Make the Most of Ranged Character Agents in Combat
Some of the agents in Zenless Zone Zero have ranged attacks with which you can inflict damage on enemies from a distance. Billy Kid is a ranged attack agent you’ll start with from the outset and should utilize throughout the game for optional combat commissions. It’s easier to preserve health for ranged agents like Billy because you can attack enemies without going near them when utilizing such characters. These are some of the other ranged agents to include in ZZZ combat teams:
- Asaba Huramasa
- Zhu Yuan
- Rina
- Grace Howard
Keep an Eye Out For HIA Coins
Six locations in the game include numerous HIA coins for players to collect. It’s worth collecting these coins since you can exchange them for in-game resources with Sage in a Barrel. Plus, you can receive more materials and Dennies by completing Officer Mewmew’s seeker medals for collecting HIA coins in different locations. These are the locations where you can collect HIA coins:
- Sixth Street
- Brandt Street
- Lumina Square
- Ballet Twins Road
- Blazewood
- Port Elpis
One thing you must do for coin collecting in different locations is kick Sage in a Barrel to ensure they spawn. Find and speak to the Sage in a Barrel dustbin in the different locations to give it a kicking. Then, you can collect HIA coins and talk to Sage to exchange them. To collect HIA coins, you must usually speak to certain NPCs highlighted with speech bubble marks or interact with objects that include shiny coin sparkles during different times of the day.
Fight it Out at the HIA Club to Level Up
Leveling up Inter-Knot and your agents is crucial to progression in Zenless Zone Zero. You’ll sometimes need to reach certain Inter-Knot levels to unlock certain story commissions during the game. Fighting Etherals in the virtual combat simulations at the HIA club is a quick and easy way to accumulate Inter-Knot for leveling up when needed. Select fight simulations for basic materials and select the Investigation Specialization card to amass Inter-Knot for combat completion.
Increasing your Inter-Knot level also enables you to level up agents, which is crucial to enhancing their combat stats. However, you’ll need to amass agent promotion materials to raise character levels. You can also amass the materials for leveling up characters by completing the HIA Club combat simulations in the Agent Promotion category.
Eat Some Grub at Waterfall Soup Before Combat Commissions
General Chop’s Waterfall Soup is certainly the best dining venue on Sixth Street, where you should eat some grub before starting a story or optional combat commissions. There, you can pay to eat numerous dishes that provide variable temporary combat boosts. For example, eating Seafood Noodles for 2,500 Dennies will increase your agents’ physical damage by 30%, which is a big combat boost that’s worth the price.
Select Characters to Exploit Recommended Attributes for Combat Commissions
One thing to take note of for combat commissions is the recommended attributes. These recommended attributes tell you which attributes enemies are weakest against for specific combat commissions. All your agents are proficient in one of the fire, electric, ice, frost, physical, and ether attributes. Select to deploy agents with whom you can inflict the recommended attribute damage for combat commission when you can choose them.
Drink a Coffee a Day for Free Battery Charge
Coff Cafe is the place to go on Sixth Street for coffee lovers. Make sure you visit Coff Cafe because you can drink one free coffee a day there. Drinking that free coffee will give you 60 more battery charge for completing more daily activities. You’ll need some battery charge for these activities:
- Notorious hunt
- Combat simulation
- Routine cleanup
- Expert challenge

So, there could still be plenty more in store for Zenless Zone Zero after you’ve finished those six chapters.
