Zenless Zone Zero Asaba Harumasa Build Guide | Best Harumasa W-Engines, Drive Discs, Teams

Learn how to make the best build for Asaba Harumasa, the new free limited S-Rank Electric Attack Agent, in Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 with this easy-to-follow guide. Harumasa is a member of the Section 6 faction with an interesting trap-oriented playstyle that has a very high skill ceiling. Harumasa is free for all players until March 2025, so here's how to build him.

Zenless Zone Zero Asaba Harumasa Build Guide | Best Harumasa W-Engines, Drive Discs, TeamsVersion 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero is special for many reasons and one of those reason is the arrival of Asaba Harumasa as a new playable Agent. Harumasa is a member of the widely regarded and much-loved Section 6 faction and he’s joining 1.4 alongside arguably the most highly anticipated Section 6 member, Hoshimi Miyabi. Stricken with illness and haunted by shadows, Harumasa likes to play himself as a lethargic fool who wants to loaf around all day and get out of work when, in reality, he’s a skilled fighter with a tortured past.

Harumasa is our first limited S-Rank Electric Attack Agent and, more excitingly, he’s also the first limited S-Rank unit to be given out to all players for free. Armed with electric trap arrows and a mechanical bow which doubles as a pair of dual blades, Harumasa is the master at both close and long-ranged combat. His gameplay has a high skill ceiling based around juggling various combos and planting traps with certain skills to extend his Awakened state, a few moments of pure unbridled chaos where Harumasa will engage his foes in brutal melee combat. If you’re still relying on Anton to help you clear the Electric-weak floors of Shiyu Defence or even if you have the powerhouse Anomaly Agent Yanagi, investing in Harumasa is well worth it.

Here’s how to make the best Asaba Harumasa build in Zenless Zone Zero. This guide will include a deep dive into Harumasa’s complicated fit and trap-focused playstyle, as well as recommendations for his best W-Engines, Drive Disc sets, and team compositions.

Harumasa Release Date and Banner Availability

First things first, when is Harumasa’s banner going live and how long will it be available for? Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero is a bit different than usual for several reasons, with the most notable being that Harumasa is being given away to all players for free. If you log in to ZZZ from December 18th (the 1.4 launch date) to March 12th 2025, you will receive the S-Rank Attack Agent Harumasa for free alongside a variety of goodies to quickly ascend him. This is the first big giveaway for Zenless and one of only a few times Hoyoverse has given away a limited unit for free so be sure to log on and grab him.

Alongside the Special Visitor giveaway, Harumasa will still have a traditional banner available in Version 1.4 but that, too, is slightly different than how it is normally done. The other new Agent coming in 1.4 is Hoshimi Miyabi, an incredibly popular unit and someone people have been waiting for since the game launched. Instead of having one Agent available for three weeks in phase one of the patch and the other available for the last three weeks, 1.4 is switching things up massively as both Harumasa and Miyabi’s Exclusive Channels will be available at the same time and run for the entire duration of 1.4.

In short, this means that Harumasa’s Exclusive Channel, “Per Aspera”, will begin on December 18th and last until the end of 1.4, which comes to a close on January 21st. This gives you 6 weeks to pull for Harumasa (or Miyabi, who will be running at the same time) or his signature W-Engine. Any S-Rank Agent you happen to pull on this banner has a 50% chance of being Harumasa: if you lose the 50/50, the next S-Rank you get is guaranteed to be the featured S-Rank on the banner.

Zenless Zone Zero Asaba Harumasa Kit Overview

Basic Attack

Harumasa’s Basic Attack is arguably the most complex part of his kit to understand because it is the nexus of his entire playstyle. If you don’t know how his Basic Attack works or how the components tied to it interact with one another, he’ll just end up as a subpar Electric DPS without much flavour when, in reality, Harumasa has a relatively high skill ceiling because of the complexity inherent in his kit, which starts in his Basic Attack combos.

Firstly, Harumasa’s ordinary Basic Attack is Cloud Piercer, a five-hit combo where he will weave around the battlefield with his bow, dealing both Physical and Electric DMG to opponents. If you move Harumasa while executing any step of Cloud Piercer, you’ll shoot a ranged shot in the direction you’re moving towards which deals Physical DMG. At the end of the Cloud Piercer combo, when Harumasa lands his fifth hit, he’ll spawn two Electro Quivers.

These Electro Quivers are specialised trap arrows that will persist on the field after being created and they are one of the most vital parts of Harumasa’s kit. Up to six Electro Quivers can be present at any one time and Harumasa can generate them in several ways:

  • When an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack hits an enemy or the ground, Harumasa will spawn 6 Electro Quivers.
  • As previously mentioned, he will also generate 2 Electro Quivers after striking an enemy or the ground with the fifth hit of his Basic Attack. Meanwhile, after using his Chain Attack, the fifth hit of Harumasa’s Basic Attack will instead spawn 6 Electro Quivers.
  • When any ally applies an Anomaly Attribute (Shock, Assault, Burn, Freeze, or Corruption) and there are no Electro Quivers already present, Harumasa will instantly spawn 6 Electro Quivers.
Face Off

Face Off

Electro Quivers will remain dormant on the field until Harumasa activates them by using Falling Feather, which is an aimed shot with his bow. After landing the fifth hit of his Basic Attack, a Special Attack, or his Chain Attack, you can hold the Special Attack button to trigger Falling Feather, causing Harumasa to aim his bow and fire an electric-imbued arrow toward any nearby enemies. To aim the shot, hold down the Basic Attack button.

Once a Falling Feather shot has pierced the enemy, any dormant Electro Quivers will spring to life and fire Ha-Ota no Ya at the enemies struck by the Falling Feather. This deals Electric DMG and inflicts them with one stack of Electro Prison for each Electro Quiver present. Electro Prison stacks up to eight times and, once an enemy has two or more stacks, they will become X-Marked, which is important for Harumasa’s core combos.

There’s a lot to digest in this bit but, in short, you’re mainly using Harumasa’s Basic Attack as a vessel to spawn and activate Electro Quivers, as the majority of his damage will come from his Dash Attack and not his Basics. As a ranged Basic Attacker, Harumasa can stay pretty safe as he’s setting up: he’s a trapper, after all, and you’ll need to prepare a battlefield with his Basic Attack if you want the rest of his abilities to shine.

Falling Feather Aimed Shot

Falling Feather Aimed Shot

Dodge

The next ability to discuss is Harumasa’s Dodge which is, deceptively, his most offensive skill and the main source of his damage. His regular Dodge, Dash Attack, and Dodge Counter are all fairly standard, with his ordinary Dash Attack dealing Physical DMG and his Dodge Counter dealing Electric. Harumasa’s fast and frantic playstyle will mean that you’ll be relying on these abilities more often than you see with other DPS characters.

Despite the wall of text in his Basic Attack, it’s Harumasa’s enhanced Dash Attack, Hiten no Tsuru – Slash, which hogs the majority of his damage output. If there are any X-Marked enemies on the field, Harumasa will enter the Awakened state and transform his normal Dash Attack ino Hiten no Tsuru – Slash, a devastating close-range assault where he transforms his longbow into a pair of dual blades.

Activating his Dash Attack while in the Awakened state will cause Harumasa to charge towards the closest X-Marked opponent. When the slash connects, it will remove two stacks of Electro Prison and you can keep pressing the Basic Attack button to continue attacking any remaining X-Marked opponent. Additionally, by holding the Basic Attack, you can quickly transition into a free Falling Feather shot. Once you remove all of the Electro Prison stacks and there are no X-Marked enemies left, Harumasa will exit the Awakened state.

X-Marked Opponents

X-Marked Opponents

Assist

Harumasa’s Assist abilities are… well, standard Assist abilities. The most interesting detail about Harumasa’s Defensive Assist, Yugamae, is that, despite being a long-ranged character, he will parry the opposing blow instead of dodging it, but aside from that, though, nothing stands out as particularly memorable.

As such, it’s no surprise that Harumasa’s Assist is the least important ability in his arsenal. As the main offensive force on your team, Harumasa will be spending most of his time on-field dodging attacks, limiting the viability and importance of any of his Assist abilities. Furthermore, his Assist don’t generate Electro Quivers or anything else that useful, making it a skill most players will forget about when playing Harumasa.

Lightning Blade

Lightning Blade

Special Attack

Nowhere to Hide is Harumasa’s Special Attack. The damage isn’t horrible, especially on the EX Special Attack where it’s actually rather impactful, but the main reason why you’ll be using it isn’t to deal damage. Instead, you’ll be using it to quickly generate 6 Electro Quivers as Harumasa’s Special Attack is a fast and efficient way to get a full set of Quivers onto the field without needing to go through his whole Basic Attack combo.

With an Energy cost of 60, Harumasa’s Special Attack should be pretty consistent in terms of how often you get it. This will allow skilled players to weave in quick Special Attack shots between their Awakened state combos, letting them spawn more Electro Quivers and inflict additional Electro Prison stacks to prolong the damage window.

Aim and Fire

Aim and Fire

Chain Attack

Harumasa’s Chain Attack, Kai – Hanrae, is important for the same reason that his Special Attack is. Sure, the damage is nice, but the real value comes from the Electro Quiver generation as, like his Special Attack, Harumasa will instantly spawn 6 Electro Quivers after triggering his Chain Attack. Additionally, using a Chain Attack also increases the amount of Electro Quivers generated by Harumasa’s next fifth hit, increasing the Quiver generation even further.

Meanwhile, his Ultimate, Zanshin, is all of the damage and none of the utility. Unlike the Chain Attack, it doesn’t generate any Electro Quivers or apply Electro Prison but it does deal very impressive damage and will come in handy now that each unit on a team has its own Decibel rating.

Harumasa’s Core Passive and Additional Ability

Day Break is Harumasa’s Core Passive and it’s a damage-oriented ability focused on making his Awakened state much stronger. First, the CRIT Rate of Hiten no Tsuru – Slash increases by up to 25%, and when it triggers a critical hit against an enemy, he gains 1 stack of Gleaming Edge. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks per use of the skill and stacks up to 6 times overall, with each stack lasting 5s. Each stack of Gleaming Edge increases the CRIT DMG of Hiten no Tsuru – Slash by up to 12%.

Harumasa is the first CRIT-scaling main DPS we’ve gotten in quite some time after a deluge of Anomaly and Attribute-focused units in recent updates. As such, having an innate CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG boost for his most impactful and damaging ability is insanely potent, giving him a massive surge of damage and making his overall output far more consistent. It also rewards players for stacking and juggling as many Electro Quiver combos as possible as the Gleaming Edge buff has a very powerful, but short-lived, effect.

Meanwhile, while Harumasa is in a team with either an Anomlay or Stun character, he’ll also gain access to the Overclock Additional Ability. When Harumasa’s attacks hit Stunned enemies or enemies under Attribute Anomaly, his DMG increases by 40%. Furthermore, when Harumasa’s Falling Feather hits Stunned enemies or enemies under Attribute Anomaly, it will instantly apply 2 stacks of Electro Prison to the target.

Electro Quivers are the first step to inducing Electro Prison and Harumasa’s Additional Ability lets him sidestep that entire process and instantly mark nearby targets. If you’re able to keep that in mind while also reliably spawning and activating Electro Quivers, your Awakened state uptime and Ha-Ota no Ya damage will be absurdly high. It also promotes running Harumasa in mono-Electric compositions, or at least comps where Shock is a reliable effect.

How to Play Harumasa in ZZZ

As an Attack Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, Harumasa is your main frontline fighter and the character you’ll be spending the most time controlling while on the battlefield. When compared to some other CRIT-scaling Attackers, his playstyle is of two distinct halves: in the first half, you play at range and set up your Electro Quiver traps, before activating them to Awaken Harumasa, allowing him to decimate his foes with his Dash Attacks.

After setting up your supports, your priority when getting control of Harumasa is to build up Electro Prison stacks on as many enemies as possible, as fast as possible. To achieve this, you’ll be spamming your Basic Attack while weaving in Chain Attacks and EX Special Attacks, all of which will generate an abundance of Electro Quivers. When you notice six have spawned, be sure to use Falling Feather to trigger them and inflict Electro Prison on any struck enemies.

Once you’ve repeated this cycle a few times and the opponents are under multiple stacks of Electro Prison, it’s time to get messy. Go back to your supports, set up all of your buffs again, and then switch back to Harumasa for a deadly Dash Attack. At this point, Harumasa will be in the Awakened state and, if you applied Electro Prison correctly, you can simply sit back and slash at your foes for the next few moments until all of them are either dead or you’re at the start of the combo once again. If you’re a confident player, you can weave in more Special Attacks and Falling Feather shots to extend the duration of the Awakened state.

Killer in the Mirror

Killer in the Mirror

Here’s a basic moment-to-moment combo guide for Harumasa in Zenless Zone Zero:

  • Basic Attack / Special Attack / Chain Attack > Spawn 6 Electro Quivers > Falling Feather > Dash Attack to trigger the Awakened State > Continue to Dash Attack X-Marked Targets (Use EX Special Attacks + Falling Feather to extend the timer) > Retreat once the Awakened State runs out > Rinse and Repeat

Meanwhile, here’s a more thorough explanation of each action and how it ties into the next, here’s a step-by-step guide for Harumasa Asaba:

  1.  Begin by using Harumasa’s Basic Attack combo as each fifth hit will spawn in 2 Electro Quivers.
  2. Weave in EX Special Attacks and Chain Attacks to generate Electro Quivers more consistently.
  3. When there are 6 Quivers on the field, use Falling Feather to activate them and inflict Electro Prison onto any enemies you hit. If they have two or more stacks, they will become X-Marked.
  4. Continue this sequence until you have inflicted enough Electro Prison stacks.
  5. Once you’re ready, use Harumasa’s Dash Attack to enter the Awakened state and begin hacking away at X-Marked opponents.
  6. Continue using EX Special Attacks to spawn more Electro Quivers and then use Falling Feather to inflict further Electro Prison stacks, increasing the Awakened State’s duration.
  7. When there are no more X-Marked enemies, back off.
  8. Rinse and repeat.

Asaba Harumasa

Harumasa’s Skill Priority Order

  1. Dodge
  2. Core Passive
  3. Basic Attack
  4. Chain Attack
  5. Special Attack
  6. Assist

In terms of increasing Harumasa’s damage output, his Dodge is his most important skill to invest in. Through his Core Passive, Harumasa already gets a massive CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG boost to his enhanced Dash Attack (which scales based on his Dodge level) and the Awakened state is where the majority of your damage with Harumasa is going to come from. At level one, the third hit of his Dash Attack will do 189% of his ATK, whereas at level twelve it will deal 379%, which is a huge increase in damage.

In conjunction with that, you’ll also want to continually improve his Core Passive. As we just described, Harumasa’s Core Passive gives his Awakened Dash Attack a huge CRIT boost, increasing his overall damage output exponentially. Both of these abilities synergise with each other perfectly and should be levelled together for the highest payout.

Meanwhile, even though Harumasa’s Basic Attack is mostly a vessel for spawning and activating Electro Quivers, you’ll be using all of its components consistently enough to deal very good damage with it. Between the Cloud Piercer combo, the Electro Quiver and Ha-Ota no Ya strikes, and the Falling Feather shots, Harumasa will be deploying his Basic Attack so often that you may as well level it up a lot so that you can squeeze out every bit of damage.

Harumasa’s Mindscape Cinema (Duplicates)

Pulling multiple copies of an Agent in Zenless Zone Zero will award you with special consumables used to unlock their Mindscape Cinemas, and Harumasa is no different. Unlocking new nodes in the Mindscape Cinema can drastically improve a unit’s performance by introducing a new ability or by simply improving the stats and bonuses tied to each of their skills.

  1. “High Spirit: The maximum stack limit of Electro Prison increases to 14 stacks. When an Electro Quiver is triggered, 2 consecutive Ha-Oto no Ya will be fired at the target.
  2. Languish: When using a Chain Attack or Ultimate, Harumasa gains 7 stacks of Electro Blitz, up to a max of 7 stacks. While possessing Electro Blitz, the DMG of Dash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru – Slash increases by 50% and Harumasa will consume 1 stack of Electro Blitz once Dash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru – Slash ends.
  3. White Lies: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2.
  4. Occasionally Motivated: Electro Prison now lasts for 20s. When Dash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru – Slash hits enemies, Harumasa gains 30 Decibels once per use of this skill. Upon activating Ultimate, apply maximum stacks of Electro Prison to all on-field enemies.
  5. No One Knows: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2.
  6. Tacit Understanding: After Ha-Oto no Ya hits Stunned enemies or enemies under Attribute Anomalies, Harumasa will ignore 15% of the target’s Electric RES for 12s. Every 12 times Ha-Oto hits an enemy no Ya, it triggers an extra electromagnetic explosion, dealing 1,500% of Harumasa’s ATK to the target as Electric DMG.

Harumasa’s C1 is an incredible pick-up, especially for those who want to learn how to maximise his damage and combo rotations. This ability almost doubles the available Electro Prison stacks, letting you stay in the powerful Awakened state for much longer and, thus, deal more damage. Furthermore, it also lets you use more of Harumasa’s kit back-to-back without needing to constantly fire off Falling Feather shots, which can result in more overall damage for those who understand his core combos.

Harumasa’s Best W-Engines

Best in Slot: Zanshin Herb Case

The best-in-slot Attack W-Engine for Harumasa Asaba in Zenless Zone Zero is easily the Zanshin Herb Case. Available on the Exclusive W-Engine Channel while Harumasa’s Per Aspera Signal Search is live, this S-Rank W-Engine is Harumasa’s signature weapon and it synergises perfectly with the rest of his kind, drastically boosting his damage output while also making his CRIT-focused playstyle far more consistent.

At the highest level, Zanshin Herb Case will provide Harumasa with 713 ATK and a massive 43% CRIT DMG as well as access to the Growth Through Adversity W-Engine ability. First, this increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by a healthy 10%. Secondly, it increases the Electric DMG for the wearer’s Dash Attacks by 40%. Lastly, when any squad member applies an Attribute Anomaly or Stuns an enemy, the equipper’s CRIT Rate increases by an additional 10% for 15s.

The Zanshin Herb Case makes Harumasa far more consistent across the board when it comes to dealing with a lot of damage. The three lots of extra CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate on this W-Engine combined with the bonus CRIT from his Core Passive result in Harumasa’s Dash Attacks having up to 45% bonus CRIT Rate and up to 79% bonus CRIT DMG, on top of the extra 40% Electric DMG. And that’s without considering Drive Disc bonuses. This W-Engine supercharges and doubles down on Harumasa’s most deadly tools, making them even stronger than they already were. Due to the extra Dash Attack DMG being locked to Electric, this does limit the viability of this W-Engine on anyone but Harumasa but that matters very little when we all get him for free.

Zanshin Herb Case

Zanshin Herb Case

Best Replacement W-Engines for Harumasa

Harumasa isn’t the only S-Rank Agent arriving in ZZZ Version 1.4 and, with both the recently announced Astra and Evelyn on the horizon, many players will likely hold off on his signature W-Engine, especially because we’re getting the man himself for free. Don’t fret if that’s the case for you, though, as Harumasa works well with a wide variety of Attack W-Engines, although we won’t be recommending any limited S-Rank Attack W-Engines in this guide as Ellen and Zhu Yuan’s signature W-Engines are too specialised to work effectively on Harumasa.

  • The Brimstone (Gacha S-Rank W-Engine): Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper’s ATK increases by 3.5% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
  • Cannon Rotator (BP A-Rank W-Engine): Increases ATK by 7.5%. Landing a critical hit on an enemy will inflict an additional 200% of ATK as DMG. This effect can trigger once every 8s.
  • Starlight Engine (Craftable A-Rank W-Engine): Launching a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist increases the equipper’s ATK by 12% for 12s.

The Brimstone is Soldier 11’s signature W-Engine and you can obtain it by either purchasing it for 600 Residual Signals in the Store or by getting lucky (or unlucky) on either the Standard or W-Engine banners. Achieving the maximum stacks on The Brimstone’s effect will be very easy to achieve with Harumasa, no matter what stage of his combo you’re at: while he’s setting up Electro Quivers, his Basic Attack spam will ensure that The Brimstone’s ATK bonus remains active, whereas his Dash Attacks will be able to take great advantage of that boost while also adding to the stacks with each hit. This is just a great combo for keeping Harumasa’s damage high without interrupting his gameplay loop.

Meanwhile, Cannon Rotator is a W-Engine which rewards investing in Harumasa’s CRIT values, something that will be very easy to do thanks to the natural CRIT bonuses found in his kit. The ATK boost found on this W-Engine is also great and will ensure that he’s always dealing a little bit more damage, whether he lands a critical hit or not. Honestly, the only real downside is that the effect triggers once every 8 seconds, so you’ll likely only get off one blast per Awakening.

Harumasa’s Best Drive Disc Sets

As a CRIT-focused Attacker Agent in ZZZ, Harumasa’s best Drive Disc sets are very simple to understand as they’re simply here to make him hit harder. However, depending on your team composition, there is a choice to make about which set you run as a 4pc and which one you run as a 2pc. One option performs much better in teams with consistent Shock and Anomaly application, whereas the other performs more consistently across a variety of wider variety of team comps.

Here are the best Drive Disc sets for Harumasa Asaba in Zenless Zone Zero:

  • 4pc Woodpecker Electro + 2pc Thunder Metal: Increases Electric DMG by 10% and CRIT Rate by 8%. Landing a critical hit on an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, or EX Special Attack increases the equipper’s ATK by 9% for 6s.
  • 4pc Thunder Metal + 2pc Woodpecker Electro: Increases Electric DMG by 10% and CRIT Rate by 8%. As long as an enemy in combat is Shocked, the equipper’s ATK is increased by 28%.

4pc Woodpecker and 2pc Thunder Metal is the standard set you’ll want to run if you either don’t want to focus on Shock application or just want a Harumasa build that works anywhere. The extra CRIT Rate and Electric DMG are obviously great as they will improve Harumasa’s consistency and damage output considerably, especially in his Awakened state, but the real magic comes from Woodpecker’s 4pc effect. As we mentioned earlier, Harumasa has a Dash Attack CRIT Rate boost built into his kit, meaning that you’ll be able to reliably trigger the bonus ATK from Woodpecker while in the Awakened state which just means even more damage. This is a super consistent set for Harumasa and a top-tier recommendation.

On the other hand, if you have a fellow Electric Anomaly character like Grace or Yanagi, it may be worth investing in a 4pc Thunder Metal and 2pc Woodpecker combination, instead. You’ll still receive the CRIT Rate and Electric DMG bonuses with this set combination but you’ll also get a huge ATK increase on Shocked targets. While Harumasa is capable of Shocking opponents on his lonesome, it becomes much more reliable with a unit like Grace or Yanagi. This set is much more specific and more limited in scope, although if you can consistently pull it off you’re looking at a much larger damage bonus than with 4pc Woodpecker.

Most Important Stats for Harumasa

Like most CRIT-oriented DPS in Zenless Zone Zero, Harumasa’s most important stats are really easy to understand and there aren’t any odd stats that you’ll need to invest in. No, Harumasa just wants a lot of ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG, all of which directly improve the damage output of his entire kit, with his Awakened Dash Attacks in particular receiving a huge boost from these stats. Additionally, a bit of PEN isn’t unwarranted as it will let Harumasa sneak past the opponent’s defences while in the Awakened state.

Here are the main stats you should be hunting for on Harmuasa’s Drive Disc pieces:

  • Drive Disc 4: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
  • Drive Disc 5: Electric DMG Bonus
  • Drive Disc 6: ATK%

Meanwhile, here are the substats you should be hoping to get on Harumasa’s Drive Discs:

  2. CRIT Rate
  3. CRIT DMG
  4. Flat ATK

Best Harumasa Teams in Zenless Zone Zero

Premium Electric Harumasa Comp

As an Attacker, Harumasa can realistically be the main offence of basically any composition in Zenless Zone Zero, especially thanks to his own array of buffs and bonuses. Although, due to a focus on Shock and his overwhelming amount of Electric DMG, Harumasa does work best in mono-Electric or Electric-focused team comps as they have the capabilities to let him shine brightest. This first team composition will be comprised of Harumasa and two powerful Electric units that are here to actively support Harumasa’s damage output, meaning that there’s no dedicated sub-DPS in this comp. We’ll be using the ever-reliable Qingyi as our Stunner and the dutiful Rina as our Support.

  • Harumasa (Zanshin Herb Case) | 4pc Woodpecker Electro + 2pc Thunder Metal
  • Qingyi (Ice-Jade Teapot) | 4pc Shockstar Disco + 2pc Thunder Metal
  • Rina (Weeping Cradle) | 4pc Freedom Blues + 2pc Swing Jazz
  • Plugboo Bangboo

Qingyi is arguably the best Stun Agent in all of Zenless Zone Zero. She has really high Impact DMG, great synergy with most main DPS characters in the game, and a super easy-to-active Additional Ability. You can throw Qingyi into almost any comp and she’ll work but, in this comp with Harumasa, she performs well. Her ability to add ridiculous damage modifiers to Stunned targets will help massively with Harumasa’s damage, especially if you time his Awakened state to be during that Stun window. Additionally, having Qingyi in the team will trigger Harumasa’s Additional Ability, allowing him to apply free Electro Prison stacks with Falling Feather to greatly speed up his core combo.

Then we have Rina, one of the more underrated Standard Agents. While her damage isn’t anything great, her support capabilities are amazing for this comp. Her Additional Ability, in particular, will give all three Agents in this team increased Shock duration and bonus DMG while there is a Shocked enemy on the field. While this team doesn’t specialise in Shock, you’ll trigger it super often with three Electric Agents acting together as one which, once again, lets Harumasa get off more damage and generate more Electro Quivers. Furthermore, Rina’s Core Passive will boost Qingyi and Harumasa’s PEN stat, allowing them to deal even further damage which penetrates opponents’ defences: pair this with Qingyi’s Stun multipliers and nothing will be left standing.

Premium Electric Harumasa Team

Premium Electric Harumasa Team

Premium Shock Harumasa Comp

Triggering Shock consistently is a great way to ensure that you always have Electro Quivers ready for Harumasa and, while the previous team is certainly competent at triggering Shock (mainly because three Electric Agents in that team), this next comp is adept at it. Not only do you have one of the strongest Defensive support units in the game with Caesar, but you also have a super reliable sub-DPS with Yanagi. While this does mean that you’ll be cutting back on Harumasa’s time in the spotlight, it does mean that you don’t have to rely on his damage as much as with the first team and that you can reap the benefits of Disorder and Shock far more consistently.

  • Harumasa (Zanshin Herb Case) | 4pc Thunder Metal + 2pc Woodpecker Electro
  • Yanagi (Timeweaver) | 4pc Freedom Blues + 2pc Thunder Metal
  • Caesar (Tusks of Fury) | 4pc Proto Punk + 2pc Shockstar Disco
  • Plugboo Bangboo

Yanagi is an incredibly strong Electric Anomaly Agent, mainly because she has absurd Shock application and the ability to trigger Disorder on her own attacks. This is great for the Harumasa team comp as she becomes a reliable sub-DPS who you can either switch to in moments of downtime or as an opener at the start of battle: remember that Electro Quivers will be spawned onto the battlefield whenever an Agent triggers an Anomaly effect, meaning that you can have 6 Quivers ready for Harumasa immediately if you get off a quick Shock with Yanagi. Additionally, her being here activates Harumasa’s Additional Ability.

Meanwhile, Caesar is largely considered one of the best, if not the best, supportive Agents in all of Zenless Zone Zero. Her ability to parry away almost every attack in the game with her Special Attack makes her invaluable in harder content, providing you with a safety net in case you make mistakes with the squishier Yanagi and Harumasa. Furthermore, the ATK bonuses provided by her shield will greatly boost both Yanagi and Harumasa’s damage, leading to quicker KOs in a much safer enviroment. Caesar only needs to pop her Special Attack once and she can remain off-field for up to a minute, letting your Electric DPS shine as a result.
