Locks is a uniquely creepy puzzle-platformer where you’re the master of a puppet show you won’t want to take the kids to see. Described by the developer as Tim Burtonesque meets Junji Ito, the papercraft world has an ominous yet alluring atmosphere and is full of promise to deliver a twisted fairy tale narrative. During the search, you are likely to find more than you bargained for lurking in the trees.

Your actions have consequences and can lead to multiple outcomes, so it is up to you whether you choose to join a cult, or focus on finding your girlfriend. Regardless of your personal life choices, if you’d like to give Unforgotten: Ordinance a try there is a demo available on Steam.

A psychological horror in the form of a visual novel, the eerie vibes of Urban Myth Dissolution Center are completed with an entrancing pixel art style. The game sees you take on the role of new hire Azami as she finds her place among a team of experimental detectives while they investigate internet myths and fiddle with cursed relics, hoping to debunk rumours and replace them with answers.

By using specialised equipment such as Azami’s glasses, you will open up opportunities to see the psychedelic world of the bizarre and supernatural from a new perspective, sometimes vital for progression. You can join the Urban Myth Dissolution Center early through the demo available on Steam

And finally, we have another psychological horror presented as a visual novel to round off the list. Recall: Empty Wishes follows Yonny as she attempts to find her missing younger brother. After finding an old childhood toy, Yonny finds it has mysterious capabilities which allow her to access key memories of those close to Tommy. Each mind contains intricately detailed scenes which could hold clues to Tommy’s disappearance, so it is important to pay attention to characters and their surroundings.
