Season Roadmap
As this is early access, there is plenty of potential and room for skate. to grow. Full Circle, the dev team behind skate., has released a season roadmap which lays out the plan for future updates, such as new and updated tricks, with the promise of impossibles, darkslides and improved both hand and foot plants. There will be various quality of life improvements with each season, updates to the soundtrack (the current version which you can listen to on Spotify) as well as player created parks and more co-op modes further down the line.
Map
skate. is set in the fictional city of San Vansterdam, the official lore being skaters are on the rise and taking the city back from the strict control of MCorp. The map is split into four districts: Hedgemont, Gullcrest Village, Market Mile and Brickswich, each with their own quirks and highlight areas. Hedgemont is the first area accessed after the tutorial, unlocking each subsequent area as you complete challenges and objectives.
You will be able to customise spots with Quick Drop, with new objects available through the lootbox style store system. Each box contains a selection of items, as well as apparel and hardware, one of which will be unlocked with each purchase. Micro-transactions aren’t a necessity either – while some cosmetics are paid only (and it is guaranteed you get the item you pay for), there are credits which are earned through playing the game.
- PC requirements for skate. Gameplay is controller only, keyboard and mouse are not supported.
- The soundtrack to skate. is planned to evolve alongside the game, hopefully with new tracks coming each update.
