Crafting, Resources, and Refining
Crafting in Dune: Awakening is essential for survival, combat, and base development. From early healing kits to advanced vehicle parts, nearly everything must be crafted using raw resources, specialized workstations, and a growing tech tree of schematics and unlocks.
Core Crafting Systems
- The Fabricator is a central crafting station used to build gear, armor, tools, and weapons.
- Ore Refineries convert mined materials like copper ore or flour sand into usable components and ingots.
- Chemical Refineries specialize in refining sand-based materials into Silicon Blocks and advanced compounds.
- Blood Purifiers transform Blood Sacks into water, which is critical in arid zones.
- Windtraps provide passive water generation at your base and can be unlocked through the Research Tree.
Resource Management and Storage
- All crafting stations can pull resources from nearby storage containers, eliminating the need for manual inventory transfers.
- You can use Quick Deposit to instantly drop your entire inventory into local storage at your base.
- Crafting circuits and benches can be linked using IO ports, allowing automated resource processing and output routing.
Refinement Materials and Harvesting
- Scrap Metal, Plant Fibers, Copper Ore, and Granite Stone are all basic materials used in early recipes.
- Fuel Cells power base shields and crafting stations. These are collected from supply caches or crafted later via tech unlocks.
- Advanced recipes require Intel and Sinkcharts to unlock through the Research Tree.
Sinkcharts and Unlock Progression
- Sinkcharts are weekly-reset data items found in the Deep Desert and tied to exploration objectives.
- They unlock new recipes, base modules, or crafting enhancements when consumed at specific workbenches.
- Players can duplicate and sell Sinkcharts via the Exchange, creating an economy loop tied to exploration.
- Some Tier 6 crafting schematics and Imperial blueprints require Sinkcart data to unlock.
Crafting Roles and Professions
- Players can focus on roles like Architect (base building and blueprint sales) or Planetologist (resource efficiency and survival).
- Blueprints and Sinkcharts can be sold on the Exchange, forming a player-driven crafting economy.
