You first need to complete or skip the tutorial, then find the household you wish to play as. You are always able to turn aging back on if you change your mind.
1. How to Turn Off Aging in Paralives
If you want to stop your Parafolks from aging up or even dying, then here is how you turn off aging in Paralives.
You turn off aging through the Storyteller feature. Who you picked as your Storyteller is irrelevant. You’re able to customize all Storytellers to adjust the core gameplay features, including how Parafolks age.
- Load your save file.
- Press Esc. Alternatively, you may click on the three white dots on the top right corner of the screen for the same result.
- Click on Storyteller.
- Click on Customize Storyteller.
- By default, you should see Household Paras Age turned on, with a blue-and-white toggle switch to the right under the Time section.
- Click on the blue toggle switch for Household Paras Age to turn off aging and related effects tied to that gameplay feature.
Non-Household Para Ages are turned off by default, regardless of the Storyteller chosen, although you can turn them on at any point.
Extending Duration of Life Stages
Although vague, you can change the length of life stages in this menu option
If you don’t want to disable aging and just want to alter how long Parafolk live for, you are able to adjust it to three pre-made settings.
- Return to the Storyteller menu.
- You can change the Duration of Life Stages to either Short, Medium, or Long.
- Changing Minutes Per Real-Life Seconds also technically adjusts your Parafolks’ lifespan, determining how much time they have to do stuff each day they’re alive.
2. Age-Related Cheat Codes

Paralives includes several age-related cheat codes. Press CTRL and F1 to open up the Cheats Command menu.

| NEXTGROWTHSPURT | Your selected Parafolk will get a growth spurt, if applicable. |
| NEXTLIFESTAGE | Makes your Parafolk move up a lifestage (like Young Adult to Adult). |
| PREVIOUSGROWTHSPURT | Your selected Parafolk will lose a growth spurt, if applicable. |
| PREVIOUSLIFESTAGE | Makes your Parafolk move down a lifestage (like Young Adult to Teen). |
| PRINTAGE | Tells you how old your Parafolk is. |
| SETAGE | Entering “SETAGE [any number you want]” will set your Parafolk’s age to that number in terms of years. |
