This feature involves upgrading your players through sets of objectives as long as they meet a specific criteria. It may be tricky finding the best possible players that fit within a filtered pool of players, however this guide is here to present to you the top 5 players for evolutions.
EA Sports FC 24 can be pre-ordered for $69.99 on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It is also available for pre-order on the Nintendo Switch for $59.99. Early access begins September 22 and the game releases fully for all on September 29.

What are Player Evolutions?
Evolutions are a set of new features that revolve around upgrading an existing card’s stats. It all depends on certain conditions being met in order for them to receive player upgrades. Once you’ve decided on a player that is eligible for an evolution path, you’re able to upgrade your player items in different game modes such as Rivals and Squad Battles.
The upgrades are extremely versatile, having the option to add different alternative positions for your players. If your player is a midfielder or a winger, you can possibly turn them into as striker later on, depending on the evolution path that they are on. Upgrades include enhancing pace, shooting, dribbling, defending, physicality, and possibly even work rates and traits. Most importantly, you are able to increase a player’s overall rating.
Furthermore, you’ll be able to upgrade their weak foot and skill moves, completely transforming their play style. Make sure to choose cards that play in leagues such as the Premier League or the Serie A to guarantee for those meta links. As the power curve progresses, you’ll be able to pick better cards to upgrade, some of which include promo cards!

What is the Criteria for Evolutions?
There are different positions available, each with their own set of criteria. This makes it so that you can upgrade a player of your choice, regardless of playstyle. The criteria is set to change depending on the power curve and where the meta stands. As we progress through the calendar year, expect some bigger and better evolution paths to be introduced later on.
The sample evolution requirements for a striker are as follows:
- Weak Foot: Max 4-Star
- Pace: Max 81
- Shooting: Max 78
- Overall: Max 78
Whilst the sample requirements for a winger include:
- Weak Foot: Max 4-Star
- Pace: Max 91
- Dribbling: Max 82
- Shooting: Max 79
- Physical: Max 79
- Alt Position: Max 2
- Overall: Max 79
For defenders however, the sample criteria looks a bit more like this:
- Pace: Max 65
- Passing: Max 75
- Defending: Max 84
- Physical: Max 84
- Position: CB
- Overall: Max 80

Mykhailo Mudryk – The Future is Now
This Ukrainian beast is no stranger to avid football fans. Whilst he needs a bit of time to settle into Chelsea’s squad, he can slot right into yours perfectly. Not only does he offer solid Premier League links, but his stats are incredible! Being able to upgrade his card further using evolutions will result in the birth of an essential winger.

By upgrading him, you’ll be able to max out his pace fairly quickly due to him already being rapid and quick. You’ll be able to mimic his real life dribbling by giving that a boost as well. Finally, a little bit of shooting and passing to help with tap-ins, long shots, and crosses, and you’ll be able to see Mudryk’s potential unfold before your very eyes.
Noni Madueke – Another Day, Another Blue
Yet another Chelsea player makes his way into this list, this time, it’s Noni Madueke. This Englishman could prove to be an excellent choice, seeing as how he’s already got great pace and dribbling. Even if he does not fit the criteria of the first evolution, it might be worth it to keep him in mind for the future.

Having Mudryk on the left and Madueke on the right is already overpowered as is. Now with these evolved versions, you can guarantee that no defender will ever catch up to you, breaking ankles left, right, and center. Medueke is a solid choice that can seriously carry your team in FUT Champions.
Youssoufa Moukoko – Dortmund’s Hero
Who doesn’t enjoy playing with Borussia Dortmund? They’re generally underdogs that usually pack a mean punch. Not only that, but they get a bunch of special cards throughout the year that can prove to be fine additions to your squad. This is where Moukoko comes in. Providing German, Bundesliga links, he is able to maintain your overall chemistry whilst evolving into an absolute beast.

Being the example player shown by EA, it’s not really a secret that Moukoko is a reliable option when it comes to evolutions. In fact, one could argue that pairing him up with Adeyemi is really all you need for a starter squad (we’re looking at you Danny Aarons). All in all, you’ll definitely want to go with Moukoko is you plan on building a Bundesliga squad. Besides, you’ll be able to link him to Reus when he gets his yearly overpowered card.
Samuel Umtiti – Casse La Démarche Comme…
By now, everyone knows who Samuel Umtit is. Whilst not the best defender ever, he had his moments. Luckily, you can still use and evolve him into a great card, re-living some of the moments in his prime. This brick wall is able to receive a nice pace boost to go alongside his hefty defending. If your friends are picking Mudryk, maybe this guy’s for you. He’ll make sure Mudryk leaves the pitch on a stretcher.

Having 62 pace is right under the 65 maximum mark, whilst not being too low that he’s unplayable. Umtiti will eventually get some pace, but in the meantime, his high defending and physical stats will make up for it. Remember, this game has a completely different meta, so don’t expect your opponents to be unstoppable if they’ve just got pace and skills. Other great CB options include: Diop, Ben Davies, and Chalobah.
Naomie Feller – Definition of Meta
This Madrid star’s gold card is already insanely overpowered. With 91 pace and 81 dribbling, she can really cause a lot of trouble for your opposition’s defenders. Additionally, she has pretty high shooting for her position, making her already a viable option without any upgrades. Boosting her stats up will result in the birth of your new EA Sports FC 24 UT club legend.

She’s got the heart of a warrior and the stats to back up her fight. This card is a must-have for any ultimate team player looking to drastically improve their squad. Without a doubt she will be expensive at the start of the game, so make sure you stock up on packs and do your squad building challenges. She’s definitely worth the hassle, making her one of the best players to use for evolutions in EA FC 24.
Honorable Mention – Martinez Quarta
Yet another strong defender, Quarta has the potential necessary to be a serious staple in players’ squads. With pace close to the maximum limit and solid dribbling, this card will feel really smooth to control as you incept passes across the field. Relatively high physical and solid defending stats all mean that he’s going to be one heck of a force to be reckoned with.
