The Digital Dragons Conference 2024 is entering its final day. Taking place at the ICE, Krakow, the annual event is a chance for developers and industry professionals to talk games, play games, and award games at the prestigious Polish Game Awards. This year was the first Digital Dragon’s conference spanned over the course of three days, and the awards gala took place last night (20th May). The nominated games were selected by a jury of experts and whittled down to a handful of nominees, of which we have a full list here. Last night’s ceremony was opened by a performance from the talented Carolin Wønder; music producer, cosplayer and content creator, whose unique style has opened up opportunities to work with CD Projekt Red, Tencent and Riot Games. Following the best foreign game award, Carolin also sang songs from Baldur’s Gate 3, including “Down by the River.”
Before I spoil anymore of the results, the full list of winners is as follows:
Best Polish Narrative – Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red
Best Polish Game Design – Against The Storm, Eremite Games
Best Polish Game Visual Art – Inkulinati, Yaza Games
Best Polish Game Audio – The Invincible, Starward Industries
Best Polish Mobile Game – Hero Legacy, Boom Bit Games
Best Foreign Game – Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios
Best Polish Game – Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red
Not only was this conference the longest in Digital Dragon’s history, but for the first time the award gala was streamed via YouTube, on Remigiusz Maciaszek’s channel. The full broadcast can be found below. Please note, as this is the Polish Game Awards, the gala was naturally presented in Polish. Carolin’s performance of the music from Baldur’s Gate 3 begins at 59:36. The Digital Dragon’s Conference is still underway, with roughly 200 indie games in the race for Best Indie Game, which is decided through a community vote and will be announced later this evening.
