6 Tanglewood Drive (Small Map)

The first map that the game presents to its players, as it is also the baseline map which serves as a Tutorial stage, will be the 6 Tanglewood Drive map.

6 Tanglewood Drive, or simply Tanglewood, is a small single-story map in Phasmophobia. With its compact layout featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a garage, and a basement, Tanglewood often allows for quick investigations. However, the open floor plan and limited hiding spots can make it quite dangerous during hunts. Players should stay vigilant, as the tight spaces make avoiding the ghost challenging, particularly when closets are inaccessible. The in-game explanation for Tanglewood Drive is as follows:

Where it all began; our first reports of the paranormal came from here. It’s only small, but it holds more secrets than meets the eye.

Key hiding spots include closets in the Foyer, the Boy’s Bedroom, the Nursery, lockers in the Garage, and plywood in the Basement. However, depending on difficulty, some of these spots might be unavailable due to blocking items, limiting your options. Multiplayer games might provide extra spots, but if settings are strict, hiding options may remain limited. Players can also get creative, unofficially using the changing table in the nursery as a last-minute hiding place.

For evading ghosts, Tanglewood has key looping areas such as the Kitchen island, Dining table, and Garage, where players can attempt to stay out of sight behind the car. Bones and Cursed Possessions are scattered across the map in distinct locations, adding layers of complexity to investigations. Bones, for instance, can appear in spots like the Master Bedroom, Nursery, and Dining Room. Cursed objects, such as the Haunted Mirror, Summoning Circle, and Tarot Cards, have set spawn points that players can memorize to gain an edge.

Key Hiding Spots

Depending on the difficulty setting, some hiding spots might be blocked by items, limiting your options. On higher difficulties, plan your path carefully and consider these key spots:

  • Foyer Closets: Two closets are available in the foyer area—one near the nursery and another next to the living room. These are accessible early in the investigation but often get blocked on harder settings.
  • Boy’s Bedroom Closet: Located across from the bed, this closet provides a close hiding spot if the ghost’s activity centers around the bedroom hallway.
  • Nursery: The area behind the crib is the main hiding place here, although the changing table also offers a makeshift spot in emergencies.
  • Garage and Basement: The lockers in the garage and plywood in the basement provide solid cover, though reaching these areas during a hunt can be risky.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Due to the open layout, Tanglewood is one of the better maps for looping during hunts. If you find yourself in a chase, use these spots to buy time:

  • Kitchen Island and Dining Table: These allow for easy circling, which can confuse the ghost momentarily.
  • Garage: The area behind the car provides cover, and you can crouch to further reduce visibility.

Cursed Possession Locations

Each map has cursed possessions that add extra challenges and clues to investigations. Tanglewood’s Cursed Possessions spawn in fixed locations, so make sure to check these spots:

  • Haunted Mirror: Mounted on the wall near the Master Bedroom door in the Living Room.
  • Music Box: Located on the shelf in the Nursery.
  • Ouija Board: Found at the far end of the Basement on a coffee table.
  • Summoning Circle: Near the stairs in the basement area.
  • Tarot Cards: On the end table by the window in the Living Room.
  • Voodoo Doll: Set atop the trash can in the Garage.
  • Monkey Paw: Inside a cabinet in the Dining Room.

10 Ridgeview Court (Small Map)

10 Ridgeview Court, or simply Ridgeview, is a small map in Phasmophobia. It’s a two-story, four-bedroom house with a garage and basement, giving players a mix of open spaces and tight hallways. The layout is fairly spacious on the first floor, but more compact upstairs. Fortunately, closets and several side rooms provide hiding options, though maneuvering through the map during a hunt can be challenging.

The map’s main rooms include four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a garage, and a basement. The Girls’ Bedroom on the upper floor holds Ridgeview’s only teddy bear, and the Master Bedroom includes an attached bathroom and closet. The Upstairs Hallway connects to various rooms, so understanding this layout can help players navigate quickly, especially when trying to escape or locate the ghost room.

This building has a real history of death. Who sold the building to claim its next victims?

Knowing how to take advantage of Ridgeview’s hiding spots and looping areas can make all the difference in a successful investigation. This map has both sanctioned and makeshift hiding places, along with spots for looping the ghost, which helps players dodge during hunts. Below are more specific tips for hiding, looping, and locating essential map elements.

Key Hiding Spots

Depending on the difficulty, some hiding spots may be blocked by random items, reducing options. On higher difficulties, it’s wise to plan your route and keep these key locations in mind:

  • Living Room: A stack of storage crates in the corner near the fireplace makes for a decent hiding spot in emergencies.
  • Garage and Basement Lockers: Both have lockers for hiding, though the garage’s locker is closer to the entry door. In the basement, lockers across from the door provide cover but reaching them during a hunt can be risky.
  • Upstairs Hallway Closets: Two closets—one near the Boys’ Bedroom and another between the Girls’ and Teen Boys’ Bedrooms—are available at the top of the stairs.
  • Master Bedroom Closet: The closet here is accessed through the attached bathroom and offers a tucked-away hiding space.
  • Bonus Spots: Behind the fridge in the kitchen (arguably the best hiding spot on Ridgeview) or near the piano in the hallway can work as temporary hiding options.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Ridgeview’s layout offers a few areas suitable for looping, allowing players to stay ahead of the ghost temporarily:

  • Dining Table: The table on the main floor provides a simple loop that can slow down a pursuing ghost.
  • Basement Shelves: Several shelving units are located on the right side of the basement, opposite one of the fuse box spots, making it a good area for evading the ghost if timed carefully.

Cursed Possession Locations

Ridgeview has several fixed locations for Cursed Possessions, which can enhance investigations but add unique challenges, as curated below:

  • Haunted Mirror: Mounted above a lamp near the Hallway stairs.
  • Music Box: Positioned on a table in the Girls’ Bedroom.
  • Ouija Board: Located on the shelf in the Utility area.
  • Summoning Circle: Found near the Basement stairs.
  • Tarot Cards: On the table beside the entrance in the Foyer.
  • Voodoo Doll: Placed on the bench in the main Hallway.
  • Monkey Paw: On a table inside the Boys’ Bedroom.

42 Edgefield Road (Small Map)

42 Edgefield Road (or simply Edgefield) is a small map in Phasmophobia. This two-story, six-bedroom house with a basement has a tight and claustrophobic environment, marked by narrow hallways that can complicate movement and visibility, especially with a team. Fortunately, rooms are closely spaced, ensuring a hiding place is usually nearby during hunts. Setting up cameras to observe from the van can also help monitor ghost activity safely.

The layout includes six bedrooms (one of which is a nursery), six bathrooms, a dining room, a garage, and a basement. The second floor has a Purple Bedroom with a teddy bear, a detail that can help players locate the room. Notably, all bedrooms on the upper floor are treated as single rooms, including attached bathrooms. Edgefield’s cramped spaces and looping limitations make it more challenging, but understanding hiding spots and cursed possession locations can significantly improve survival chances.

This cozy house turned into something much more than a home for the living.

Due to the map’s layout, looping options are scarce; the living room couch is the only viable area, though it doesn’t fully block the line of sight. Players can consider using tier III Salt to slow the ghost, particularly when dealing with faster ghosts such as the Revenant, Thaye, or Moroi.

Below is the map blueprint for 42 Edgefield Road, courtesy of Fantismal.

Key Hiding Spots

The following are essential hiding spots in Edgefield, though higher difficulties may block some with bulky items, so plan accordingly:

  • Utility: Back corner between shelves and washer (crouch against the washer).
  • Garage: Lockers against the far wall.
  • Basement: Lockers next to the refrigerator.
  • Small Blue Bedroom: Closet at the back.
  • Upstairs Hallway: Two closets across from the Green Bedroom.
  • Large Blue Bedroom: Closet in the back corner.
  • Master Bedroom: Two closets across from the bed.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Edgefield’s layout offers scarce areas suitable for looping, which means you need to truly master the looping mechanics to escape the ghosts here:

  • Living Room: The Living Room couch is the only viable area, though it doesn’t fully block the line of sight.

Cursed Possession Locations

Edgefield features fixed spawn points for Cursed Possessions, providing strategic opportunities and challenges:

  • Haunted Mirror: At the foot of the stairs to the second floor in the Hallway.
  • Music Box: On the table with a lamp in the Living Room.
  • Ouija Board: Under a metal rack in the Utility.
  • Summoning Circle: In the segmented room of the Basement.
  • Tarot Cards: On the table at the Foyer entrance.
  • Voodoo Doll: On the bed in the Large Blue Bedroom.
  • Monkey Paw: Atop the blue dresser in the Nursery.

13 Willow Street (Small Map)

13 Willow Street (or simply Willow) is a small map in Phasmophobia, featuring a single-story home with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a small garage, and a basement. It’s one of the game’s most compact maps, slightly larger than 6 Tanglewood Drive. However, its open, spacious rooms make it feel even smaller and distinguish it from the typically cramped suburban maps.

Willow’s small size allows for quick investigations, but its scarcity of traditional hiding places, like lockers and closets, makes it risky during hunts. Players must rely on furniture to conceal themselves without immediate, obvious hiding options. Learning to navigate these few hiding spots can be crucial for survival, especially for those who want to avoid breaking the line of sight with the ghost.

A newly built home in an established area. Reports say it was built on top of something unearthly.

The layout includes two bedrooms, a single bathroom, and a large basement. Players will also find a Teddy Bear in the Boys’ Bedroom, which the ghost can interact with if it decides to do so, or when its ghost room is nearby.

Key Details to Remember in Willow Street

Key Hiding Spots

Since Willow lacks closets or lockers, players need to use organic hiding spots carefully. Here are eight primary spots, which might be inaccessible if you’re playing on higher difficulties:

  • Living Room: Behind stacked crates near the fireplace.
  • Garage: Behind the shelf in the laundry area.
  • Garage: Behind crates along the far wall.
  • Garage: Behind upright plywood in the corner.
  • Boys’ Bedroom: Behind crates near the white wardrobe.
  • Master Bedroom: Behind the black wardrobe (only if the chair is positioned away from it).
  • Basement Hallway: Behind the trash cans at the far end.
  • Right Storage Room: Behind the blue tool cart.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Willow Street offers limited looping options, but you can still effectively do so by using the paths below:

  • Garage: Around the pickup truck.
  • Kitchen: Circling the island.
  • Right Storage Room: Around the two shelves.
  • The Living Room couch also allows partial looping, useful for escaping toward the kitchen.

Cursed Possession Locations

Each map has fixed spawn points for Cursed Possessions. On Willow, check these potential locations for them:

  • Ouija Board: On the washing machine in the Garage.
  • Tarot Cards: On the end table by the couch in the Living Room.
  • Voodoo Doll: Inside the cabinet in the Boys’ Bedroom.
  • Music Box: On the table near the entrance in the Living Room.
  • Summoning Circle: In the Basement Hallway.
  • Haunted Mirror: Corner of the utility section in the Garage.
  • Monkey Paw: Inside a cabinet in the Hallway.

Bleasdale Farmhouse (Small Map)

Bleasdale Farmhouse is one of the two farmhouse maps in Phasmophobia, alongside Grafton Farmhouse. Despite being classified as a small map, its three floors—including a spacious attic—and winding, linear layout make it feel larger than most. With enough rooms and hiding spots, Bleasdale is ideal for small teams but offers a challenge due to its unique structure and limited visibility in certain areas.

A beautiful traditional house in the woods. It’s a shame nobody was around to hear the residents running for their lives.

The farmhouse includes three floors and a variety of rooms: three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an office, two hallways, and a workshop. This map also features three Teddy Bears for players to locate and take notes of, as the ghosts can sometimes interact with them.

Key Details to Remember in Bleasdale Farmhouse

Key Hiding Spots

Bleasdale offers seven official hiding spots where players can avoid the ghosts:

  • Foyer: Behind the Grandfather Clock (when cardboard boxes are present).
  • Office: Behind cardboard boxes on the left.
  • Workshop: Inside the lockers.
  • Utility: Behind the washing machine.
  • Master Bedroom: Behind the room divider.
  • Attic: Behind the room divider.
  • Attic: Behind the shelves near the Summoning Circle (if two shelves are present).

Additionally, there are several unofficial hiding spots in Bleasdale Farmhouse (Spots that might not work 100% of the time, though they can still be used as shelters from the ghosts during hunts) including:

  • Boy’s Bedroom: Behind the rocking chair.
  • Utility: Behind the last shelf (opposite the washing machine).
  • Attic: Behind a different shelf across from the official hiding shelf.
  • Girl’s Bedroom: Behind the mannequin.
  • Toilet: Behind the small shelf.
  • Foyer: Behind the Grandfather Clock, even if the cardboard boxes are missing.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Bleasdale Farmhouse offers several good looping options, but don’t forget to always bring Incense with you, in case things go awry:

  • Kitchen: Circling the island.
  • Dining Room: You can circle the dining table, but be careful as it’s slightly smaller compared to the kitchen island.
  • The Living Room couch also allows for looping the ghost, though it acts better as a temporary stopgap before retreating to a safer Kitchen island, or even to a hiding spot.

Cursed Possession Locations

Each map has fixed spawn points for Cursed Possessions. For Bleasdale Farmhouse, you can the items in the spots below:

  • Ouija Board: On the workbench in the Workshop.
  • Voodoo Doll: On the couch in the Upstairs Hallway.
  • Haunted Mirror: Mounted on the wall in the Office.
  • Summoning Circle: Located in the Attic.
  • Tarot Cards: Found on the table in the Office.
  • Music Box: On the lamp table in the Living Room.
  • Monkey Paw: On a chest in the Master Bedroom.

Grafton Farmhouse (Small Map)

Grafton Farmhouse is one of the two farmhouse maps in Phasmophobia, alongside Bleasdale Farmhouse. Although it’s classified as a small map, Grafton presents a distinct challenge for ghost hunters due to its size and design. Unlike the typically suburban, tightly spaced houses found on other small maps, Grafton is an expansive two-story farmhouse with spacious rooms on the ground floor, a slightly more compact layout on the top floor, and a hidden storage room that ghost hunters will need to keep in mind when navigating.

A long-abandoned farmhouse, located in the middle of nowhere. Who knows what still lurks within.

Grafton Farmhouse includes four primary bedrooms, one of which is a nursery, along with various utility rooms like a storage room, workshop, and dining room. The structure of the house makes it feel larger than it is, as players may find themselves moving through wide-open spaces that offer little cover or protection. Moreover, due to the open layout and large rooms on the ground floor, it is relatively easy to locate key areas, but challenging to hide from a ghost during a hunt.

Key Details to Remember in Grafton Farmhouse

Key Hiding Spots

Grafton Farmhouse offers nine official hiding spots, which you can use to evade the ghosts:

  • Foyer: Behind shelves under the stairs (only when there are two shelves).
  • Workshop: Behind an upright mattress.
  • Utility: Behind a shelf (when cardboard boxes are present).
  • Master Bedroom: Behind cardboard boxes in the back corner of the walk-in closet.
  • Twin Bedroom: Behind cardboard boxes on the left side of the walk-in closet.
  • Nursery: Behind the crib (when it’s not against the wall).
  • Upstairs Hallway: Behind the chair (when it’s not against the window).
  • Upstairs Bedroom: Behind a room divider.
  • Storage: Inside the lockers.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Grafton Farmhouse offers several safe and secure looping areas, however, as always, bringing Incense is highly recommended. Here are the spots:

  • Kitchen: Circling the island.
  • Dining Room: You can circle the dining table, but be careful as there’s a knocked chair that may interrupt your loops, therefore making the ghosts faster.
  • The Living Room couch also allows for looping the ghost, though it acts better as a temporary stopgap before retreating to a safer looping spot in the Kitchen island, or even to a hiding spot under the Foyer’s stairs.

Cursed Possession Locations

Each map has fixed spawn points for Cursed Possessions. On Grafton, check these potential locations for them:

  • Summoning Circle: Spawns in the Storage room.
  • Ouija Board: Located in the Master Bedroom’s closet.
  • Music Box: Found in the Foyer on one of the shelves.
  • Haunted Mirror: Spawns in the Living Room near the kitchen door.
  • Tarot Cards: Located on the dining table in the Dining Room.
  • Voodoo Doll: Appears on the chest in the Nursery.
  • Monkey Paw: Found on a table in the Twin Bedroom.

Camp Woodwind (Small Map)

Camp Woodwind in Phasmophobia is a cozy, compact map that’s almost like a miniature version of Maple Lodge Campsite. This smaller scale makes for some unique gameplay: with only a few tents, two bathrooms, and a campfire at its heart, Camp Woodwind might seem manageable, but the close quarters can ramp up the intensity of a ghost encounter. The map becomes available once you reach level 13, making it a fun challenge as you progress.

Unlike other small maps like Tanglewood Drive, Camp Woodwind has a single looping pathway that circles the main tent, leaving little room to maneuver. This layout brings the ghost much closer to you no matter where it roams, making it feel particularly nerve-wracking. Four main tents are scattered around, mostly clustered near the Picnic Area, while one stands alone closer to the Bathrooms. Towards the back, there’s a more secluded nook known as “Lovers Bench,” a small shed-like spot tucked into the woods for a slightly eerie touch.

This outdoor retreat was evacuated due to some campfire stories coming to life.

The map’s small size makes it tricky to hide or escape if the ghost spots you. Since it’s easy to get cornered, you’ll need to take note of hiding spots, especially near the central campfire. Additionally, because the campfire has a single exit, players should be cautious not to get trapped or cornered there if the ghost appears during a hunt.

Key Details to Remember in Camp Woodwind

Key Hiding Spots

Camp Woodwind includes 7 official hiding spots, each varying in effectiveness:

  • Campfire: Barrels next to the Games Tent and cooler boxes near the Blue Tent.
  • Picnic Area: Cooler boxes near the White Tent.
  • Yellow Tent: Several sleeping bags offer concealment in the right section.
  • Kids’ Area: Two small tents (orange and cyan) provide a bit of cover.
  • Food Tent: Behind a table loaded with cooler boxes.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Given its circular layout, Camp Woodwind is well-suited for strafing the ghost. You can move back and forth around the log seating near the campfire, forcing the ghost to reroute, which can buy you valuable time. Strafing also works around the Blue Tent or even the Lovers Bench if used creatively.

Cursed Possession Locations

Camp Woodwind includes various Cursed Possessions, each tucked away in many spots, particularly in the tents:

  • Haunted Mirror: Near the Campfire, leaning on the tree with string lights.
  • Music Box: Inside the Yellow Tent.
  • Ouija Board: Inside the Games Tent.
  • Summoning Circle: Inside the Food Tent.
  • Tarot Cards: On a picnic table in the Picnic Area.
  • Voodoo Doll: Near the cyan tent beside the Red Tent.
  • Monkey Paw: On the Lovers Bench, next to two marshmallow sticks.

Point Hope (Small Map)

Point Hope in Phasmophobia is a distinctive, small map set in a ten-story lighthouse with a total of sixteen rooms. This map’s unique vertical layout offers a narrow, spiral-staircase structure, which makes navigating it both thrilling and treacherous. Its cramped, linear design means that encounters with the ghost can be intense, as there are few routes to escape if it blocks the way.

A young family recently moved into this long-dormant lighthouse, but it was already home to something else.

The ground floor is larger, while the following nine floors are smaller, circular rooms stacked vertically. This structure gives Point Hope a claustrophobic feel, with each floor counting as a single room, making it easy to become disoriented. There are two bathrooms, with the larger one on the fifth floor, and two bedrooms located on the sixth and seventh floors. The top floor features an open balcony offering a view of the surrounding area, adding an atmospheric touch to this eerie location.

Because of Point Hope’s linear setup, there’s only one pathway to move between areas, which means careful planning is essential. Each floor has its light switch near the top of the stairway, and leaving lights on along your route is highly recommended to help manage sanity. When the ghost’s favorite room is near the top floors, the trek up and down can drain sanity quickly, so planning trips to conserve it is key.

Key Details to Remember in Point Hope

Key Hiding Spots

Point Hope has 11 designated hiding spots, which the players can use to hide from the ghosts, depending on their current locations:

  • Entry Bathroom: Inside the shower.
  • Entry Hallway: Closet near the exit door.
  • Living Room: Inside a lighthouse tent or behind a crate below the stairs.
  • Kitchen: Behind cardboard boxes near the washer.
  • Dining Room: Behind boxes below the stairs.
  • Master Bedroom: Behind a room divider.
  • Child Bedroom: Inside the closet.
  • Maintenance Room: Lockers.
  • Lantern Room Bottom: Behind boxes near the stairs.

Ghost-Looping Areas

The layout of Point Hope promotes large pillars on some floors, which can be looped around to avoid ghosts or recover stamina, especially true in the Games Room. Point Hope’s guide rails on the staircases can break the line of sight if you crouch between floors, which is handy for stealthily dodging the ghost during a hunt.

Additionally, you’ll find a single matchbox in the Games Room near the fireplace, which can help light a candle or smudge stick as a temporary light source. As always, bringing Incense with you will further ensure your survival against even the fastest ghosts like the Thaye or Moroi.

Cursed Possession Locations

Point Hope, just like the many maps before it, also includes Cursed Possesions, and they are tucked away on different floors within the map, as we have curated below:

  • Floor 1: Tarot Cards on the table near the couch.
  • Floor 3: Haunted Mirror beside a cupboard.
  • Floor 4: Ouija Board on a shelf.
  • Floor 5: Summoning Circle in the bathroom.
  • Floor 6: Music Box on the table.
  • Floor 7: Voodoo Doll on a shelf in the blue bedroom.
  • Floor 8: Monkey Paw on a desk with a wooden horse.

Prison (Medium Map)

The Prison in Phasmophobia is a medium-sized map, the second of its type, featuring a decrepit, austere atmosphere. The long, bar-lined corridors create an unsettling environment where ghost encounters can be especially tense.

The map comprises two primary prison blocks, each lined with cells, as well as various offices, an infirmary, visitation rooms, and more. Slightly smaller than Brownstone High School, the Prison can be equally perilous, as safe spots are often far from the ghost’s Favorite Room. In some locations, escape routes are limited to narrow catwalks or congested floors, making incense crucial for surviving against fast ghosts.

Light switches in many rooms are positioned away from the areas they illuminate, so players might need to venture from their current location to control lighting. Ghosts can also manipulate these switches, which may confuse if they light up areas other than where players are located.

Recently closed due to some unexplainable deaths, this facility now imprisons the paranormal.

The prison blocks have exit doors leading to an outdoor courtyard, which can be used as an alternative access route while preventing passive sanity drain. Each cell block contains five distinct rooms:

  • First Floor: Includes left and right cell rows and a central open area up to the inner gates.
  • Second Floor: Divided into two rooms, each with a row of cells.
  • Control Rooms: Computer keyboards here control lighting for entire blocks.

Additionally, several things are worth noting in Prison:

  • The upstairs infirmary area, with hospital beds, is treated as one room (“Infirmary”).
  • The “Infirmary Hallway” contains smaller sub-rooms, including one that might hold the fuse box.
  • The Main Hallway and Office Hallway cannot be chosen as ghost rooms, and the main hallway light switch is found in Central Control.
  • Some rooms, like the cafeteria and main hallway, are designated as dark rooms, which causes sanity to drain even with lights on, though at a reduced rate of 80%.

Key Details to Remember in Prison

Key Hiding Spots

The Prison has four official hiding spots, though the massive structure of the map may enable you to hide far away from the ghost’s hunt location without it ever finding you. We have curated the hiding spots below:

  • Entrance: Lockers at the back.
  • Cafeteria: Behind garbage cans on the left (if four cans are present).
  • Infirmary: Lockers at the far right in the first room.
  • Cafeteria Security: On the balcony, behind two garbage cans near the entry.

Ghost-Looping Areas

As the Prison consists of many long hallways, just like other big maps such as Brownstone High School and Sunny Meadows Mental Institution, there is no general place where you can loop the ghost; most of the time, you should always try to hide (cannot be used against a Deogen) or run away from the ghosts during a hunt, preferably ready with an Incense.

Cursed Possession Locations

The Prison includes various Cursed Possessions, and fortunately, every item will be placed somewhere in the Entrance hallway, with details below:

  • Haunted Mirror: Under a row of chairs.
  • Summoning Circle: At the end of the hallway.
  • Tarot Cards: In a blue crate.
  • Music Box: Inside a black crate.
  • Voodoo Doll: On a table between the crates.
  • Ouija Board: On the floor behind the crate table.
  • Monkey Paw: Next to the blue crate on the table.

Maple Lodge Campsite (Medium Map)

Maple Lodge Campsite in Phasmophobia is the game’s second medium-sized map and its first largely outdoor location. This spacious campsite features two campgrounds, a restroom building, a staff storage area, a reception building, and a two-story cabin by a lake. Unlike traditional indoor maps, Maple Lodge’s organic layout and outdoor setting create a unique challenge, even for seasoned players, as searching for ghost clues requires more exploration and can feel less intuitive. However, the map’s multiple paths allow clever players to evade the ghost by finding alternative routes through the map’s distinct zones.

This outdoor retreat was evacuated due to some campfire stories coming to life.

The campgrounds are divided into two areas: Campsite A and Campsite B. Notably, the key to the cabin can be found under the mat near its door. Once unlocked, the cabin’s front doors won’t lock again during hunts. However, Campsite A and Campsite B lack main room lights, so firelights are essential to minimize sanity drain. Weather also affects gameplay—heavy rain disables open flames like candles, while strong winds can make hearing cues, such as ghost sounds, more difficult.

Key Details to Remember in Maple Lodge Campsite

Key Hiding Spots

Maple Lodge Campsite provides 15 official hiding spots, though some may be blocked depending on difficulty level. Here’s a list of some hiding spots by location:

  • Entrance: Behind dividers near the door to the Staff Storage Area.
  • Staff Storage Area: Behind boxes near Storage Tent 2 or beside a chemical toilet.
  • North East Path: Behind a tarp and boxes.
  • Picnic Area: Behind dividers near a boat.
  • Cabin Bedroom: In the gap near the staircase.
  • Campsite A: Three small tents and dividers next to them (when there are no garbage cans).
  • Campsite B: Four small tents near Black, White, Blue, and Yellow Tents.

The restrooms’ toilet stalls make decent hiding places, as the ghost rarely checks individual stalls unless drawn in by sound. However, be cautious with tent flaps—they don’t fully block the ghost’s line of sight unless closed completely.

Ghost-Looping Areas

Some areas within Maple Lodge Campsite are good for looping the ghost, like the picnic tables or routes across the Reception Building, Campsite B, and Staff Storage Are, which gives you ample time to loop the ghost and use Incense whenever the ghost is trying to catch up to you during the loops.

Cursed Possession Locations

Maple Lodge Campsite includes various Cursed Possessions, each tucked away in many spots, which we have curated below:

  • Ouija Board: Cleaning Closet shelf.
  • Haunted Mirror: Reception Building.
  • Music Box: The Log in Campfire B.
  • Voodoo Doll: Against a log in Campfire A.
  • Tarot Cards: Picnic Area, on a poker-strewn table.
  • Summoning Circle: Cabin Kitchen.
  • Monkey Paw: On a barrel in the Staff Storage Area.

Brownstone High School (Large Map)

Brownstone High School is a map in Phasmophobia, initially categorized as medium-sized but now considered a large map. Its square and symmetrical layout makes navigation straightforward, though the long hallways can make consistent running challenging.

Shut down due to unnatural deaths, this isolated school has been abandoned for decades

Brownstone High School includes a front yard and side yard, nearly three dozen classrooms, eight bathrooms, a lecture hall, a cafeteria, and a gymnasium with two locker rooms. The map measures roughly 85 by 55 meters, and the building has five exit doors. Since the closest entrance is far from the van, players might consider staging gear near the building before entering. Here are some general tips to ensure that your investigations on Brownstone High School remain secure and safe:

  • Hallways on both floors cannot serve as a ghost’s favorite room, so checking for Ghost Orbs in these areas is unnecessary. However, the Lobby can be a favorite room.
  • Science Classrooms at the back of the building each consist of two sub-rooms: the main classroom and the science lab.
  • Bathrooms are organized in pairs on each side per floor, with male bathrooms on the left and female bathrooms on the right. Each student bathroom (boys/girls) has an adjacent teacher’s bathroom (male/female).
  • Classrooms numbered 20 and above are on the second floor, while those numbered 1-19 are on the first.
  • The upstairs hallway is divided into three separate rooms, with each hallway area named “Corridor.”
  • Fingerprints may appear on bathroom mirrors in addition to doors and windows.
  • Dark Rooms that cause an 80% sanity drain rate even with lights on include the Lobby, main corridors, basketball court, lecture hall, and some other corridors. Classroom 30 has no main lights, offering no sanity protection.

Given its vast, open rooms, players should locate hiding spots and plan escape routes promptly once the ghost is identified. Spaces like the Basketball Court or Cafeteria can be challenging to navigate during hunts, and sprinting strategically within the grace period can be crucial.

Escape Strategies

  • Hallways are dangerous during hunts since ghosts can see players without range limits and can be heard only up to 20 meters. This means a ghost may catch players off-guard at high speed.
  • Bathroom stalls serve as effective hiding spots, especially if the ghost doesn’t spot players entering.
  • The Library provides line-of-sight blockers useful for hiding or escaping.
  • Changing rooms on the first floor’s left side have lockers that help break line-of-sight and enable stealth movement.
  • Some classrooms have corners with file cabinets that can block the ghost’s line of sight if players hide there.
  • Incense can be valuable in hunt situations or while gathering evidence, as the open map layout makes breaking line-of-sight challenging.
  • Ghosts can walk through many teacher desks, so these are ineffective for looping strategies.

Every classroom contains a phone that the ghost can ring as an interaction, adding to the eerie atmosphere. Brownstone High School is unique as the only map without designated hiding spots.

Sunny Meadows Mental Institution (Large Map)

Perhaps the single scariest and most challenging map currently available in Phasmophobia, the Sunny Meadows Mental Institution (or simply Sunny Meadows), is the largest map in the game, known for its labyrinthine design and eerie, abandoned atmosphere. This two-story map, which succeeded the original Asylum map, can be played in its entirety or split into five distinct, Restricted areas, one of which is randomly accessible per contract.

Sunny Meadows was once a Catholic-run institution, as evidenced by its old chapel and religious imagery. Now fully abandoned, the institution’s bleak halls echo with unsettling details like leftover surgical equipment, decaying corpses, and hints of past brutality. The atmosphere is intense: every footstep reverberates, and if you’re unlucky, you’ll hear the ghost scratching the walls or slamming doors shut, trapping players in their respective wings during a hunt.

The twisted remnants of this asylum, such as blood-stained walls and rooms filled with decayed bodies, make it one of Phasmophobia‘s most bone-chilling maps. Players often report hearing the screams of those tortured within its depths, adding to the deeply unnerving experience of investigating here.

This vast asylum holds more than just cobwebs and debris. Some say you can still hear the screams.

The map spans 69 rooms across two floors and five wings, including an outdoor courtyard. Each wing has its distinct layout and character:

  • The Main Wing (upstairs, back) houses patient and staff amenities around a large courtyard.
  • Male Wing (upstairs, left) has bedrooms, bathrooms, and a day room for male patients.
  • Female Wing (upstairs, right) mirrors the Male Wing for female patients.
  • The Hospital Wing (downstairs, left) contains common hospital rooms, an operating room, and a macabre morgue.
  • Restricted Wing (downstairs, right) is rumored to be where the institution’s most “intensive treatments” were conducted, filled with eerie cells, bloodstains, and other haunting remnants.

To help navigate, a labeled map is available in the Entrance Corridor, though it’s difficult to read due to weathering. Some room labels may not align with the in-game definitions, such as Servant Room 1 and Servant Room 2. Here are some pointers to help you walk through this daunting Phasmophobia map:

  • Some rooms feature bell-type alarms and metronomes that may activate as ghost interactions.
  • Crosses hanging on walls can be flipped upside down by the ghost, emitting a loud scratching sound—a chilling sign of a nearby ghostly presence.
  • The building’s cluttered hallways make running in a straight line nearly impossible, so be prepared to navigate obstacles.
  • Many hallways and corridors are classified as “dark rooms” and will drain sanity at 80% even with lights on, so it’s crucial to stay vigilant about sanity.

In the Restricted version, only the immediate entrance area (including the Chapel) and one randomly selected wing are accessible. This setup’s possibilities for Sunny Meadows Restricted are as follows:

  • Entrance + Chapel + Courtyard (Courtyard Fuse Box)
  • Entrance + Chapel + Male Wing (Foyer Fuse Box)
  • Entrance + Chapel + Female Wing (Foyer Fuse Box)
  • Entrance + Chapel + Hospital Wing (Either Foyer or in the Basement Corridor near the Stairwell)
  • Entrance + Chapel + Restricted Wing (Either Foyer or in the Basement Corridor near the Stairwell)

Key Hiding Strategies

During hunts in Sunny Meadows, each wing’s doors lock, potentially separating players. It’s wise to know hiding spots both near the investigation site and on the way to the favorite room since returning to known spots might not always be possible. Props such as dividers and cabinets are essential for breaking the line of sight with the ghost.

There are 28 designated hiding spots in Sunny Meadows, such as:

  • Manager’s Office: Behind a cupboard
  • Infirmary: Lockers
  • Male Wing: Behind various gurneys, shelves, and beds
  • Female Wing: Similar spots as in the Male Wing, including beds and gurneys
  • Basement and Restricted Areas: Multiple hiding spots behind privacy screens and other furniture

Cursed Possession Locations

All Cursed Possessions in Sunny Meadows are found in the Chapel, with the Monkey Paw placed at the foot of the crucifix and the others arranged around the Summoning Circle.
