Saros has 9 boss encounters in total. The Consort appears as the tutorial boss, while the remaining 8 Overlords appear at the end of each biome: Prophet, Bastion, Rhabdom, Legion, Architect, Shepherd, Priestess, and King.
1. All Bosses in Saros
Bosses in Saros are built around reading projectile colors and using the right defensive response. Blue projectiles are usually useful because they can charge your Power Weapon through the Soltari Shield. Red Nova projectiles are more dangerous and should be parried or avoided, depending on the attack.
Corrupted yellow attacks need clean movement and spacing, because trying to absorb the wrong projectile type will usually get you punished.
| Boss | Biome / Area | Main Mechanic |
|---|---|---|
| Consort | Tutorial | Use pillars for cover and learn shield/projectile rules |
| Prophet | Shattered Rise | Destroy yellow buds to expose the weakspot |
| Bastion | Ancient Depths | Use Jump Network Pads to avoid full-arena attacks |
| Rhabdom | Shattered Descent | Burst it early with Overdrive and stay mobile |
| Legion | Blighted Marsh | Target the bright red central enemy only |
| Architect | Desecrated Fortress | Fight a flying boss while the arena shrinks |
| Shepherd | Acolyte’s Haven | Clear tentacles, then punish the exposed head |
| Priestess | Cathedral | Use Priestess kills and bells to trigger damage phases |
| King | Yellow Shore | Survive without Second Chance and adapt to each phase |
2. How to Beat Consort
The Consort is the tutorial boss and is designed to teach the most important combat rules before the main biome bosses begin. The arena has pillars, and you should use them constantly instead of fighting in the open. Defeating the Consort rewards you with a Halycon making it worth finishing cleanly before the game fully opens up.
This fight is less about damage optimization and more about learning what each projectile color demands.
- Use the pillars as cover whenever the boss starts pressuring you with ranged attacks.
- Absorb blue projectiles with your Soltari Shield so you can learn the shield timing safely.
- Dash away from yellow projectiles and beam attacks instead of trying to block everything.
- Jump away from red Nova projectiles, because these cannot be handled like normal shots.
- Attack between projectile waves, then return to cover before the next barrage starts.
IMPORTANT: Consort is not a mandatory boss; if you lose even once, you will not be able to fight it again, and you will move to the Passage, and Arjun will start the run in the first biome.
3. How to Beat Prophet
Prophet is the first full Overlord boss in Saros and appears at the end of Shattered Rise. It has three health bars and cannot be damaged normally until you expose its weak spots.
- Destroy the yellow buds first. Prophet’s weak spot stays closed until the yellow buds around the arena are destroyed.
- Attack the central weakspot when it opens. Once the buds are gone, focus fire on the large exposed yellow weakspot in the middle of the boss.
- Absorb blue projectile barrages. Use the Soltari Shield to absorb blue projectiles and charge your Power Weapon.
- Dodge the corrupted yellow waves. Do not stand still during the triple corrupted projectile waves. Keep moving while firing your main weapon.
- Destroy arena bulbs in later phases. During the second health bar, Prophet can spawn large bulbs that fire projectiles. Destroy them if they are filling the arena, and check for possible Aether drops.
- Stay calm when the arena narrows. In the final health bar, the arena becomes a narrow tunnel. The attack pattern remains manageable if you keep moving and repeat the same absorb, dodge, and punish rhythm.
Tip: If Prophet is blocking your progress, upgrade your Armor Matrix before retrying. Second Chance is especially useful here because it lets you survive one failed attempt inside the fight.
4. How to Beat Bastion
Bastion is the Overlord of Ancient Depths. Unlike Prophet, Bastion can be damaged immediately because its head is exposed from the start. The main danger is not finding a weakspot; it is surviving layered projectile patterns and using the arena’s Jump Network Pads correctly.
- Start shooting immediately. Bastion does not need a weakspot setup phase, so begin dealing damage as soon as the fight starts.
- Absorb blue projectiles carefully. Position yourself so the Soltari Shield catches blue projectiles without walking you into corrupted yellow shots.
- Use Power Weapon charges often. Bastion fires enough absorbable projectiles to keep your Power Weapon charged, so do not sit on charges too long.
- Kill the stationary bots between phases. After each health bar, Bastion retreats and spawns stationary bots. Clear all of them before the boss returns.
- Use Jump Network Pads for red Nova walls. From later phases onward, Bastion can fire full red Nova walls that cover ground-level movement. Use the jump pads to reach higher platforms and avoid them.
- Watch for yellow ring attacks. If expanding yellow rings cover the floor, use elevation instead of trying to dodge through them on the ground.
5. How to Beat Rhabdom
Rhabdom is the Overlord of Shattered Descent and is the easiest major boss in Saros. It only has one health bar, and the fight gives you a short damage window before the boss fully starts attacking.
- Trigger Overdrive as soon as the fight starts. Rhabdom takes a few seconds before its first attack, so use the opening for free damage.
- Chain Power Moves during the spawn window. Push as much damage as possible before it begins jumping around the arena.
- Stay at range once it becomes active. Rhabdom jumps toward you and launches red projectiles, so distance makes the pattern easier to read.
- Use grapple and jump pads to reposition. The arena gives you movement tools, so use higher ground and side platforms to avoid AoE pressure.
- Keep firing while dodging. Rhabdom does not have a complicated mechanic. Once the opening burst is over, the fight is mostly clean movement and steady damage.
6. How to Beat Legion
Legion is the Overlord of Blighted Marsh and the first flying boss that can look confusing if you do not know the real target. Legion appears as a swarm, but only the bright red central enemy actually reduces the boss health bar.
- Target the bright red central enemy. Ignore the swarm unless it is blocking shots or overwhelming you.
- Use parry against circular red Nova attacks. When the horde forms a circle around you, rotate and parry the incoming red Nova projectiles. It usually takes a few parries to clear the pattern.
- Absorb blue homing projectiles. When blue projectiles chase you, use the shield to absorb them and build Power Weapon charge.
- Dodge the corrupted beam. The central enemy can fire a corrupted beam while the swarm pressures you. Move away from the beam while shielding blue projectiles.
- Use Repeater Crossbow if available. The Repeater Crossbow is useful because its Alt-Fire splits into projectiles that can hit surrounding enemies while still helping pressure the central target.
- Spend Overdrive and Power Weapon on the center. Use your strongest damage only when you have a clear line on the central enemy.
7. How to Beat Architect
Architect is the Overlord of Desecrated Fortress and one of the more demanding fights because it spends much of the encounter flying. It has three health bars, takes damage at all times, and does not require a special weakspot, but hitting it consistently is the real challenge.
- Use weapons that can hit moving targets. Autohit weapons such as Handcannons or Rifles are easier to use here. Crossbows work better when Architect stops moving.
- Avoid standard shotguns. Architect spends too much time at range for normal shotguns to feel reliable.
- Focus on clean dodging over risky absorbs. Architect mixes blue, yellow, and red projectile attacks. Dodging is usually safer than trying to absorb every blue shot during heavy patterns.
- Parry red projectiles when it is safe. A well-timed parry can clear space and open a short damage window.
- React when the platform breaks. As the fight progresses, Architect destroys parts of the arena, leaving less room to dodge.
- Grapple back if it knocks you away. Architect can land on the platform and launch you backward, so be ready to grapple back immediately.
8. How to Beat Shepherd
Shepherd is the Overlord of Acolyte’s Haven. The fight starts with tentacles slamming onto the boat, and you cannot properly damage the main boss until the tentacles are cleared.
- Clear the tentacles first. Attack the tentacles on the boat until Shepherd’s head becomes targetable.
- Attack the head when it appears. Once exposed, focus damage on the head instead of wasting shots on the arena.
- Absorb blue and yellow projectile waves. Shepherd fires repeated wave patterns that can keep your Power Weapon charged.
- Parry red projectiles back at the boss. Red projectile parries are one of the best ways to deal damage when your Power Weapon is unavailable.
- Save Overdrive for the later phase. Use it in phase 3 because Shepherd retreats during phase 2, which can waste your burst window.
- Watch the arena size after phase changes. Shepherd can move to different sides of the arena and reduce your movement space, so reposition early.
9. How to Beat Priestess
Priestess is the Overlord of Cathedral and one of the most mechanic-heavy fights in Saros. This boss is less about raw damage and more about knowing what makes the main Priestess vulnerable in each phase.
- Kill two smaller Priestesses in phase 1. The fight starts with three smaller Priestesses. Destroy two of them to make the main boss damageable.
- Repeat the two-kill trigger halfway through the first health bar. When the three Priestesses return, kill two again to continue damaging the boss.
- Use projectile waves to charge your Power Weapon. Blue and yellow projectile waves are generous in this fight, so use them to fuel burst damage.
- Hit the three red chimes in phase 2. When the arena changes and the Priestesses become larger, do not focus them. Find and hit all three red chimes to bring the boss back.
- Move between platforms in phase 3. The final arena uses multiple platforms that can fall away, so keep moving.
- Hit two chimes whenever the boss becomes invulnerable. In the final phase, the boss may stop taking damage until you destroy two red chimes.
10. How to Beat King Final Boss
King is the final Overlord in Yellow Shore and the hardest fight because of the stakes. The boss itself gives you many opportunities to charge your Power Weapon, but there is no Second Chance in Yellow Shore, so mistakes are far more punishing.
- Absorb blue projectiles in phase 1. King starts with absorbable blue projectile attacks, making it easy to keep your Power Weapon charged.
- Break the yellow shield with melee. When King raises a yellow shield, move in and break it with Blazing Strike or melee pressure.
- Jump and dash over expanding red rings. Shield phases can come with expanding red rings, so clear them before returning to damage.
- Parry or avoid red Nova attacks in phase 2. King switches heavily into red Nova projectiles after the first health bar.
- Track teleports in phase 3. King becomes more mobile and can attack from different angles, including behind you. Keep moving the camera.
- Dodge sideways against melee lunges. When King tilts back before lunging, dodge to the side instead of backing straight away.
- Never stand still in the final phase. The third phase punishes stationary players with teleport angles and melee pressure.
