The cook in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

Want to earn 10,000+ gold fast in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon without fighting? This vendor loop exploit lets you cook food, sell it back for 500% profit, and repeat until you’re rich — all before leaving Act 1.

1. Best Ways to Farm Gold Fast Without Combat

Ruairc

  • Ruairc – Found in the kitchen at Horns of the South, Ruairc sells cooking ingredients and buys back food. His inventory resets daily, enabling continuous profit loops through cooking.
  • Bandit Loot – Killing bandits yields animal skins and equipment, which can be sold. Bandits respawn regularly, allowing repeat farming.
  • Cooking and Alchemy – Basic recipes and potions crafted from store-bought or looted ingredients can be sold at a profit, especially with increased Cooking and Alchemy levels.

2. Step-by-Step: Earn 10,000+ Gold in Tainted Grail

Farming gold in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is not that difficult, and these are the step-by-step process to get thousands of gold.

Step 1: Get Two Origin Potions for Respec and Reset

To begin your gold farming build, you’ll need two Origin Potions. These allow you to respec into a Practicality-based setup and switch back afterward. You can purchase one from Jann Heber in Horns of the South for 1,500 gold, and another from the alchemist in Cuanacht. For exact locations, check out our guide: Potion of Origin Locations in Tainted Grail. These let you respec into a Practicality-based build and revert back afterward. You can buy one Origin Potion from Jann Heber in Horns of the South for 1,500 gold, and another one from the Cuanacht alchemist.

Step 2: Invest in Practicality and Crafting Perks

Use your first Origin Potion and place as many points as possible into Practicality. Then go into the Crafting & Trading skill tree and unlock the following:

  • +50% Selling Price
  • Side Dish Mastery – 30% chance to craft an extra meal
  • Reusable Resources – 50% chance to recycle ingredients

Step 3: Go to the Kitchen in Horns of the South and Buy All Ingredients

Head to the kitchen vendor near your stash in Horns of the South. Buy all ingredients and any available recipes. The full stock costs around 500 gold.

Step 4: Cook High-Value Meals for Maximum Profit

At the Cooking Pot, use the recipes or the experimental cooking option to create dishes like:

  • Oatmeal (oats)
  • Poultry Stew (potato and poultry)
  • Cabbage Rolls (meats, groats, and cabbage)
  • Mashed Potatoes (milk and potato)
  • Fried Fish (fish millet and butter)
  • Cheese Balls of Doom (cheese, cheese and cheese)

Sort recipes by price and avoid making Beggar’s Fare, Ruairc won’t buy it.

At the end of the article is a table of all the meals and the ingredients.

Step 5: Sell Cooked Meals to Ruairc for 500%+ Profit

Sell your crafted food back to Ruairc. With all Practicality bonuses active, players can turn 500 gold worth of ingredients into over 2,000–3,000 gold per loop.

Step 6: Sell Mom’s Pie to Orlaith

Even though Ruairc won’t buy Mom’s Pie, you can sell it to Órlaith, a merchant near the Fort entrance. This adds extra income from otherwise wasted food.

Step 7: Rest at Bonfire to Reset Shop & Repeat the Loop

To repeat the process, rest at a bonfire for 24 hours. Then go back to the kitchen and buy everything again. With some luck on extra dishes and recycled resources, you’ll easily reach 10,000+ gold in a few runs. And every run will gain more because you will have higher skills.

Step 8: Spend Profits on Gear Upgrades and Crafting Materials

Keep your gold to buy titanium ore, leather, iron ore, sharpening stones, wood fiber, and linen fiber from smiths in Cuanacht. Upgrades require a lot of money, and if you would like to buy a house, that will cost you another 50k gold.

Step 9: What Gear Should You Upgrade with Your Gold?

Upgrade mainly the gear that gives you a big benefit and increase. Skip armors like Increase mana from 10 to 11 and similar. You should focus on:

  • Chest armor – +5% Spell Power, +1% Crit Chance
  • Pants – +5% Spell Power, +1% Crit Chance
  • Helmet – +5% Spell Power, +1% Crit Chance
  • Weapons – Damage and scaling bonuses

Avoid early upgrades to gloves and boots, as they only offer minor increases. For more information on gears in the game, checkout our Tainted Grail Complete Gear List.

Step 10: Where to Farm Titanium Ore?

Go to the Ancient Cave fast travel point north of the map. Right in front of the gate to Cuanach, cross a small bridge to a visible Titanium Ore vein. Mine it, rest at a bonfire, and repeat to farm free upgrade materials.

Step 11: Respec Back to Combat Build After Profit

Once you’re done selling, use your second Origin Potion to respec back into your combat build. You’ll now have the gold needed for gear, relics, or even property (some houses cost 50,000 gold).

3. How to Power-Level Cooking and Alchemy While Earning Gold

Crafting skills in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon include Cooking, Alchemy, and Handcrafting. These skills improve automatically as you use related crafting stations, and higher levels directly increase the value and quality of the items you make. Here’s how to level them up efficiently based on verified gameplay methods:

3.1. Spam Crafting Loops with Recycled Ingredients

If you’ve unlocked Reusable Resources from the Practicality → Crafting & Trading skill tree, you’ll have a 50% chance to reuse ingredients. This lets you craft more items without needing to restock, accelerating XP gain while saving money.

3.2. Level Up by Selling Unused Items for Profit

Every crafted item contributes to skill XP—even if it’s sold or not used. Focus on repeatable recipes like Oatmeal, Poultry Stew, and Small Mana Potions. These recipes are cheap to make, level up your skills quickly, and can be sold for gold.

3.3. Rest and Repeat the Vendor Loop

After exhausting ingredients, rest at a bonfire for 24 hours or reload the game to refresh the merchant’s stock. Repeat the process of buying, crafting, and selling to continue leveling.

3.4. Benefits of High Crafting Skills

  • Cooking: Increases food value, healing, and gold return from sales
  • Alchemy: Boosts potion potency and sell value
  • Handcrafting: Improves durability and efficiency of crafted gear (when unlocked)

Investing time in crafting not only builds gold but also boosts your combat effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

4. Best Gold-Boosting Quest in Tainted Grail You Shouldn’t Miss

  • Órlaith’s Questline – Completing this unlocks the spell Rumpolt’s Revenge, which allows minions to be turned into cheese, a unique crafting and selling method.

5. Boost Your Profits with High Cooking and Alchemy Levels

As your Cooking or Alchemy level increases, the quality of your crafted items improves. This directly affects:

  • Gold per item sold – higher level = more valuable products
  • Crafting efficiency – fewer failures, better effects
  • Self-sufficiency – better healing or mana means fewer consumables needed

This is why gold farming and skill leveling are often done in tandem.

6. When to Use Origin Potions for Maximum Gold

Origin Potion

Origin Potions are finite, so it’s best to wait until:

  • You’ve hoarded significant sellable loot in your Stash
  • You’re preparing to buy a house (costs 50,000 gold)
  • You need gold for gear upgrades or relic slots
  • You want to cook and sell a lot of meals until you earn enough for the rest of the game. 100k should do it.
  • You have more Origin Potions

Combine the Practicality respec with a full vendor loop for maximum returns before switching back to your combat build.

7. Maximize Gold Earnings with Practicality Attribute and Perks

The Price of Sold Goods bonus stacks between:

  • Attribute points in Practicality – +10% per point
  • +50% Selling Price skill perk under Crafting & Trading

Stacking both attribute and perk boosts results in some items selling for over 5x their original value.
