Weapons are a vital part of a Resonator’s build in Wuthering Waves. They contribute to your unit’s base ATK and provide extremely useful weapon skills and potent substats to help your character deal more damage or better support the team. All players will be given a free 4-star Rover Arsenal Supply Chest as part of Wuthering Waves pre-registration rewards but that only guarantees them a single 4-star weapon. Teams in WuWa are comprised of three members and once you reach endgame, you’ll need all the firepower you can get to clear activities like the Tower of Adversity or Illusive Realm.
If you’re unlucky (or lucky) enough to only roll characters on your Convene pulls, you may be stuck with low-rarity weapons for a long time, at least until Untion Rank 45. Fortunately, Kuro Games have hidden a few free 4-star weapons around the map of Wuthering Waves which adventurous players can track down. While these weapons aren’t the best of the best options (at least, for most units) they will give you a great headstart in the early weeks of WuWa as 4-star options tend to have stronger weapon skills and higher stats.
Here’s a list of all the free 4-star weapons in Wuthering Waves and how to unlock them without spending anything on Convenes.

Dauntless Evernight, 4-Star Broadblade
The first free 4-star weapon we’ll discuss is the Dauntless Evernight, a 4-star Broadblade from the Rover Arsenal collection. While all players can acquire this weapon from the Rover Arsenal Weapon Selector we all received from the Pre-Registration Rewards, you can also obtain it for free by exploring the open world, allowing you to grab a different Rover weapon, instead.
Dauntless Evernight is an interesting weapon and, while it will overshadowed by other 4-star or 5-star options on most Broadblade units, it’s definitely better than any 3-star weapon. As such, no matter who you plan to run it on, you should go and pick it up as soon as possible.
Dauntless Evernight Location
Before we tell you where you can find the Dauntless Evernight, you need to complete the We Promise, We Deliver Exploration Quest first. This is the Port City of Guixu World Quest, the desolate land to the West of Huanglong where you can fight the Inferno Rider. We Promise, We Deliver will automatically be added to your quest log once you reach the prerequisite Union Rank after clearing all acts of the main story.
The primary reason why you need to finish We Promise, We Deliver is that it alters the terrain of the Sea of Flames, the location where you’ll hunt for the Dauntless Evernight. As a result of the events in the quest, new pathways above the Inferno Riders arena will become available which have their own chests and challenges to complete.
If Evernight is your only goal, though, head to the Resonance Beacon inside the Sea of Flames and then walk down the newly made road until you reach the area shown below. Once you’re there, you should notice a stream of wind blowing up from a nearby skyscraper. Jump into the gust, use your glider to soar as high as you can, and then use the Stamina refilling nodes on the side of the wall to scale the rest of the building.
After reaching the top of the ruins, you’ll see the Dauntless Evernight Broadblade stuck in the ground in a small crater. To acquire it, all you need to do is wander over and pick it up, adding a powerful free 4-star Broadblade to your arsenal.

Dauntless Evernight Overview
At maximum level, Dauntless Evernight will have 337 ATK alongside a 61.5% DEF substat. Meanwhile, Dauntless Evernight’s weapon skill is Battlebound and it increases the equipped character’s ATK by 8% and DEF by 15% whenever they use their Intro Skill.
The Dauntless Evernight is a great starting option for any of the three Broadblade units in Wuthering Waves: Jiyan (Aero), Calcharo (Electro), and Taoqi (Havoc). For Jiyan and Calachro, the main benefits of this weapon are going to be the ATK boost from Battlebound, as well as the higher base ATK from Evernight being a 4-star option. Meanwhile, the DEF increase is a nice boost to survivability, even though they would prefer a more offensive substat.
However, of the three Broadblade characters, Evernight feels purpose-built for Taoqi and her unique parry-focused playstyle. Unlike Jiyan or Calcharo, she can take offensive advantage of the DEF% increase from both the weapon substat and weapon skill, as Taoqi’s Timed Counters and Resonance Liberation both scale off of pure DEF%. Additionally, Taoqi’s Intro Skill allows her to block damage and go straight into her Timed Counter combo, meaning that she’ll instantly benefit from Battlebound.
Originite 4-Star Weapon Selector
Instead of being a singular weapon like the Dauntless Evernight, the next free weapons you can obtain come in the form of a 4-star Weapon Selector. This is the Originite Weapon Selector and, despite the name correlating with Originite collection of 3-star weapons, it will give you access to a unique selection of tools from all five weapon types.
Compared to the Evernight, which you can only use if you have a Broadblade unit, this Weapon Selector guarantees you a 4-star weapon for any character. Of course, you’ll only get to keep one of the five weapons but it’s a way to make sure that you have a powerful Rectifier or Pistol for the early period of Wuthering Waves’ launch.
How to Unlock the Originite Weapon Selector
Similar to how we needed to complete an Exploration Quest for Dauntless Evernight, we need to do the same for the Originite Weapon Selector. This time, you need to beat both halves of the Hidden Dangers in Peaceful Life Exploration Quest, which is associated with the Tiger’s Maw region of the map.
Tiger’s Maw is a gigantic mining facility and the quest will involve you trying to sort out many of the mine’s current production issues. However, there’s a big roadblock in this quest because it has two parts. Once you beat the first half, you’ll need to wait a full 24 hours before the next step becomes available: so, if you complete it at 6 PM, you’ll need to wait until 6 PM the next day for part 2 to become available.
Once you complete the second half of Hidden Dangers in Peaceful Life by defeating the Lampylumen Myriad, a new vendor NPC will appear inside Tiger’s Maw. This is Shilang, the owner of Tiger’s Maw Ore and he’ll sell a variety of goods for Lampylumen, the ore exclusively found in the Tiger’s Maw region.
The most expensive item he sells is the Originite Weapon Supply Chest for 80 Lampylumen, which is what you need to buy to acquire one of the free 4-star weapons.

Lampylumen Ore Location
So, where can you find Lampylumen and what does it look like? Lampylumen only appears in the Tiger’s Maw region and appears on the map as thick blue-ish crystals. Destroying each Lampylumen cluster will give you one ore, meaning that you need to destroy 80 individual ore clusters to buy the Supply Chest.
As for where to find the Lampylumen, start on the ground floor of Tiger’s Maw mine before heading into the path which leads to the Lampylumen Myriad. You’ll easily find about 20 Lampylumen clusters along this path. Furthermore, more Lampylumen ore clusters can be found near the Tiger’s Maw Tacet Field and in a locked door unlocked by the Mysterious Cube Side Quest, which you’ll receive after completing Hidden Dangers in Peaceful Life.
Unfortunately, there isn’t Lampylumen on the map to obtain all 80 in a single day. Instead, if you unlock all areas containing Lampylumen, you can get about 40 a day, meaning that you’ll need to make two complete trips to get all the ore you need. Once you have enough, though, head back to Shilang, purchase the Originite Weapon Supply Chest, and redeem it from your Backpack to obtain a free 4-star weapon of your choice.
Originite Weapon Overview
With five different weapons to choose from, it can be hard to decide which one to pick up from the Originite Weapon Selector. All of the weapons have similar Weapon Skills revolving around healing their carriers or increasing their ATK based on their current HP.
- Broadblade#41 (Energy Recharge): When the Resonator’s HP is above 80%, increases ATK by 12%. When the Resonator’s HP is below 40%, restores their HP by 5% for dealing Basic Attack or Heavy Attack DMG.
- Sword#18 (ATK%): When equipped Resonator’s HP drops below 40%, increases Heavy Attack DMG by 18% and restores HP by 5% upon dealing Heavy Attack DMG.
- Pistols#26 (ATK%): When the Resonator takes no damage, increase ATK by 6% every 5s, stacking up to 2 times. This effect lasts for 8s. When the resonator takes damage, reduces the number of stacks by 1 and restores their HP by 5%.
- Gauntlets#21D (Energy Recharge): When the Resonator dashes or dodges, increases ATK by 8%. Increases Counter Attack DMG by 50%, lasting for 8s. When they perform a Counter Attack, restores the Resonator’s HP by 5%.
- Rectifier#25: When Resonance Skill is released, if the Resonator’s HP is below 60%, restores their HP by 5%. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. If the Resonator’s HP is above 60%, increases ATK by 12, lasting for 10s.
In general, you should try and pick up a 4-star option for your main DPS as your first move. For example, if you’re using Encore pick Rectifier#25, whereas if you’re using Rover grab Sword#18, instead. However, in terms of the best weapons from this Supply Chest, the Pistols or the Gauntlets are probably your best bets.
Pistol#26’s ability is easy to activate, grants a high amount of extra damage while promoting safe play, and still heals you if you make a mistake. On top of that, they have the far more useful ATK% substat for even more damage. Meanwhile, Gauntlets#21D aids in the overall flow state of Wuthering Waves by providing extra damage and utility to counterattacks, an extremely useful part of the gameplay loop.

Weapon Crafting
An alternative, and more long-term, method of obtaining the weapons from the Originite Weapon Selector is via Crafting. In Jinzhou, you can visit Uncle Wei to purchase weapons and Ascension materials, but he’s also the arbiter of the Crafting Table where, if you have the right resources, you can create your own 4-star weapons.
To create one weapon, you need two main resources: a specific kind of ore and 2 Standard Weapon Moulds. Depending on the weapon you’re trying to craft, you must obtain 150 Scattlehorn or 150 Indigiote. Gauntlets, Pistols, and Rectifiers need Indigiote, whereas Swords and Broadblades need Scatllehorn. These are the most ore clusters in Sol-3 and you’ll find them all across Wuthering Waves. 150 is a massive ask, though, so prepare to grind for a long time.
As for the Standard Weapon Moulds, this drop exclusively from Weekly Bosses, namely the Bell-Borne Geochelone, Scar, and the Dreamless. Like Weapon Billets in Genshin Impact, you have a chance to obtain one mould each time you spend 60 Waveplate after defeating one of the weekly bosses. This base chance seems much higher than Billets but the Weapon Moulds still aren’t super common. You’ll need two Moulds to create one 4-star weapon, so keep that in mind and remember to do the weekly bosses each week as you can only defeat and redeem three lots of rewards during one week.
That was how to unlock all the free 4-star weapons in Wuthering Waves without summoning on any of the Convenes.
