Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have confirmed that the long-awaited Spider-Man 4 will be called Spider-Man: Brand New Day and will be released in U.S. cinemas on July 31, 2026. Tom Holland will reprise the role of Peter Parker and continue his journey as our favorite Spider-Man. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The title Brand New Day is a nod to a 2008 comics episode that saw Peter Parker’s life change dramatically following a reality shift. This plot is undoubtedly linked to the conclusion of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange’s spell erased Peter’s existence from the memories of everyone he knew, leaving him truly alone. The next film will explore the consequences of this reset and open a new chapter in Peter’s life.
The title is a reference to one of his comic books!
Shooting is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025, and some familiar faces will be returning to the cast. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink joins the cast, but her role has not been revealed. This has led fans to speculate that she could play an important new character in Peter’s story – perhaps even linked to the X-Men, given recent MCU developments.
Positioned between two major Avengers films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is likely to play an important role in the wider MCU narrative.
