dedicated Supporter.
- Caesar (Original Transmorpher) | 4pc Proto Punk + 2pc Shockstar Disco
- Corin (Housekeeper) | 4pc Woodpecker Electro + 2pc Fanged Metal
- Lucy (Kaboom the Cannon) | 4pc Swing Jazz + 2pc Hormone Punk
- Bangvolver Bangboo
Corin’s playstyle is a perfect mixture of simple and effective. Most of her damage comes from holding her Special Attack, causing massive amounts of damage and interrupting enemies for a good deal of time, too. All of Corin’s attacks scale entirely off of ATK, allowing her to benefit nicely from both Caesar and Lucy’s various bonuses. Additionally, as another Physical unit, Caesar will trigger Corin’s Additional Ability, letting the maid deal significantly more damage to Stunned targets.
Meanwhile, Lucy is one of the most popular Supports in ZZZ alongside Nicole and that’s because she, too, is very effective at buffing her allies with little effort. Her Boars will remain on the field even when she exits it, giving Caesar and Corrin some additional manpower. These Boars will even share the CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate values of Lucy because her Additional Ability will be active thanks to being on the same team as Caesar. As for Lucy’s own bonuses, the Cheer On! effect is very powerful and super easy to activate, allowing Caesar and Corin to benefit from a large dosage of extra ATK.
That was how to make the best Caesar build in Zenless Zone Zero.
