World of Warships Blitz is an enthralling naval warfare game for Android and iOS mobile devices. This is a multiplayer game in which teams of seven players fight it out with battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and aircraft carriers across various maps for naval supremacy. Annihilating enemy ships is primarily the name of the game in World of Warships. Here are some World of Warships Blitz tips for that game’s multiplayer naval battles.
Turn to the Side (Broadside) to Fire all Your Ships’ Guns
You cannot fire all your ship’s guns when it’s facing forward toward an enemy. So, turn your ship sideways (otherwise broadside) to a target so you can fire all guns. Then you can fire a full salvo of shells when all your guns are fully loaded to inflict maximum damage.
Keep an Eye on the Mini-map
The mini-map at the top left of the screen provides the best overview of what’s going on around you. You can see the positions of naval units that might be outside your ship’s field of view on that map. So, keep an eye on that mini-map to check the position, type, and movement direction of enemy naval units during battles.
Sell Blueprints You Don’t Need for Your Preferred Ship Type
You’ll need all the silver you can get for purchasing ships and equipment. Selling unneeded blueprints is a good way to amass credits when required. For example, you won’t need any aircraft or torpedo blueprints if you only play with battleships.
You can sell blueprints by pressing the warehouse button on the World of Warships Blitz sidebar. Select Blueprints to see what you can sell there. Then select a blueprint you don’t need there to bring up a sell item box where you can specify a quantity and flog them.
Enhance Your Ship’s Shooting Traverse Speed
Traverse speed is how fast your ship’s shells travel through the air (or underwater for torpedoes). Upgrading your ship’s shot traverse speed will improve its shooting precision, especially against fast-moving destroyers.
You can enhance a ship’s traverse speed by purchasing Main Battery Modification. That upgrade enhances the speed of shells fired from your main gun battery by 20 percent. Or boost transverse speed for the main gun battery, secondary gun, and torpedo tubes by 10 percent with the Aiming System Mod.
Fire Ahead Off Ships at Longer Distances
The further you fire from, the longer it will take for shells to reach the target. Furthermore, your target will probably be moving as well. If you fire directly at a moving ship from a distance, all your shells will likely miss. This means you need to aim and fire ahead of moving ships for most of them to hit because your shells will be up in the air for a few seconds.
Destroyers are the toughest to hit since they’re the smallest and fastest type of ship. So, don’t waste your ammo trying to hit destroyers from too far away because you’ll probably miss them. That’s why enhancing shot traverse speed can help combat destroyers. Your shells will move quicker, meaning you won’t need to aim so far ahead of them.
Don’t Stop Moving
A stationary warship is easier to hit than a moving one. So, keep your ship moving to make it harder for the enemy to hit you. That doesn’t mean you must always be moving at top speed, but never completely stop your ship when in naval engagements. Even players with aircraft carriers should keep moving slowly around the edges of maps.
Don’t Rush Into a Group of Enemy Warships
Moving into a group of enemy warships to get a closer shot is one of the most suicidal things you can do in World of Warships. A group of three or four enemy warships will blow you to pieces if you blindly rush into them for a closer engagement. So, be careful not to do that at the beginning of battles when teams have all their ships.
Fire AP Shells at Battleships’ Citadels From Shorter Range
The AP (Armor-Piercing) shell is the strongest type of ammunition in World of Warships for close-quarter naval engagements. This type of shell is designed to penetrate thick warship armor around protected modules. Those protected modules are stored within the central hull areas of battleships known as the citadel.
To inflict maximum damage with AP shells, aim for the citadel areas of battleships when you’re close to them (ideally within five kilometers). Then your AP shells will more likely hit and damage some of their most vital compartments, such as engine rooms. The WoW video below provides further details about the citadel and explains the game’s hitpoint system.
Don’t Use AP Shells Against Destroyers
However, AP shells are far less effective against destroyers. Destroyers don’t have citadels and have much thinner armor than battleships. AP shells that hit usually go through a destroyer’s armor without fuse detonation. So, it’s best to fire HE (High Explosive) shells at destroyers.
Fire HE Shells From Longer Distances
HE shells detonate upon impact and can cause explosions and fires on ships. That shell type is usually more effective for longer-range naval engagements beyond 10 kilometers. It’s better to fire HE shells from further away because most of them will likely hit the superstructures of ships, which AP shells have less impact on. They’ll also cause fires on the decks of ships to inflict more damage.
Furthermore, it’s much harder to aim and hit the citadels of ships with AP shells from longer ranges. Ricochets will more likely happen when you plunge fire AP shells from longer distances. This World of Warships video explains the different shell types and when to use them in more detail.
