Atomfall is one of the few single player survival games that got most players excited before its release, and since its release, the game has great survival experience that unlocks that player instinct and it sits at number one on this list.
Atomfall takes you back to the 1960s where a nuclear disaster turns northern England into a radioactive wasteland, and you have to survive the brutal after effects of the disaster. The game was developed by Rebellion Development, who over the years have developed games like Rainbow Six, Sniper Elite Franchise, and Alien vs Predators.

Dune: Awakening is one of the most anticipated games of 2025, and the massively multiplayer online game allows you to exploit the vast open world and run into every single player in the game. The game is said to be hosted on one server, which means you get to explore this vast world and come across different players who are also trying to survive in the game.
The game not just has the MMO element, but it’s also RPG inspired, which makes it a well constructed survival game with great reference to the Dune movie. Unfortunately, the game is available for only PC, but the release date for other gaming platforms will be communicated soon.

Terminator: Survivors is a co-op game where you play as a group of survivors, and this open world is set in the iconic Terminator universe. The game takes place years after the day humanity almost died, and your mission is to gather your society and scout the land for materials, and other survivors.
While scouting for materials to build your base, you’ll encounter the indestructible robots. You can use weapons to battle these robots, however, stealth is best advised in these scenarios. Unfortunately, there isn’t an official release date for this game but we can expect it to be released this year.

The upcoming Outward 2 sequel brings more survival systems and mechanics, which makes this new installment even better. The game puts you in the shoes of an adventurer who explores the dangerous world, and you get to survive not just the creatures, but also hunger and illness.
With enough prep time, your adventurer can achieve extraordinary things and your battles will be so much easier. The game has multiple branching storylines, dynamic defeat scenarios, which will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The game is a seamless open-world with grassland, desert, forest, and mountains. You can also fight alongside mechanical beasts, and some say that this new game is a spinoff from the popular Horizon video game.

Blackfrost is the sequel to The Long Dark video game and this latest installment is a full-on survival co-op game that evolves from the sandbox. The game is set in the northern city of Harmont, and you can choose to either survive as a lone wolf or work together with other survivors and create shelters.
This game is a next generation survival RPG and you get to experience first hand how to survive in different situations. You get health and consumables which levels up your will to live.
Blackfrost
Stormforge

Stormforge is a great survival game with fantastic visuals and the best part is the multiplayer mode. You can play with up to eight players and explore the vast world as well as build base camps. The game gives you the Stormforge ability to harness powers from magical storms.
This game is developed by Roboto Games and they have done a good job in terms of open-world survival crafting, and it’s so sad that there’s is no official announcement of the release date of this game, but rest assured it’ll be released this year.
