One of the big surprises of the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 was The Duskbloods, the new multiplayer project from FromSoftware. This soulslike will arrive exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
The title will be centered on online play, although it is not yet clear whether it will follow a design similar in structure to Elden Ring or the spin-off Nightreign, or whether it will opt for a more traditional experience.
The trailer showed a dark and oppressive setting, with an artistic design reminiscent of Dark Souls and Bloodborne. However, the emphasis on narrative suggests a different direction. Whether the game will feature an open world, semi-open world, or be more linear remains a mystery.
On April 4, 2025, Nintendo will publish an interview with Hidetaka Miyazaki in the Creator’s Voice section. There, more details about The Duskbloods will be revealed.
The support of the parent studio of soulslike games for the new Nintendo console seems to be total. In addition, FromSoftware will also bring Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 at some point in 2025.
This version adapted to the hybrid will include the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new armor pieces, and a new feature to customize the appearance of Torrent. This edition would be the definitive one in terms of content and it would not be strange for it to reach other platforms.
It has not yet been confirmed whether Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will feature graphical modes that take advantage of the 4K resolution or 120 FPS available on the console. However, considering that the game supports them on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, this is a possibility.
