Star Wars Bruno: Leaked Images of the New Game From Respawn

More than three years ago, Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor, a studio made up of former XCOM team members, announced they were developing a new turn-based strategy game set in the Star Wars universe. Since the announcement, little information has been revealed about the project, until now. Recently, new details have leaked about the game, codenamed Star Wars Bruno.

A series of seemingly leaked images have surfaced online. They come from the portfolio of a Bit Reactor artist and give us a first look at the possible gameplay style and the characters involved. This leaked Star Wars Bruno game brings some interesting new details.

The images show the interface and part of the gameplay, with Bo-Katan Kryze, the famous Mandalorian warrior, as the protagonist. We can also see clone troopers and Jedi fighting against each other. This could place the story at the end of the Clone Wars, a crucial period within the Star Wars universe.

If this is true, the game could explore the events of Order 66. During that time, the clones, programmed to betray the Jedi, began their hunt across the galaxy after being manipulated by Emperor Palpatine. This conflict marked the rise of the Galactic Empire and the fall of the Republic.

Since Bit Reactor is made up of former XCOM developers, the leaks suggest that Star Wars Bruno will follow a turn-based strategy system similar to the Firaxis Games series.

Although these images are preliminary (dated 2023), the project already has a reserved spot at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025. During this one-hour presentation, the first official look at the game in action is expected to be showcased. Additionally, we might receive confirmation of the official title, a possible release window, and more details about the gameplay and story. This event will be crucial for learning more about Star Wars Bruno.

This leak only heightens the excitement for what’s to come in the Star Wars universe. In recent years, the franchise has seen impressive expansion, with hit series like The Mandalorian, collaborations in games like Fortnite, and acclaimed titles such as the Star Wars Jedi series. Now, this new turn-based strategy game promises to bring a completely different experience to the franchise.

Update: Project Bruno has now confirmed its official title and launch platforms.
