It has been a month since skate. launched in Early Access, and in that time there has been over 15 million players who have popped by San Van. As promised at launch, 7th October saw the beginning of Season One, and with it a visual upgrade which makes the overall aesthetic a little less vibrant and a little more skate. Alongside this, there’s the seasonal events, new music, and the introduction of the skate pass. Season one will be active until December 2nd.
What Are the Events for skate. Season One?
Each season will come with its own special events, with themed cosmetics and an event currency being introduced this first season. The new event currency can only be used to purchase event exclusive items, and is earned by completing event specific tasks.
As well as cosmetics and challenges, there will be new themed community parks, which will change based on the event. Season One’s events are Skate-o-Ween and the 7 Ply Maple Harvest.
What Is Skate-o-Ween?
Perhaps obvious to some, but Skate-o-Ween is skate.‘s Halloween themed event. While there will be some spooky décor around the city, rather than focusing on the horror and frights, this looks to be a more of a big skate fancy dress party, with throwbacks to 90s style outfits and mascot costumes being available in the shop.
Skate-o-Ween will run from October 21st until December 2nd.
What Is the 7 Ply Maple Harvest?
According to skate. lore (as provided by EA) the 7 Ply Maple Harvest is an annual harvest and celebration of the maple trees which are ideal deck material that coincidental grow in San Van.
The celebration of wood will take place form the 18th November until December 2nd.
What Is skate. pass?
The skate. pass has been introduced alongside the Season One updates, with a standard (free) pass and a premium (paid) pass. The standard pass will be available to everyone, with 38 tiers of cosmetics and some SVB.
It is worth noting that this is a slightly shorter season, so upcoming seasons should have a couple more tiers. Naturally, the premium pass will have more tiers of items to unlock, as well as being able to unlock items on the pass from the previous season, and it is completely down to player preference whether or not that season’s skate pass is worth the cost of 1000 SVB.
