The After School Anomaly Commission in Neverness to Everness is a school-themed anomaly in Bridge Crossings. It sends you into a distorted TV world where you need to collect two keys and turn off the TV to escape. The main danger is the Shadow Man, who becomes aggressive when you stop looking at him.
1. After School Anomaly Location
The After School Anomaly starts in Bridge Crossings. Go to the western end of Coastal Highway Z42 and look behind the red building near Mr. Brown’s Shop. The anomaly trigger is a TV, and interacting with it pulls you into the school puzzle area.
How to Start After School Anomaly
You are looking for a TV anomaly trigger behind the red building, and you need to look for a rack of TVs to get inside the anomaly.
- Open your map and go to Bridge Crossings.
- Head toward the western end of Coastal Highway Z42.
- Look behind the red building near Mr. Brown’s Shop.
- Find the TV anomaly trigger; it is directly in front of a large TV rack.
- Interact with the TV to enter the school anomaly.
2. How the Shadow Man Works
The Shadow Man is the main mechanic in this anomaly. He does not behave like a normal enemy. If you keep your camera facing him, he stays controlled. If you turn away or lose sight of him, he moves aggressively toward you. If he touches you, the mission resets you back to the spawn point inside the anomaly.
Tips for Escaping Shadow Man
The safest way to handle him is to treat him like a line-of-sight puzzle.
- Keep him on camera: Do not turn fully away unless you are ready to sprint.
- Move slowly through tight halls: The school layout makes sudden camera turns risky.
- Use corners carefully: Look back before turning into another hallway.
- Do not panic after picking up keys: Recenter your camera toward the Shadow Man quickly.
- Sprint only during forced escape moments: The second key requires more risk, so save your movement for that section.
3. First Key Location
The first key is found near a flower pot inside the school anomaly. This is the easier of the two keys, but you still need to keep the Shadow Man under control while moving through the hallway.
How to Get First Key
The key can be easy to miss because it relies on the interaction prompt rather than a large obvious marker.
- Move through the first hallway while keeping your camera angled toward the Shadow Man.
- Look for the flower pots on top of the lockers.
- Check around the flower pot for the key interaction prompt.
- Pick up the first key quickly.
- Turn your camera back toward the Shadow Man before moving away.
NOTE: Do not linger near the flower pot after grabbing the key. Once the first key is collected, your next goal is to unlock the nearby door and reach the staircase.
4. How to Reach the Second Floor
After collecting the first key, use it to open the locked door that leads toward the staircase. The stair section is dangerous because the space is narrow, which makes camera control harder. Keep the Shadow Man visible as much as possible and avoid rushing through the stairs blindly.
- Go back to the locked door after collecting the first key.
- Use the first key to unlock the door.
- Move toward the staircase.
- Keep your camera turned back toward the Shadow Man while climbing.
- Reach the second floor and prepare for the second key section.
5. Second Key Location
The second key is attached to the Shadow Man’s neck. This is the most dangerous part of the After School Anomaly because you need to approach him closely enough to interact, grab the key, and then run away before he catches you.
How to Get the Second Key
The trick is to approach with control, not panic. Keep him visible until you are close enough to grab the key, then commit to the interaction and escape immediately.
- Locate the Shadow Man on the second floor.
- Keep your camera locked on him while moving closer.
- Approach slowly until the interaction prompt appears.
- Grab the key from his neck.
- Sprint away immediately after collecting it.
- Reposition before he closes the distance.
6. How to Complete After School Anomaly
Once you have both keys, return to the required room and interact with the TV to shut it down.
- Confirm you have collected both keys.
- Return to the designated room with the TV.
- Keep checking the Shadow Man’s position while moving.
- Interact with the TV.
- Exit the anomaly after the TV is turned off.
This completes the commission and sends you back out of the anomaly. If you get reset near the end, repeat the same route carefully.
7. After School Anomaly Rewards
