Stalker 2 Receives First Major Patch

Stalker 2 has recently received its first major patch. Patch 1.1 of Stalker 2 is a major one with over 1800 fixes to the game. The patch addresses major bugs including ones related to the game’s A-Life. This comes after the game was released last month receiving huge success and praise in the process.

GSC Game World, Stalker 2’s developer, released a major patch that comes with over 1800 fixes. In the official patch note, it says that patch 1.1 includes “the first iteration of the A-Life fixes.” The bugs that came with the game’s release last month was a source of frustration to players. Now, Stalker 2’s first major patch will hopefully improve the gameplay and players’ experience.

The patch note reads: “Just before Christmas and New Year’s, we are ready to present Patch 1.1. It is the first major patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and it will address over 1,800 issues, including the first iteration of the A-Life fixes. We understand that the size of the patch is huge and the process of downloading will take some time. We would like to thank you for your understanding, and we will work on this aspect as well.”

What Is Included in Stalker 2’s First Major Patch

Stalker 2’s major patch includes several A-Life fixes. Some of them are described in the official patch note as the following:

  • Fixed the issue with spawning NPCs behind the player’s back.
  • Players can now encounter roaming NPCs across the Zone more often.
  • Greatly extended the distance at which A-Life NPCs are visible to the player.
  • Fixed the aggressive optimization issue that prevented A-Life NPCs to exist in Offline (out of player’s visualization range).
  • Enhanced A-Life NPCs’ motivation to expand territory and actively attack enemies and mutants.
  • Fixed issues that could result in fewer A-life NPCs encountered than intended.

This major patch also improved AI in Stalker 2 along with some balance adjustments, crash fixes, and more. Stalker 2’s release date was first announced in 2021. Since then, the game has gone a long way. In an interview with Forbes, GSC Game World’s owner, Maxim Krippa, discussed the game’s success. According to Krippa, Stalker 2 “has recouped its investment and turned a profit.” Players can now enjoy Stalker 2 even more after the game’s major patch.
