Diablo II: Resurrected Gets a Surprising Update

Diablo II has just gotten a second expansion for the 30th anniversary of the Diablo series. Players can expect a brand new playable class and some features that gives the game a new form of life.

Diablo II: Resurrected Gets a Surprising Update

Diablo II: Resurrected has just unleashed more hell for diehard action-role playing game fanatics. Diablo II: Reign of the Warlock is officially the second add-on to Diablo II and its name says it all.

Players can expect a brand new playable class to take down the hordes of evil. The Warlock is for those who want to use occult magic to decimate their foes. If you think that’s the only new update Diablo II is getting, there is more.

Other Interesting Features

For the first time, players can now tackle an uber version of the three Barbarian bosses at the Arreat Summit location. According to game director Brent Gibson, the new ancient bosses are for players that are looking for a challenge within the endgame. “These battles are tough, and designed to push your skills and builds to the next level,” Gibson said.

Diablo II has always been a game that’s all about collecting items in the endgame. For those that want to collect all the precious Uniques and Runewords, the Chronicle is a convenient in-game feature for that. There are additional Uniques and Runewords players can now chase when playing the new expansion.

Outside of the new features, the expansion promises to improve quality of life features for the game like stackable currency, additional stash stabs, and loot filter. The second expansion is currently priced at $24.99.

There hasn’t been a major update for this game since patch 2.6 which dated back in February 17, 2023. Back in those times, Diablo II players were introduced to new Runewords and various gameplay balances. It seems like Diablo II: Resurrected will continue pushing this direction.

The last time Diablo II had new playable classes dated back in the 2001 Lord of Destruction expansion. The Assassin and Druid were the two playable classes that were introduced in the first expansion add-on.
