In today’s statement, October 4th, CDPR started the announcement of its long-term product strategy with Orion, which is a codename for its next Cyberpunk game. Orion will be developed by a new studio and the company’s Vancouver team. Speaking of Cyberpunk, CDPR has recently announced a major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, named Phantom Liberty, which is set to release in 2023.
CDPR has continued its announcement with the upcoming trilogy of The Witcher. The company used the codename Polaris for the next Witcher game, which was announced in March. As a reminder, the company announced that it’s working on a new Witcher game, which will be the beginning of a new saga for the franchise in March. It was also announced that the new entry is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. It should be noted that CDPR plans to release these games over six years after the release of the first.
Two more Witcher games were also announced by CDPR with codenames Canis Majoris and Sirius. These two games will be developed by an unnamed external studio, headed by experienced developers who have worked on past Witcher games, and The Flame in the Flood developer The Molasses Flood. It’s also stated that Sirius will have multiplayer gameplay with a single-player campaign.
CD Projekt Red also announced a new major franchise, codenamed Hadar. According to the announcement, it is very early in development, which means they are working on the foundation for this new setting.
