Dishonored 2 is a game with numerous variable endings. The Dishonored 2 ending you’ll see is based on your overall chaos rating and the decisions you make on missions that affect the fate of Karnaca during a campaign. Your decisions will primarily decide the future rule of Karnaca when Duke Luca Abele is out of the way. How many enemies you lethally kill on missions determines the chaos rating. This is how you can see the best (happiest) and worst (darkest) Dishonored 2 endings.

How to Get the Best Dishonored 2 Ending
You can see the best of the Dishonored 2 endings by taking the least lethal approach throughout the game. You must avoid killing enemies as much as possible to obtain a low chaos score on every mission. To do that, you’ll need to knock out many enemies or sneak past any you can avoid fighting.
Completing every mission with a low chaos rating will ensure a more positive ending, but numerous variations exist. To see the best Dishonoured 2 ending in which the council rules, avoid killing Hypatia (otherwise the Crown Killer), Breanna Ashworth, Stilton, Kirin Jindosh, Paolo, Duke Luca Abele, and Liam Byrne. It’s also best to avoid lethally eliminating Mortimer Ramsey and Delilah Copperspoon on the first and last missions for the sake of keeping your chaos rating down.
Getting the best Dishonored 2 ending is more challenging because you can’t simply knock out Hypatia, Ashworth, Luca Abele, and Jindosh to eliminate them non-lethally. There are special ways to eliminate those characters without killing them you’ll need to figure out during their missions. To eliminate Luca Abele, talk to his body double to make a deal on mission eight. You can avoid killing Paolo and Liam Bryne on the Dust District mission by finding the key to Durante’s office that includes the access code for Stilton’s mansion.
How to Get the Worst Dishonored 2 Ending
The worst of the Dishonored 2 endings is chaos ruling Karnaca. This is the highest chaos ending you can ‘achieve’ by killing many enemies. Kill many guards with Emily’s or Corvo’s swords and guns to maximize your lethality and obtain a high chaos rating on all missions throughout the game.
However, you’ll need more than a high chaos rating to seal the worst ending. Make sure you kill Paolo, Kirin Jindosh, Luca Abele and his body double, Ashworth, and Liam Byrne. Although not essential, kill Hypatia, Stilton, Ramsey, and Delilah to increase your chaos rating on four other missions.
To make the ending even worse, kill your allies Solokov and Meagan Foster on the Dreadful Whale at the beginning of the last mission. This will cut the ending short by removing the sequences for those characters. Meagan Foster’s ending is always the same when you don’t kill her, but the Solokov ending varies depending on your chaos rating.
The final step for seeing the worst ending is not to save Corvo or Emily at the end of mission nine. This option is only available when you’ve finished the game with a high chaos rating. Finish the game by sitting on the throne rather than saving Emily or Corvo.
Alternative Dishonored 2 Endings
There are also variable high and low chaos Dishonored 2 endings. A low-chaos Corvo ruling Karnaca ending is also among the happiest variations. You can see that ending by completing the Dust District mission without killing Paolo or Liam Byrne and not making a deal with the Luca Abele body double. This means you’ll need to kill Luca on mission eight, but keep your overall chaos rating down to see the happier variation of the ending.
Liam Byrne or Paolo can rule Karnaca if you kill one of them on mission six to please the other. However, you’ll also need to kill the Luca Abele body double to ensure one is outright ruler. If you make a deal with the Luca Abele body double and kill Byrne or Paolo, he’ll share the joint rule with one of them. How they rule Karnaca will depend on your overall chaos rating.
The game can also end with Corvo as king of Dunwell. However, you can only obtain this by killing many enemies for a high-chaos ending. You can then decline to save Emily at the end of Dishonored 2 for Corvo to take her throne. In all other endings, Emily will retake her throne with or without Corvo at her side.
Dishonored 2 offers a lot of replay value with its various ending sequences. Go for the best of the Dishonored 2 endings during your first playthrough. Then play through the game again in a much more lethal way with either Corvo or Emily to see the worst high-chaos endings.
