Rebellion has just dropped yet another trailer for its upcoming “satirical spy-fi lair builder” Evil Genius 2: World Domination. There is currently a 10% launch discount (15% if you own the first game) for those who pre-order before it releases on March 30th via Steam. The new Evil Genius 2 Choose Your Genius trailer focuses on the four playable super villains you can take over the world as.
Each evil genius has their own personality, campaign, play style, and story. They are the narcissistic despot Maximillian (pictured above), Emma the manipulative ex-spymaster, heavy muscle madman Red Ivan, and Zalika, the scientist zealot. The end goal is simple: world domination!
The game is all about putting you in the shoes of an evil supervillain. You’ll start from scratch and build out your dastardly island base, filled with awful traps to thwart your enemies. You’ll need to train your minions well because someone has to do your dirty work, right? Defending against the pesky “Forces of Justice” will also be an important focus, so you’re ready when they come knocking.
Some of your loyal minions can be trained into specialists to help further your diabolical plans. Build a doomsday device, baked Alaska, kidnap Maine’s governor, sell the British Royal Family, and more. With plenty of possible objectives, your path to world domination will be your own to forge. The Evil Genius 2 Choose Your Genius trailer isn’t the only new one, though. Just last week, Rebellion released a longer cinematic trailer.
At that time, it was announced Photo Mode, which will be available free at launch. The mode has plenty of camera options to help you take the perfect photos of any aspect of your island paradise lair. These options include things like field of view, focal distance, depth of field, toggling the visibility of various characters, and applying filters.
The studio also revealed last week that after the game launches, a new campaign pack will be coming. The pack will add a new playable super villain, island paradise, and Force of Justice to the game. In other packs, they plan to add “new henchmen, minion types, room types, traps, items and more”.
More details are coming shortly after the game launches. Evil Genius 2: World Domination is the sequel to the original cult classic from 2004.
